In the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes we forget that we are Human. We have the ability to look at things and ask how or why? We have the ability to touch the lives of others. We can form relationships with people that could never be broken and just as easily sever ties to another. In this never slowing world we forget as humans to act humanly. We forget to do the things that make us what we are, Human. We forget to laugh, smile, cry, fall in love, break hearts... to create moments in life, be they good or bad. We forget to do the simple things in life that remind us that we are alive. Thanks to all the medical and technological advancement human DNA has morphed to such an extent that Humans are barely human at all. Sleep, food, and drink are no longer necessary to live.

Despite the changes in society there are those of us who want nothing more than to feel human again. So here we are, humans who have forgotten who we really are, trying to find something, anything, that reminds us of what we have lost, the Dynamic of the human spirit. Advancement has destroyed us, but its also going to be our savior. You are approached by an individual claiming to have a solution to society’s problem. You were given nothing more than a slip of paper with a time, date, address and a set of directions accompanied by a promise of your safety. It’s your choice. Do you go and try and change the world you live in or will you just sit there and waste your life away, alone in mediocre happiness? Will you be a coward afraid of making something of yourself or will you be something more? You have the opportunity to do something great with your life. Something you will make the history books for. After all, what’s the point of living life if no one’s going to remember it?

"Welcome, welcome… It took some time to gather you all here today... I pray my efforts wont be in vain. Now I'm gonna cut to the chase... i don't have time to do otherwise so listen and listen well. The information I'm about to give you is classified. After you have been given all the necessary information you will be allotted a five minute period in which to decide your fate. Don’t waste it. Let’s begin shall we?

Welcome to Aegis. We are an organization that has silently been working to bring back the natural order of things. Silent…until now that is. As we speak the government is working to launch a project that we have spent years working on. Perfecting. Perhaps we waited too long… One of our own has sold us out to the government taking all our research with him. Thanks to this little... mishap... we are forced to move forward with our plans before we are eradicated, before it’s too late. I wish I had more time to explain things, but unfortunately I don’t. It’s dire I only give you the necessities.

With that being said… This is project Sol. Thanks to all the advancements in technology over the years we have found a way to create the ultimate weapon. A weapon in the form or a living being, properly named, Sol’s. Sol’s are humanoid creatures made from a shard of a human’s soul. They are very complex things. They are mostly human, the only exception being a small portion of the heart which we had to alter in order to create a stable environment for your soul to reside in. Because they are made from part of a human soul, one will not be able to travel very far without its host. The closer the host and the Sol are, the deeper the bond is, the further they can travel without the other. The farthest we have recorded a Sol being able to be away from their host is a few hundred feet if that. Should the host or their Sol travel outside of the available distance both will experience excruciating pain which will only increase with distance until eventually you die. Keep this in mind… it’s very important… if the host dies then the Sol dies and vice versa. One cannot exist without the other.

Sol’s have a rather fast (never immediate) recovery time due to a heightened metabolism. For example, a wound that would take the normal human a week to recover from would take a Sol a mere day. However, this increased metabolism rate also means that they require more food-- so that'll be a bit out of your budget. Yes, you must feed them. The plus side to this is that-unless you never feed them-the Sol will always be in shape. It is near impossible to have one be overweight. Their main worry is becoming underweight. Despite being created from part of a humans soul, Sol’s can take on any appearance -- any gender, any ethnicity, and any personality. In fact it’s very rare for a Sol to look anything like their Host.

Now onto the fun stuff… Each Sol has one special ability given to them… yes, you heard correctly, one. It is impossible, in fact, it’s rather inhumane to try and embed more. It would overload their genetic code and that would be a massive waste of my time and your DNA. Now although the Hosts appearance does not decide the Sol’s they do decide the ability… to an extent anyway. It’s based off of the Hosts soul. I have nothing to do with it. Also, no two Sol’s have the same ability. I’ve seen shape shifters, elemental control, and many more. Like I said though, it all depends on the Hosts soul. All Sol’s have the ability to be stealthy, dexterous and adept with weapons.

And before you can ask and I do get asked this a lot… I have no idea if the Sol’s can mate, or love. I didn’t make them to do that. They were made to kill. I will say that they always surprise me… I didn’t create them to have personalities but they all do – each more different then the next. So I guess I do believe it’s possible for them to love… Although…how messed up would you have to be to do something like that? I mean, really.

With all that being said I will give you exactly five minutes to make your decision. Time is of the essence and unfortunately we don’t have a lot of it. This is your one and only chance to do something useful with your life. You can join us and fight for humanities sake, or you can walk away and watch humanity wither away into nothing. The choice is ultimately yours. Fate is what you make it…"

Literacy
I’m not going to dub this semi-literate, literate, or advanced literate or anything like that. I simply ask that each post be 400-500 words at the very least. More is loved. I understand writers block but no one liners. Ever. It’s not difficult to post a paragraph or two. Use spell check. It’s your friend. You can keep track of your word count and spell check using any writing program such as Microsoft word. Use “ “ for dialogue, italics for thoughts, and type in third person. Please use //, [ ], { }, or || for OOC. Something, anything to set it apart from your post. No chat speak unless it’s in OOC.

Appearance
Decorative posts are loved. Add a picture, a quote, some lyrics, color, link a song, anything you feel that would make the post pretty. If you don’t like doing decorative posts I ask that you use a little color in your post at the very least.

Do’s and Dont's
Action and violence are allowed and expected here. If I don’t see people getting shot, stabbed, beaten and battered or any other form of injury, I’m going pitch a fit. You really don’t want that to happen. No one is all powerful or infallible. Romance is allowed, but keep it at a decent level. Kissing? Yay! Hugging? Alright. Cybering? NO, NO, NO! It’s not allowed. Don’t even take it to pm’s. I don’t want it mucking up my rp nor do I want anyone to get banned. For the love of god, do not argue in the rp. If you have an issue with someone pm me and I will deal with it. If you feel you must take care of it yourself take it to pm’s. As always, do not power play. The only character you are allowed to play as is yours unless it’s been okayed with the other roleplayer and I am told directly from them that it has been approved. I know some of us have lives outside of gaia, i am no exception, but please, please, please, do not post once and never come back. Nothing pisses me off more. If you are gone for an extended period of time please let me and everyone else know you are going to be gone and around what date we can expect you back. It's not fair to leave people waiting.

Character Creating
Do not alter my skelly. I like it the way it is and it should remain as so. The only thing you may change is the coloring order. Dont forget to take out the POSTCOLOR1, POSTCOLOR2, and POSTCOLOR3 out and insert the colors you intend to post with. Fill out everything in the skelly unless stated as optional. Include pictures in link format where they are needed or wanted and such. No Mary sues or Gary sues. You may play as a max of two characters, one Sol and one Host. Do not create two characters and not rp as one of them. If you make two I expect them both to be used. I will allow you to match yourselves with partners. You must pm the other for approval first, otherwise I will match you up. All characters should be sent to me for approval. If your going to side with Aiges pm it to me title Lux Accompanied by host or Sol If your siding with the government title it Nox accompanied by Host or Sol. Ex: Lux: Sol, Lux: Host. Nox: Host, Nox: Sol. After they have been approved please post them in the character thread.

Aegis was formed in the year 2019. It started out as just a small group of scientists who left the services of the government after the mass release of an experimental drug, or super pill, which was supposed to be for military use only. The pill was supposed to rid of hunger, need for sleep, and thirst all at once. Its soul use was for it to be used in times of war only. It was a way to boost our soldiers and win wars easily. Three years after its creation it was released to the public in the form of a vaccine.

After branching from the government Aegis spent the next five years researching a means of counteracting the drug under the silent sponsorship of a very wealthy man. By the time they had successfully created a counterpart to the vaccine it was too late. In the year 2024 a child was born with the effects of the vaccine already in effect. After it went public more children effected by the vaccine began to emerge from the woodworks. Aegis was forced to put a stop to their research and as ordered by their sponsor moved to finding a way to put a stop to the government’s attempts of playing god.

In 2025 Aegis was approached by a young Doctor Geretti claiming he may have an answer to what they were looking for. He was taken to meet with their sponsor by the only one who knew who he was. There he gave his proposal for project Sol, bringing with him the only proof he had that it worked, his Sol. Having highly impressed their benefactor Geretti and his team were brought in to become part of Aegis. Project Sol was launched in full a week later. In 2030 the first batch of Sol’s were created. Shortly after their creation Aegis got their first taste of betrayal. One of their original members took copies of all their information regarding Project Sol and sold it to the government. Aegis, days after the betrayal, dispatched their agents to begin the process of recruiting more like themselves.

As we informed you of before Sol’s are humanoid beings created from part of your soul. In this guide we are going to try and expand a bit more on how they were created. Sol’s start out as the shard extracted from your soul. Its essence is scanned and entered into the system before it is implanted into the core of one of our dolls. From there the dolls system is booted and triggers an aggressive DNA mutation in which the dolls begin to take on their individual unique features. Within minutes the Sol should be alive and well and fully functional. From there the rest falls to you... First step is to give them a name.

Once your Sol has been created there are a few things you need to know in order to be the best team possible, and successfully complete our mission.

Oo1. Now that you have become a member of Aegis under our Sol project you will be hunted by the governments best. We apologize for that in advance.
Oo2. To ensure your survival it is important for Host and Sol to work as one. Rid yourself of any thoughts that host and sol are two different beings. Your life is their life and vice versa. Remember they were created from part of you.
Oo3. Because they were made from part of you, Host and Sol cannot be apart from one another. Distance is something you cannot have. Strong bonded Sol’s and host's can only be a few hundred feet from one another before their lives are put at risk. With weak bonded Sol's it varies. It is dire that as soon as your body starts giving you the warning signs (sweating, trembling, possibly convulsions, head pains, blurry vision, and ect) to get as close to your Sol as quickly as possible.
Oo4. The bond between Host and Sol is essentially what will ensure your survival. The closer your bond is the stronger the Sol is and the further you can be apart from one another and not feel the effects. The Sol will always know when the Host is in any form of trouble.
Oo5. You must feed your Sol. Without the necessary nutrition the Sol’s health will fade, thus so will the Hosts. Due to their enhanced metabolism they eat a bit more, and often then an average Human.
Oo6. Remember that the Sol is a weapon. It’s the Sol’s job to protect its host as well as help take down the government.

Shoot out all the lights, hold your ground, we'll hit the sky
It's time you aim your arrows high
Take down all the doubt, cast it out, let's do it now
It's time we aim our arrows high

Claire kept her back pressed against the cold stone wall, keeping her breathing slow and silent. Behind the wall a meeting was taking place to discuss future plans for their version of project Sol. This is why she was here, listening in on the hushed conversations which drifted out the slight crack in the door. People can be such idiots. She had to give them credit for one thing though; they were smart enough to not let anyone with a sol be on present in meetings such as this.

She turned and slowly made her way back down the hall as the meeting had fallen to simple chatter amongst those in the room.
“Humans have such weak minds… Paranoia. Anger. Jealousy. Hatred. The race is going to be the death of itself and this planet. It’s not really surprising that things have come to this.” She paused outside the door three doors down and looked back over her shoulder. She slipped into the room and slid into a chair next to Dante. They had been called in to receive a new assignment and were currently waiting for Dr. McNair, head of the project. “That was a waste of time for the most part. They are talking about attempting things that we already know to be impossible. They want to find a way to make us more powerful, add more abilities. There was talk of testing implanting multiple soul shards into a single doll. We already know that It’s not possible for Sol’s to have more than one ability… I suppose if they reconstructed our bodies to make us less human then we are, I could see it possibly working with some sort of implant or something but not any other way… One ability, fast regeneration, heightened senses, and a bottomless pit for a stomach are were all we were constructed to have. Not to mention the dangers that could befall the host with taking another portion of their soul. It’s…” She was cut off by the sound of the doorknob turning.

“Sorry about the dely. The meeting went a little longer then we planned.” Dr. McNair sat down in the chair on the other side of the desk and examined the two of them. His eyes stopped on Claire who tilted her head to the side in a questioning manner. “Curious, have any weird feelings lately Claire?”

“What do you mean, Sir?

“Well I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about. There have just been… a few flaws… with a few others that were made about the same time as you.”

She shook her head slightly, “There’s been no change that I am aware of.”

“Well, never the less I would like for you to stop by the lab and get checked out before you leave here today. Would hate to lose the two of you.” He said as he looked back and forth between them. “Anyway… that’s not why you were called here. I need you to visit this address… there is a potential host living there. Some of our agents who have been patrolling the area reported Aegis activity peaking over the past few weeks. We think they may be trying to recruit the same girl as us. You need to stop this from happening. I don’t care what you have to say or do to get the girl to join us, just do it. They’ve managed to get the last few we have been trying to recruit let’s not lose this one please.” He said as she tossed a file down in front of Dante.

Benjamen Randall Davis
"A chain is only as strong as its weakest link... Wonder who it is in this relationship..."

User Image

Benjamen was smiling as his cane tapped rhythmically with his walking. He bore no limp however, something he occasionally used depending on the situation. His frustration preventing him from caring enough to use it now. He and Elliot were strolling through a subterranean tunnel system under the permafrost in Siberia. It was freezing, and though usually Benjamen didn't mind that, this was a bit too much. The massive parka he was wearing wasn't helping very much. "Elliot, just a recap. We're doing business here, so you can't attack anyone until I give you the go ahead. They have my HK .45 up front, not that that's too much of an issue. In here, I am not Benjamen and you will not be Elliot. If you have a name in mind, tell me now." Benjamen said as he pulled the hood on his parka closer to himself. It had fur around the majority of the outside edge, and he wanted it closer, because he could.

Taking a candy bar out of his pocket, he looked at Elliot. "We're going to be in there for a while, eat. I think the good doctor would notice you opening it inside. It's not exactly professional." Benjamen finished as they stopped in front of an enormous steel door. "And please don't talk as much as when we were in Italy. It was distracting... Now, any questions?" Benjamen said as he prepared himself. He would need to limp as they walked inside. That was how he always smuggled in a weapon, and if there was a situation he would need to take his client as a hostage.

(Intro failure!!! Yay!)

"A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing."

Elliot bounced along next to Benjamen, hunger gnawing at her stomach. She didn't like this cold tunnel, it was too enclosed, she felt like the walls were going to fall in on them and then Benjamen would be dead and she would be too, and then she wouldn't be able to move anymore and that would be just so horrible... Her bouncy movements were helping her keep warm, though, and added with the thick parka she was wearing, Elliot soon felt almost toasty. The warmth made her even more hungry, so her mind instantly focused on the empty feeling in her stomach. Sure, she'd had a large meal not so long ago (approximately an hour ago), but she was a growing Sol, dammit! Well, in actuality, Elliot would never grow anymore, but she liked to use the phrase. Finally, the tapping of Benjamen's cane attracted her flighty attention and she realized he was talking to her. All she heard was "business" and "can't attack" and "not Benjamen, not Elliot." Her hearing was very selective at times, and in this case, it took out all the unnecessary words and gave her exactly what she needed to know.

"Not Benjamen, not Elliot," Elliot repeated. She nodded to herself. She wasn't stupid, she just happened to be easily distracted, and as such, she sometimes forgot what she'd been told. "In that case, I'm... Lucifer," she said with a grin. "Lucy, for short." When Benjamen produced the candy bar, she followed it with her eyes before snatching it out of his hand. "Thanks, er... whatever your name is," Elliot said happily, unwrapping the bar and nearly swallowing the thing in one gulp. Mmm, calories.

They soon came upon a door, made of steel, something Elliot did not have pleasant experiences with. Her instincts told her to smash whatever stood in the way, but when Elliot had once tried to smash through a steel door, it hadn't ended well. Add extra durability to a competitive nature, and you had Elliot, bruised and slightly bloodied three hours after she started. Benjamen hadn't been too pleased with her then, so Elliot had refrained from ever trying again. Still, that didn't stop her from glaring at any door with the smallest trace of steel reinforcement.

"Gotcha," she said. "But what'll I call you, if I need to talk?" she asked, crumpling the now empty wrapper and depositing it on the ground. The candy bar hadn't filled her up, but her constructed body was making good use of the energy it gave her. If things got ugly, she would have no trouble being the bulldozer she usually was. As it was, Elliot really wanted Benjamen to allow her to have a go at this door, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be professional... Bah. Instead, Elliot shifted from foot to foot, which was about as close as she could get to standing still.

Benjamen cracked a smile. "We'll stick to Lucy. I think Lucifer is a bit of a give-away that we're lying." Benjamen placed his hand on the door handle, "And you'll just have to pay attention to learn my code-name." The man opened the door then, smiling past his Sol.

Inside, there was a simple table in the middle of a large room. There were two other people on the side opposite them. One looked like a scientist and the other was clearly his muscle. Elliot didn't look like she could take him, but she would be able to toss him around like a rag-doll if the situation required it. Benjamen's smile was replaced with indifference. "Doctor Bordeaux, a pleasure, as always. This is my assistant Lucy." Benjamen stated, his cane still making a rhythmic tapping sound.

He was greeted with some broken English heavy with a Russian accent. "Sir Nidaga, please, sit down." D. Bordeaux insisted, indicating the chair that was his. There was only two chairs, so only Benjamen and Doctor Bordeaux would be sitting, Elliot would have to stand. Technically, she was supposed to be the help, so her calling Benjamen something more formal was appropriate as well.

Taking his seat, Benjamen continued with his indifference. "So, what can I help you with?"

"Well, firstly you can tell me where to find such beautiful assistants..." Bordeaux started. He cracked a smile at Elliot. He was rather creepy looking, his muscle a mountain of bald-headed flesh. Bordeaux himself was quite old, with one long scar along his left eye. He had five-o'-clock shadow at the moment, and he wore glasses. "But what I really want is simple. I need coneggtions," his accent slipping through more than usual, "I need bullets and gasoline. There is a meeting in Moscow in three weeks that could use a little, brightening up." Bordeaux explained. Benjamen had taken all sorts of jobs. Most were rather low on the morality rating. Anymore however, he had been leaning towards what good he could do. It wasn't healthy business though, so Benjamen always gave them a chance to redeem themselves. This was normally just to meet his price on the first go.

"That is something I can supply, good sir. I can give you the names and contact information, but you will have to negotiate your own prices with them. I however, ask for my own first. Benjamen grinning rather evilly. "Two million American dollars. One for the connections, the second for my silence. Well, our silence."

Doctor Bordeaux seemed a little taken aback. "You cannot be serious..." Bordeaux commented. Taking a deep breath when Benjamen simply nodded. "Mr. Nidaga, you don't see that as a little steep?"

"Certainly not. Silence in this situation is important for you. And you need the connections to get this off of the ground. This really isn't much. I'm practically giving you a discount." Benjamen explained. Bordeaux looked unhappy.

"I must ask you to reconsider, else my companion become irritable..." Bordeaux threatened. The large man next to him cracked his knuckles.

Benjamen simply chuckled, "I must advise against that Doctor Bordeaux. Lest my assistant lose herself..." Bordeaux grunted and the large man started to move towards the duo. "I take it you would prefer to handle it, Lucy?" Benjamen more suggested than asked, not moving an inch and maintaining his grin.

Elliot merely bounced on the balls of her feet on response, used to her host's mysteriousness by now. Well, chances were she wouldn't even be speaking. These kinds of meetings required more physical communication than spoken, really, and that was the kind Elliot was good at anyway. All she needed to do was smile and look pretty until Benjamen needed her. And he often did.

The Sol followed her Host into the room, eyes instantly taking in every detail. A wooden table with two rolling chairs, no windows, bare walls and floors. No escape routes other than the front door then, she surmised, walking woodenly after Benjamen. At his apathetic introduction, Elliot, already caught up in the game, smiled brightly and fluttered her lashes at the two, tilting her head in a disarming matter. The less intimidating she appeared, the more damage she could do later. But only if necessary, of course.

Dr. Bordeaux replied in a thick Russian accent, and Elliot took note of what they called Benjamen. Sir Nidaga? Benjamen did have a flair for the dramatic. Not in the least perturbed by being forced to stand, Elliot stood as still as she could, adopting a vacant expression on her face. However, she followed every word of the conversation between Dr. Bordeaux and Benjamen, even giggling in an embarrassed manner when the doctor called her beautiful. Inside, however, she was repulsed by his oldness and general grossness. As if someone of her caliber would ever work for someone such as him... Well, considering he was probably loaded with money, Elliot figured any girl would put up a pretty good act for that incentive.

She continued to listen as they talked business, doing her best to keep up her stupid act but keep an eye on the hired muscle as well. As soon as the conversation went sour, Elliot dropped the act and readied herself. Things were going down for the doctor, but she'd be relieved of her boredom. And that was what mattered most, really.

The large man started to make his move, and that was when Elliot leapt into action.

"Don't mind if I do, Sir Nidaga,"
Elliot replied with a determined smile. She launched herself at the big man, surprising him enough that he fell rather easily when she crashed into him. However, he had a fighter's instinct and started attacking her as soon as they landed. She let the punches connect because for one, she could withstand anything this tank threw at her, and second, well, it was easier to concentrate on just attacking rather than attacking and defending. Rolling so that she straddled his midsection, Elliot drew back her tiny fist and hit the man hard, though not at full strength, because she didn't want to kill him. Yet. The blow caught the man in the jaw and his fists fell to clutch at his mouth. Must've broken his jaw, Elliot thought idly. As he writhed in pain, he sought to bring his giant legs up to kick her, but she nimbly rolled off the man's body, avoiding the kick. On her feet in an instant, Elliot bent and grabbed the man by his throat, lifting him into the air with no more effort than lifting a small dog. However, she wasn't quite tall enough to lift him completely off the ground, but she got her point across as her relentless grip refused to falter under his scrabbling hands. Elliot held him like this until his eyes rolled back into his head and he went limp, fainting from lack of air. With a sigh of disgust, the Sol slammed the guard's comatose body onto the table right in front of Dr. Bordeaux, making the small table shudder and groan.

"You just made me irritable,"
Elliot snapped at the old man. "So either give Sir Nidaga what he wants or I'm moving on to you."
