The original family is the Torigami clan so they are considered to be the 'head' family. It's an avian clan full of ninja that have the ability to fly. Not all members are born with wings but, most are able to use a certain jutsu where they can grow wings if they don't have any already. Then they can make themselves lighter and buh bye! But there have been known to be 'defects' that never do fly. Really, there is no main house or branch house but for simplicity's sake, when referring to them all, we stick them in the 'Torigami' category. They believe that everyone is equal.
This clan is specialized in Genjutsu; Illusionary techniques.
