Mei's one bedroom apartment contains everything that had been able to fit in her apartment while she was a college student -- enough to fill a small living room and an even smaller bedroom. Because she just upped and left with all of her belongings and furniture, she was able to afford something a little pricier than her income provides. Still, it's a comfortable little apartment, and she tries very hard to keep it clean and in tip-top shape.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★ Lesley knocked Mei's apartment door. The woman had with her a large wheeled backpack. Filled with very expensive wines, along with a few less-than-rare alcoholic drinks. They were all form her little brother's liquor cabinet. Since the Sex Bullets were away she had access to whatever she wanted from them - without having to deal with their drunken drug induced babbling. On the other hand she had a few plastic bags, pretty heavy for her, so she had them near the floor. They were filled with foods that Lesley wanted to cook for Mei! Good ol' Hunter family cooking. On her back, she had some clothes... so basically she invited herself over to spend the night. Well it's Mei's fault for not inviting her to valentine's day! Now she has to deal with Lesley for a whole night!

 "Yusss...?" Mei asked sleepily as she opened the door, rubbing her eyes with her other hand. She had just been taking a nap. Why was she napping? She just had weird sleeping habits and had trouble sleeping through the night. "Oh. Lesley. What are you doing here?" she woke up a little more when she recognized her friend. Her eyes slowly traveled down to the bag. Why did she have a bad feeling about this?

[ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★ Lesley quickly invited herself into the home, walking past Mei. "You didn't invite me to valentines day so I'm inviting myself to spend the night!" Lesley said simply as she went over to the coffee table. She sat down the bags of food, and tossed her backpack onto the couch. Lesley then unloaded the wheeled bag, taking out bottles of wine, and a few bottles of very alcoholic drinks. "I'm gonna cook you some food, oh and we can drink some liquors, oh and! My little brother has some really expensive wine bottles, but he never drinks wine so I thought you might want to drink them with me..." She showed her the bottles. "This one is a Screaming Eagle or something? Oh and this one's a uhh..." She was looking at them to make sure what they were. "1945 Chateau Mouton? Yeaaah either way they're super expensive! My little brother's um..." Lesley looked awkward saying this. "He's the lead singer of the Sex Bullets. Soo yeah!"
Lesley quickly grabbed the bags and went over into Mei's kitchen to start to cook. "You get comfy! And drink or something, I'll start cooking~"

Mei really couldn't do much except to follow Lesley around the apartment and try to keep track of what she was saying. "You're staying over...?" she asked, looking for clarification. Not that she could protest; Lesley brought drinks and was going to feed her. So no complaints there! "'The Sex Bullets'? Is that a band?" Mei asked with a questioning smile. She was out of the loop. "Ohh, I know who you're talking about. He came into the clinic once, and bled all over the carpet! I didn't know he was your brother!" Mei had an almost frightening ability to remember names and faces. It was probably beaten into her at a young age by her father, since she attended so many functions throughout her life. Fully awake and feeling a little excited (she had never had a friend over before!) she followed Lesley into the kitchen. "What are you going to cook?"

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★ "Yes, they're a really big band nowadays, right now they're touring again so they won't be back until next month..." Stupid brother having stupid fun and stupid talent for stupid people! Lesley was hugely jealous of Mackenzie's talent. Lesley found her way around the kitchen, getting pans and getting things ready. "Well! I'm not good at cooking, but I thought maybe some catfish would be nice! Oh and since I suck at making other stuff, I just bought some potato salad and some coleslaw as sides~" She commented, pointing out the two containers. "It's gonna be real nummy!" It would taste like death which is why they have alcohol to make it seem like it tastes good. Lesley couldn't cook at all.

"Catfish?! Mei exclaimed, horrified by the idea. She wasn't sure what a catfish was, but she didn't want to eat anything related to a cat! Oh wait, that was an actual thing. And was just a fish. "You can eat that? Does it taste good?" Was it a normal American thing to eat?

Then her previous horror seemed to just fade away. Did... did Mei think she meant an actual cat that lived in the ocean or something? Lesley started to giggle at Mei. "You thought it was an actual cat didn't you? Jeez you're the cutest little fortune cookie!" Really, being afraid to eat cats? Didn't Mei eat dogs and whatnot where she was from? Of course she did. It was funny! She probably ate man's best friend but seemed weirded out about eating man's bitchy neighbor. "Yup! I'm just not very good at making it, so gotta fry it to be nummy..." She said as she filled up a pan with oil that she bought.
Once she heated that up, she simply tossed in the catfish. THIS WAS COOKING TO HER. Yeah! Looked good frying already! "Yep yep! We used to have this all the time, my brother's good at making it when he's not hammered. So maybe when he comes back I can try taking his booze away and he can make you some really good southern fried catfish." Lesley suggested as the catfish quickly fried in that pan... it already didn't look very good...

Wait wait wait wait wait. Did Lesley just say that she wasn't good at cooking catfish? Mei suddenly felt very nervous. She wasn't so sure about this anymore. Besides... Didn't cooking usually require some preparation? Not just throwing it into a frying pan with oil. "Uhm, I should probably give you some room," she said with a hesitant smile as she backed out of the kitchen. Once she was out of sight she began frantically praying to the gods -- any god, really -- that Lesley wouldn't start a fire.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★ Lesley sang happily to herself as she took out two plates to put their food in~ From Mei's point of view, she could probably hear the plates being handled... followed by a quick fiery sound, as if there was a quick grease fire! Followed by the sound of a fire extinguisher. All while singing Starry Eyed by Ellie Goulding to herself... or at least tried. At least her singing was unexpectedly pretty, to make up for the burning sound and the fire extinguisher noises that could be heard every now and then.
Once Lesley was done cooking, she split it between the two plates, and put lots of coleslaw and potato salad on the sides... at least those two weren't damaged by Lesley's awful cooking. The nurse made sure to salt the catfish too, maybe a bit more salt that a normal person is used to. Lesley walked out of the kitchen to the living room, setting the plates - and the required plastic utensils that Lesley bought, figuring Mei only had chopsticks - on the coffee table in front of the TV, then went back to get two cups... she figured it was the closest to wine glasses that Mei had. Lesley sat those down next to their food, before sitting down on the couch and looking over at Mei. "Food's done! Lets eat. Oh and watch TV. You cannot eat without TV, it's like... my family's tradition."

Mei had taken a seat on the couch and was staring intently at her lap. Sure, there were terrifying sounds coming from her kitchen, but it couldn't have been as bad as she was expecting it to be! ...Right? So she couldn't help but sigh when Lesley came in and there were no flames coming across the hallway. Yet the relief didn't last that long once she saw the actual food. The side dishes looked okay, but the fish...? It definitely didn't look undercooked, though, so she didn't have to worry about getting some sort of disease and dying. "Uhm, this looks... new." She couldn't think of many polite adjectives. "But yes. TV? I've never heard of that tradition before. Is it religious?" she changed the subject, grabbing the remote and turning on the TV before handing it to Lesley -- as the guest, she could choose what to watch. Besides, she didn't want to select something that would offend Lesley. Give her a break, she was practically raised in a box.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★ Lesley gleefully changed the channel to MSNBC, where "To Catch a Predator" was on. She loved watching ***** cry and go to jail! Lesley used her utensils to cut into the catfish and take a bite... she paused and swallowed quickly. Lesley put her fork and knife down and looked at Mei. "Don't have a bite yet!" The girl reached into her overnight bag and started crushing something... making sure to do it so Mei couldn't see. She then sprinkled white stuff on the cat fish, like a white powder, then sprinkled it on her own. Lesley then reach grabbed a bottle of rum and poured a bit on the cat fish, for flavor! "There we go! Perfect!" She said, taking another bite of her food. This time she looked a very pleased look... because she mixed the food with rum and with some of her brother's sedative drugs. Not enough to knock them out, but enough to make it taste good, and chill them both out~

Mei was too distracted by the TV to notice Lesley last minute changes. What was this show? Why was that man speaking so sternly to the other man? She didn't know what a 'chatroom' was either. If it turned out to be another computer thing, she was going to be mad... Well, okay, maybe not mad, but it would definitely hurt her feelings! Anyway, she just managed to miss Lesley add to the plate, and she looked at it suspiciously for a moment. It looked a little different. Still, Lesley was already eating, so it must have been her imagination. Taking a tentative bite, it took a lot of self control not to grimace. "...It certainly is... I've never eaten anything like this before, Lesley," she forced a weak smile. "By the way, what drinks did you bring?" she asked, turning her attention to the bottles. She needed something to wash the taste out of her mouth.

It's supposed to taste amazing.... b-but I'm bad at it. Don't worry, maybe one day I'll have someone who's good at cooking make you some!" Lesley reached at the table, grabbing one of the cups and holding it out to Mei. "Wine. It's super good since it's old and made of gold! Well not really, but it's really expensive so it might as well be!" Everything good was expensive after all!

Mei froze; she didn't mean to hurt Lesley's feelings AGAIN. She just wasn't very good at the friend thing! "N-no, it's not that... I've just never eaten this kind of food before, so I'm not used to it!" She hesitated before taking another bite. Well, it wasn't too bad now that she knew what to expect... Still, when Lesley handed her the cup of wine, she took a big drink. Just because it was better didn't mean that it still didn't taste awful! "I've never had this kind of wine before, it's kind of good," she commented as she placed the cup back down on the coffee table. "But are you sure that it's okay to be drinking it...?" Her father, the big wealthy, powerful man that he was, had a wine cellar, but never touched a single bottle because he was afraid of wasting the money. He was surprisingly frugal.
