Name: Gale

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Element: Air/Wind

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Physical Description: A curvy young lady with a wild shock of violently curly purple hair that poofs around her head in a fuzzy halo. Her eyes are a brilliant and charming violet, with premature laughter lines sneaking in around the edges. Her outfit is a traditional toga with plain leather armor underneath; she deigns to wear leather toeless leggings instead of shoes. She looks younger than she is.

Biography-in-Brief: Gale was born to a nomadic tribe deep in Hestteka. The tribe is small and operates independently from the theocracy of the rest of Hestteka, uninterested in the apostle. Only one Adept is naturally born into her people’s tribe every generation; it seems to be hereditary. The Adept is given the ceremonial title of ‘Guardian’. The Guardian’s job is to seek out new holy places for the nomadic tribe, and bless them. The idea is to keep the land pure and pay respects to the power of the elements. Thusly, when she turned sixteen, Gale was sent off by her adoring family and tribe to explore Weyard. Her pilgrimage will not come to an end until she discovers a treasure to bring back to her people. The treasure could be something physical, or it could be a precious piece of knowledge. Gale herself has not yet found this abstract treasure. In her travels she has become quite competent at fighting off monsters and manipulating the wind.

Gale’s first Djinn was gifted her by her parents as a farewell present; her father had kept the Jupiter elemental ‘Zephyr’ in his party when he was young and an adventurer himself. Gale came across her second Djinn, Fever, on accident. On her travels toward the Jupiter Lighthouse in Aerius, she stopped to rest in a shallow limestone cave. While in the cave, she saw a flickering light in the back; intrigued, she approached. The light danced away. Gale, being the curious sort, continued to pursue the flickering light until she trapped it in the back of the cave. It was a Mars Djinn by the name of Fever - and he put up a fight. Gale defeated him and he acquiesced to join her party. He does not get along particularly well with Zephyr.

Gale’s goal is to find the elemental lighthouses where the stars were initially found and perform the traditional blessing ceremony on them for her people. This task is more complicated than it sounds, however, due to the strong, numerous monsters plaguing Weyard as of late. She is motivated by a desire to do good wherever she goes - and, simultaneously, to seek out and destroy that which she perceives to be a threat to the balance of Weyard. Her faults are flighty lack of commitment and occasional airheadedness. Gale has run into complications in her journey; the farther from home she journeys, the tougher the monsters are. She is beginning to think she might need companions on her quest to bless the lighthouses and find a precious treasure for her people.

Starting Statistics
The benefits from armor, weapon, and equipped djinni have been calculated.
Class Pilgrim
Level 10
HP 99
PP 76
Attack 43
Defense 38
Agility 72
Luck 11

Starting Equipment
Ceremonial Rod Attack +11
Staff-class weapon. Its Unleash effect is Psyphon Rite, which is effectively a standard physical attack that adds 14 damage points and then modifies the resulting damage based on the user's Jupiter power and the target's Jupiter resistance. It may also seal the target's Psynergy.
Travel Toga Speed +5
Leather Armor Defense +7
Bracers Defense +2
Ceremonial Circlet Defense +4

Review
Gale has terrible defense and hit points. She is wickedly fast, however, a virtual blur on the battlefield, and her energy to manipulate the wind (PP) is hefty. She is also unusually lucky. She would do well to have a party so that monsters’ attention will not be targeted solely on her.

Starting Djinn

Writer's Notes Will update with a picture when it's done; I just have a sketch right now. ^^ Please feel free to offer feedback and let me know if anything needs to be tweaked, edited, or fixed to better fit the world of Weyard 500 years ago!

I am aware that we are supposed to begin with only one Djinni; however, I am determined that Gale have Fever and Zephyr both for several reasons, first being that her class is required to have one fire Djinn at least, second being that she has been questing for a month or so and has run into a Djinn (though is not so lucky as to have coincidentally run into another Jupiter djinni; the likelihood of that happening is small). Someone with authority please confirm that this is acceptable? ^o^

Well in my own opinion on a statistic level, she has semi low status compared to all of us ( I'd use myself as an example, but I'm a tank so I guess were actually sorta balanced), seeing as we have someone at level 26, an all powerful bad guy, Drake, and two other people [ quite concidentally Fire Adepts! THE LOT OF THEM! D; ] so I can see some merit in giving her a second djinn, though of course you could just have one djinn and have your class called Pilgrim. We aren't too focused on the game's status, seeing as I practically tossed them out the window myself ( lololol I hit people with shields made of rock!) in the name of creative justice, with my own psynergy and class branches.

So I'd approve it yet at the same time I suggest a work around. Either way, I'll wait for the opinion of a fellow mod before we can make a clear cut jurisdiction.

@Rayl: Cool, thanks for looking it over. ^^ Hopefully another Mod can give an opinion, too. Her stats were initially higher, but I would rather have a weak character and work to be stronger than be unrealistically overpowered.

I think, to compensate for her weakness, I'll increase her speed somewhat, and attack slightly. Also, added 'Healing Wind', which is basically Ply palette-swapped. Let me know if that's okay!

I see no problems with the additions, but feel free to add different types of psynergy if you'd like...or go balistic like I did, adding just about every psynergy I could get (with the levels and what all else.) for a normal Venus Mono Elemental Djinn combo. <__<;

but I'd say increase some of your stats a bit more, seeinga s you are level ten and all.

Also take a look at this link to get a better idea for your healing wind

@Rayl: Okay, I updated her. She now has a bucketload more Psynergy (within her level of course) but without the stringencies of the game limiting the selection so much. Also, raised her stats to be more comparable to her level.

Bonus: I made a banner for the guild, posted in the Banners thread. biggrin

I think it looks good, but again I think we shalt wait for a second mod's opinion for the second djinn. However, should that be denied, you could just make Wanderer as your custom class, and could rank up to Nomad, then Pilgrim ETC. And if the second djinn were denied all you would REALLY need to do is remove access to Volcano psynergy. 3nodding

P.S. Why does everyone have a special weapon but me! -looks at pathetic makeshift sword and cries manly tears-

@Rayl: XD Haha! ~pats your back~ It's not how fancy the sword is, it's the size! WAIT, CRAP. I mean, it's not the size of the sword, it's what you do with it!

I think.

And the Ceremonial Rod is just a palette-swapped generic item from the game. XD

.____. Terrible Innuendos are terrible (recalls Mel Brooks' Men in Tights)

Not like the color swap matters anywho, seeing as we can't see it anyways, so you probably could be elaborate on it anyways.

@Rayl: Oh, sorry, I must have been unclear. XD I play too much D&D, and 'palette-swapping' is a term we throw around. It has nothing to do with color; it basically means the item/ability is the same as another item, with a different 'flavor text'/description/physical appearance/phenotype.

And as for seeing her abilities in action... we'll have to RP and find out. ^-~

Also, Men in Tights is amazing XD Always makes me crack up.

Bonus: Added her picture finally, it's sketchy and garbled but it gets the idea across! XD

-cries manly tears because his drawing abilities are lackluster-

Anywho it's a nice picture, just to keep me from spouting a waterfall of words.

And for us in the spriting community, Palette-swapping is...well, swapping palettes, and is typically a rookie thing to do (In the Fire Emblem Roleplaying Community that is.) since you just have to do the eraser trick in paint...which I only just learned of, so I used to spend hours going over every single sprite

<________<

And yes, we must roleplay together then. Hence I'm going to accept this and be done with it. (and since Kiedy is on, chances are she'll come in and accept or deny. If denied just remove volcano and the mars djinn but you could keep the class name GS RULES BE DAMNED! @w@)

@Rayl: They are not lackluster! I love your spriting. Also, I should totally have realized saying 'palette-swapping' to a sprite artist would obviously mean switching out the colors. @_@

And please, go ahead and spout a waterfall of words, I don't get enough feedback on my pictures as it is.

Thanks for accepting Gale; I'm going to make a thread in the Main Story section in a few minutes! Kiedy said to just listen to you regarding whether the abilites are acceptable or not.

Or your could just join our group. And yes, my artistic capacities with pen or pad are terrible, and my penmanship is on the same grounds. Thus I resort to painstaking measures to ensure my writing is of top shelf quality to compensate. ;3

And I'll send you my full critism and praise later.

Nonsense! Considering I can barely draw stick figures. Oh but you know what they say about artists: Either they gloat about their work, or they doubt their work. ;D

@Rayl: I don't doubt my abilities, but I do know the difference between a fast sketch with color slapped on and this XD

PS. I made a thread called the Winds of Fate; we can RP there! smile
