I didn't see one, so thought I'd start one. Seems like a valid question, no?
Let's see, I'll kick it off. My girlfriend (henceforth known as "L" -- she has a distinctive name she doesn't like posted around.) is my best friend's older sister. We first met at a Halloween party my friend wanted me to go to (because it was going to be her two older sisters and their friends, so no one our age.) I went, had a good time, met and hung out with L awhile, thought no more of it. That was eight years ago. Then, about two years ago, I started college and ended up in the same college as her. Our social circles overlapped, her sister/my friend also went there, so we ended up hanging out a lot more. I eventually found myself looking for her in the cafeteria and looking forward to hanging out with her specifically. When I first realized I had a crush on her, I actually went out of my way to avoid her, because I was determined that I was too young and not her type. I'm 20 -- she's 28; I'm an unruly tomboy, never-been-kissed, moody, sarcastic, and as far as I'm concerned, nothing special to look at with my dirty green eyes, sun-bleached brown hair, farmer tan, and scars like whoa. As far as I'd gleamed from her, she liked red-headed Irish, petite, and mature. At the insistence of several friends, I finally worked up the courage to approach her... in what I'll admit was a terribly cowardly fashion. I invited her to my place (with another friend) and as she went to leave that night, I made something up about needing to get something from the truck. So I followed her to her car, and randomly blurted out "So uh... are you dating anyone?" Upon receiving a no, I said something about having a crush on her, waited probably three seconds, then laughed and turned away to walk for the truck, saying "Ah, well, I didn't expect anything, I just wanted to get that off my chest, I guess." She didn't respond, I never really got to see her expression, and when she left I smiled and waved. I decided I'd been turned down and started to prepare myself for whatever awkwardness or ridicule I was determined would happen. And then I went on a road trip with my parents and the only thing I heard from her was her facebook status, just before I left "You say that and then just walk away. I am in shock, yet I can't stop smiling. biggrin " -- not directed at me, pretty ambiguous, I didn't know what to think of it. Awhile after I came back, I found myself alone with her in her car, and I worked up the courage to ask in some awkward, halting series of sentences that I'd rather not repeat, if she returned my affections at all. And she admitted that, yes, she'd held a crush for me for even longer than I had. That was ~seven months ago, and we're still happily together, despite rampant opposition from my mother and terribly conflicting schedules. heart
OK, now that I've thoroughly embarrassed myself and feel like a total sap, it's your turn~

Mines no way near as cute, but I was at the time working for my partners dad at his pub which was right neer Twickenham rugby stadium. So as you can imagin it gets very busy on match days so he asked his sonto come over to help out. I remeber the first words I said to Ken when I got into work that day; "I do work here you know" xp Bearly spoke to him that day then the next day he was hagging around jst to help out (otherwise know as spending the day drinking!) He told me to smile, so I told him to ******** off! I'll smile if you tip me or buy me a drink. So we went out for drinks when I had finished my shift and talked (and drank) the night away... The next day we went and got a tatoo. Nothing so stupid as our names. The he went back home to his girlfriend eek He was back up the next week for a stag do and we just sort of went from there, he moved in with me and fell out with his dad.
We have been together three years now biggrin

I was mad at my ex, My fiancé was there and attractive.
We were FWB for about 6 months, then we realized that we talked daily and for hours on end and decided to just date!

Well my i was like crushing on my friend for about a year but i figured she wouldnt feel the same way as me. And whenever i asked myself how i felt about her i'd deny it because i was sure she wouldnt accept it. I went over to her house not too long ago and i wanted to know how it felt like to kiss a girl(i fantasized about that alot) so.... we kissed and i felt really nervous after that. But i told her how i felt and she admitted that she felt the same way about me..... and we started going out

"Sex, fashion, love, fashion...I actually met my girlfriend on gaia (yeah I know it is not the best to meet people online). I was talking to her in the lifestyle discussion forum, and we became friends. After about a month of talking through pms and comments, I knew I had a crush on her. Though I didn't want to admit liking a girl, I stopped talking to her for about a week, which was the worst week of my life, I ended up caving and began to talk to her again. About a week later, I was helplessly in love with her, so I dropped a few hints here and there. Eventually I just had to tell her, it was almost an urge to, so I did, and here we are together almost a year later. ...sex, fashion lust, fashion"

I met my fiancé through a mutual friend. She gave him my MSN and told him that we're alike. He added me, we talked, liked each other from the word go. After a month I'd fallen hard for him, and I've become deeper in love in the two years since.

My new boyfriend and I have been friends for a year, now. We met here, on Gaia, in one of our guilds, and have been friends ever since that day. About 6 months into our friendship he told me he loved me. I had feelings for him, too, but was too scared by my past to act on them. He continued to do what he could to win my affections for the next 6 months.
A year later, I finally woke up and realized that there was a living, breathing soul that could love a broken person like me. I actually asked him to be mine on Sunday at 2:00 AM. He replied at 7:00 AM ( 3 PM his time), and his answer was, to put it simply, yes.
I don't know if I've ever been happier, and I can't wait for our adventure as a couple to really begin.

Long version: The first day of freshman orientation at college, I saw my current boyfriend sitting on a bench eating icecream and "chose" him. It was another 2 weeks before I saw him on campus again, and I started to figure out when and where our paths crossed. I slowly tried to make a presence in his life: I would show up in the mail room at the same time as well as in the dining halls. Turns out, both of us showed up to the first anime club meeting of the year: I sat behind him in the auditorium and introduced myself afterward. A week later we went on our first date, and a month after that he asked me to be his official girlfriend. We've been going out for more than a year and he bought me a diamond ring for our anniversary!
Short version: I tricked him into thinking dating me was his idea 4laugh

My boyfriend and I met online on a dating site that I had a profile on but never really used. My boyfriend is the only person that I went out my way to contact on that site and turned out he would be the first and last person I reached out to smile . I always thought that it was fate that the first and only person I try to talk to happened to have been the perfect person for me. Since he lives in TN and I live in NY, we talked every single day for a year before we even met in person. We've been together for almost 3 years now and we still love each other just the same, and we've visited each other lots of times. I know that long distance relationships are destined to fail but we've been faithful with each other and we make it work.

Ready for lols? Well here they come:
Me and my fiance/boyfriend (non-traditional couple, are engaged, but titles don't matter to us) met at band camp the summer between elementary and middle school where he thought I was beautiful on site and wanted to ask me out, but didn't have the courage. Long story short or paths crossed a lot in middle school, but I hated him for years until I saw him again our junior year of high school. When I broke up with my ex he was there for me and....well things just kinda worked out and here we are 4 years later with him finally getting me to realize I am bi and him fully supporting me finding a gf for myself XP

I was kind of strange how I got my current boyfriend. I have been friends with the guy for 2 years, at the time he was straight. Well 6 months ago I was on MSN chatting with one of my other friends who was planning to go out with his new guy for the first time ever. All of the sudden my other friend appeared online with a message "Can we Talk..." so I told him to come over and lets talk.
We sat down and talked for a while and all of the sudden he reached over and kissed me, and asked me If I can be his boyfriend. I was a little shocked at first because I just realized a straight guy kissed me, but I said yes.
at the same time my best friend was out on his date. I get a call from him, excited and hyper. telling me that He Just got a Boyfriend. I told him that I got a boyfriend, too. It just so happed that his new boyfriend and my new boyfriend asked at the same time. Its really a cool thing that ever happened.
Today me and my best friend have the most wonderful boyfriends ever. heart
