Okay, i didnt really know how to phrase the title XD but what are the rudest things people have done to you because of lolita? Strangers, friends, parents, whoever? Use this opportunity to vent biggrin

my dad he was all like why do you dress like that and then he went on some story about some 60 year old woman who dressed like shirly temple i was mad at him after that so i never ask him what he thinks what i look like when im wearing lolita D:<

I dunno ^^" i usually just get honked at.. which irks me.
most people think i'm dressed up like "Strawberry Shortcake" or "little miss muffet" or some kind of princess/fairytale related person, which is okay, i understand why they think that.
I get stared at, but usually no one really says anything to me. Usually when they do it is "what are you all dressed up for?" or "that's so cute!"

I've been given a lot of looks that basically expressed this:
"What century and/or planet are you from!?"
While asking for help in a very proper and mannerly way at the front desk of the video store wearing a red tartan Lolita dress, the lady had a shocked look on her face and told me:
"Wow, did you just step out of some British period drama or something?"

Oh dear. I could list things for hours.
When I first got into Lolita, I showed my mother the dress I wanted. She looked at me like I was mad and said: "I'm not buying you that foo-foo-frilly-girl nonsense! And I hope I never see you you wearing that." She prefers Visual Kei to Lolita, so that makes up a large percentage of my wardrobe.
I wore a gorgeous Lolita dress to school once. People stared at me like I was a freak. Some boy even threw something at my head. It missed, but still.
People walk around these days with almost no clothing on, yet I'm being made fun of? It's silly.

After suggesting that I'd start wearing more dressy (lolita) clothes my boyfriend started laughing...
I don't know if it's the worst thing that's been said to me but it hurt the most...

Haha, people say the same to me quite often. Some people even call me "Dollface" because of it. There are worse nicknames out there, so it doesn't bother me.

Haha, people say the same to me quite often. Some people even call me "Dollface" because of it. There are worse nicknames out there, so it doesn't bother me. My grandmother told me that I remind her of a doll when i dress in loli biggrin I was actually flattered, when i first got into Lolita that was exactly the aesthetic I wanted.

I'm more of a goth than a lolita. However, I was a gothic lolita for two years, and most recently have been falling back in love with the frills and dark lace which I use to have embroidered unto my very heart. However, I will name some of my experiences while I was a gothic lolita 3 years ago.
For one, getting honked at. This happened countless times, and still happens quite often.
For two, people assuming you are in a play simply because you are dressed quite Victorian.
For three, I once had an English teacher who called me out in front of the entire class for being a "lolita"... yes, he heard what I called myself, and got the wrong idea. So, for some time, I had to deal with people and teachers thinking I was a whore in frills who targeted elder men. I'm sad to say that, despite being a Christian goth, I only managed to fully forgive him and let it go once I found out he and his little boy had cancer, and his wife divorced him.
Also, I read a comment about someone here having their boyfriend insult them for their style or laugh... I'm so sorry. My fiancée got with me while I was a gothic lolita, so that is one thing I have never had to go through. Things get better love, things get better.

I just get laughed at by passersby some times. And I get countless "Have you lost your sheep?" comments.
However; I've found that countless little old ladies really like it, and I really like that. :3
Also, creepy old man stares are creepy but i do must best to ignore it and keep my poise.
