Hurhur, behold the great Bapp, Kitchen Assistant on Probation! I get to wash dishes and deep fry unhealthy chicken wings! Savor my oily nasi lemak and curry!
Yar. Working in a Penang restaurant. Still on probation, but once I'm fully employed I hath a salary of $5 an hour as long as I work minimum 4 hours a shift.
And because exams are coming up (which I don't care much about) the school's conducting compulsory study sessions so I'm only be able to go online at the end of the day, tired and smelling of oil.
Hrm, actually I don't really need the money, but I want to justify my spending. I'll have less time to draw though crying Oh well. I'll squeeze it all in. I was intending to learn a bit of cooking anyway. Although maybe choosing a Penang restaurant isn't the best idea... Everything's spicy, and I can't take spicy food.
Apart from my now-hectic life, how are you guys (and your jobs)?

My first job was at McDonalds, too! *McHigh five* o3o/ My uncle owned a franchise and hired me and a couple of cousins over the summer for the lulz. I was 12 when that happened, by the way. I liked working the fries best; I had that s**t down to a science. xD Though I almost passed out once because of the heat.

Congrats, Bapp.
My dad got me my first real summer job as a teller at the bank where he worked. It was kinda hectic, and there was more pressure to get things perfect than I liked, but it paid ok.
And before anyone asks, no, nobody tried to rob the place while I was working there (though we did have training on what to do if someone did)

I worked as a temp agent at my Dad's office two summers ago, and then a few weeks ago I did the same thing. I don't have an official job yet, but I'm planning to apply to a local bakery as soon as my college schedule permits >.<
Good luck at your new job Bapp!! May you make lots of money and develop mad cooking skillz! biggrin

Came to inspections in Hawaiian shirts and gave his 4 year old daughter her own resturant. XDD I was there for 2 years and was the fastest cook they had (and cleanest because I drained the greese from the patties) The good advantage to that was i'd occasionally steal a nugget or 2 lol Fries weren't a problem, although for a 12 year old that'd be scary. I wish I could have had a job at 12 though damn child labor laws

@Panda- LOL for stealing nuggets. That's awesome. xD Dude, seriously, I was the Lord of the Fries. NO UNDERBAGS OR OVERBAGS WHEN I'M AROUND, NOPE NOPE. The fries counter at the franchise I worked in was close to the counter, and there was always that occasional customer who'd stare at me for the longest time and ask the older staff what a kid was doing working at McDonalds. It was funny. xD
@Bapp- No, the McPay isn't a lot, but the McSperience makes up for it. So it's all good~

Haha, I'm a deviant. My first job was Taco Bell. WOO!
Congrats on the job, Bapp. I wish I could go visit you while you work. It's customary to bother friends at their job, wahaha.

Maborofel All you lucky buggers making real money at real jobs...Still working the lawns, though that's dropping off, and I babysit occasionally Although next summer I'm planning to do lifeguarding, that should be a lot of fun Babysitting? I'd like to get paid for that. Day One of Work: WAS HELL. I was made to cut pineapples for 4 hours. Hard pineapples. Green ones. AGHSGFSJKOGGOS Anyway I've told them that I won't be working for awhile. Not because I got lazy (okay, maybe a little) but because my exams are coming up... Okaaaay that didn't sound convincing at all. But after work I just realised how little time I had. That bloody 4 hours of cutting pineapples could've been put to better use. And... Maybe I should try... to get a decent grade on my exams... for once... mayybbbeee... Anyone can tutor me on 4th year of highschool math?

Yikes. I suck royally at math. That whole 'asians can do math' thing is a LIE. Then again, I'm not full asian, so...
By the way, the mentioning of pineapples made me hungry. At least you weren't taking out the cores of tomatoes before running them through the manual slicing machine. I only say that because I never want to touch one ever again. (Sliced up my pinky bad. Subway, eat flesh.)
Speaking of jobs, I wish someone would hire me already. I want a paycheck to blow on useless things asap.
I mean hell, this store near my place is selling KUT-KU PLUSHES! KUT-KU! AND THE BLUE ONE!
Good luck with your exams, Bapp! By the way, your avatar is looking pretty dapper, I must say.
