Welcome to the Breeding Information thread. Here you will find all information and forms regarding breeding your Nequus.
General Breeding Information and Rules
If you are ready to breed your Nequus, please read all of the following information to ensure that he/she qualifies. When ready to breed, please post the appropriate form in the colorists thread, but only when it says Open. Payment must be made to the mule withing 24 hours of your couple getting rolled.
In order to breed a Nequus must have been an adult for at least one month. This ensures that you Nequus is indeed ready for the challenges of being a parent.
Only male/female couples may breed at this time. However, there may be special events open from time to time that will allow male/male or female/female breedings to occur.
If four RP's are given at time of breeding (at least one of which must be the two Nequus meeting each other) then an extra fruit will be given out.
Nequus do not require RP's for breedings at this time - although there are benefits for doing so (See above) At the moment I will accept a brief plotline or even idea about why the two Nequus have either decided to have foals...or if the parents are supposed to be surprised by this event a brief outline or plot relating to the discovery and reaction to the foals. This does not have to be elaborate or crazily detailed.
Each Nequus can breed a maximum of four times. Breeding can be done with the same mate each time or different mates. Males can breed right away, unless a single father, while females must wait for their current batch to grow to adults before breeding again.
If you cannot find a mate for your Nequus then you can opt to do a random breeding. In a random breeding you have the colorist will decide what the mother or father will look like and color the appropriate fruit based upon that. However, random breeding produce half the amount of fruit as normal breeding.
Cross breeding is allowed, and the foals will show traits from each parents. Crosses are put on different line art to make them easier to identify. Cross breeds are generally infertile, with a 1 in 10 chance of being fertile. Fertility will be rolled by the colorist and posted when the fruit are given. Crosses also grow slower than regular Nequus.
Number of Fruit per Breeding:
Normal Breeding: 2-6 fruit
Random Breeding: 2-3 fruit
Cross Breeding: 2-4 fruit
Growth Rate:
For both pure and cross breed Nequus it takes two weeks for the fruit to hatch into a foal. Foal to adult growths of pure breeds take one month, while crossbreeds, due to their stunted growth, takes one and a half months.
Pricing and Forms
Each breeding costs 15k and should be sent to the mule once the breeding has been accepted by the colorist. Payment must be made withing 24 hours of your couple getting rolled.
