Ok, now which style do you think is the best of them all?

Me personally, I don't play favorites. I prefer Krav Maga. But, I've picked up a few useful techniques from other sources as well. Ok, I guess I do play favorites with Krav Maga. But I like to incorporate other systems as well.

Bruce Lee had the right idea. Use ALL the styles. The ART of fighting.

And even if I were to try to attempt to choose ... I can't ... all the striking arts don't have a good enough ground game ... all the grappling arts lack an effective striking game ... all the hybrid arts ... though advantageous ... doesn't have the strength of a pure art (ie pure boxing versus boxing in MMA) ...

In the end ... it is not the martial art that can be defined ... but the fighter themselves that must be judged ...

This is the part where I go of on "blah blah blah no such thing as a master style yada yada yada." However, we all have our biases when it comes to this philosophy, and while I know for a fact that equivalently trained artists from different styles will be unable to defeat each other, I must express a certain prejudice for my newfound Aikido and my old Krav Maga. Krav is a quick style to study, with basic proficiency achievable in a remarkably short time period allowing near-immediate usage in rudimentary self defense situations. There are many arts that are this way, however, so it's not by any means a master style. And for Aikido, I just love doing it. Only been to a couple of classes so far, and it's a blast. And I've developed great respect for TKD, MMA of all varieties, even boxing and amateur wrestling and catch (read, pro) wrestling as well. The list really does go on.

agreeing with baka and quiet on this i couldent say what is the better of all the styles because there is no better style it all comes down to the fighter and the caliber of his training

I agree that no style is above another...Each have their advantages and disadvantages...It also depends on an individuals skills and how well they can adapt to varying situations that go on in a fight...

I think Raw talent beats anyone that trained anyway given the talented knows the basics of any martial art he's using....many times coming out on top or anything depends on physical traits or natural personality traits that make to a natural threat

If this is what your experience has shown you, then you are right. It is a simple fact that you can have one of the following:

A) A lot of training, bringing you to a level considered "master" by your peers, or

B) A level of natural talent that can also bring you to that level.

I've seen examples of both, though I've never lost any kind of defense against an untrained opponent. The human body is a marvel, and in some the instinct to fight is simply naturally overwhelming and no amount of training will supplement it effectively. Indeed, there is a real chance that training will corrupt and weaken the natural talent! Simply put, there is no "best" way. If there must be, it is the way that works for you, because in the end we all have our own path and it is different for everyone.

It all depends on the skill and ability of the fighter. The Style isn't fighting, the person using the style is.Styles are simply just a way of doing something. But even so,anyone can be beaten on any given day.You can have all the skill in the world and still be beaten,it's really just a game of chance. It doesn't matter if youve been training for 50+ years, mistakes can still be made.Nobody is perfect. The best thing to do is use your faults to your own advantage and learn from your mistakes to become a better individual then you were the day before.

fighting's like rock paper scissors. Sometimes though its hard to use any martial when fighting someone with no training.

yea if you have no training it will be hard but if you have a body built for martial arts and you only have the basics it will surpass most..prime example would be BJ Penn He at white belt was tapping and submitting purple and black belts..which when you looks at it is hella scary xP
