I was just talking to my mom about how I want to go to the other Catholic Church nearby cause I like it more there than the one I am registered at.

And then my mom has to start ranting about how I hate the church that we are registered at because the Father tells us about how homosexuals are a sin and blah. I start crying and she is asking why. I walk out and she starts telling me not to be upset. crying

I hate it when parents ask "Why?" It's never good. NEVER.
That sucks. I'm sorry.

I have friends who have had the same problem. I personally pretty much love the Catholic Church I go to, but I am thinking and praying about maybe leaving my position as a Young Apostle (we basically help lead the Youth Group). As a fellow Catholic I am here for you

parents get SOOO touchy about religion when you come out. i swear, they become born-again-christians half the time. it's disgusting and just sad, usually. but if you're dad's cool with it, then maybe you can go there and everything will be fine. i hate boring churches that have no activity other than mass on sundays!

That does suck but I don't want everyone thinking that all parents bring religion up when it comes to sexuality. My Mom's totally cool with it and is a very religious woman which is why she's cool with it because that means that god gave her something special (or something like that) My dad is having a little more trouble as a raised Catholic boy but he still loves me and he says as long as I'm happy he's good with it. So yeah alot of 'religious' parents will bring up religion but not all. Oh and did you try to explain to your Mom why you want to go to the other church?

Not really. She probably knows from my dad that I'm bi. smile Now I feel better, and I'm gonna try to ignore the father's antagonism towards homos.
