Following the great Sozin's War in which the culture of the Fire Nation changed drastically, the people of the Fire Nation now have reverted to their old ways and now worship the spirits devoutly and regularly. The Royal Caldera Spiritual Abbey is a place of worship for many Caldera citizens and also hosts many of the city's marriages, funerals, and memorials. The Fire Lady is also coronated here.

The Caldera Abbey was already filled with rows of people. All of them were either invited guests, top officials, or other really influential people. Agagisan and Kikio's families were there as well.
Suddenly the door opened, and Fire Lord Luo Agagisan and his lover Kikio Kobayashi stepped in. As the music played, they walked slowly and carefully up to the front on a bright red rug. In the front, there were statues of past Fire Nation avatars and pictures of spirits. "Don't worry, Kikio," he whispered to her as they walked up to the front, holding her hand in an assuring way.

Kikio glanced around, slightly nervous. What is she screwed up or said the wrong thing? She wasn't used to being in front of such a large crowd of people. She held his hand as they walked, his words calming her down slightly. She glanced up at the large statues and paintings as they eventually made it to the front.

They finally reached the front and stood in front of the statue of Avatar Roku and the Great Sage, who was conducting the ceremony. The Great Sage glanced at them both, then began: "Do you, Fire Lord Luo Agagisan, take Kikio Kobayashi as your lawfully wedded wife, as witnessed by the spirits and Avatars?"
Fire Lord Luo Agagisan gulped silently and began, turning to Kikio. "I, Fire Lord Luo Agagisan, take you, Kikio Kobayashi, as my wife. I promise to be true to you and love you in good times and bad, in sickness and in health, through war and peace. I will love you and honor you throughout my life, as witnessed by the spirits and Avatars."
The Great Sage turned to Kikio and said, "Do you, Kikio Kobayashi, take Fire Lord Luo Agagisan as your lawfully wedded husband, as witnessed by the Avatars and spirits?"

Kikio turned to Agagisan and gulped slightly, "I, Kikio Kobayashi, take you, Fire Lord Luo Agagisan, as my husband. I promise to be true to you and love you in good times and back, in sickness and in health, through war and peace. I will love you and honor you throughout my life, as witnessed by the spirits and Avatars." She hope she said it right as she smiled at him happily.

The Great Sage nodded and proclaimed with a loud voice, "You have declared your consent before the spirits and Avatar. May the spirits give you their blessing. Now you may pay respect and bow to Avatar Roku."
Fire Lord Luo Agagisan knelt on a cushion, facing the statue of Avatar Roku. He picked up a few incense sticks and ignited them with his fingers, then stuck them in the censer and bowed to Avatar Roku. He motioned for Kikio to do the same.

Nao looked at Fire Lord Agagisan and Fire Lady Kikio. She could tell Kikio was extremely exited, as well as Agagisan. She crossed her finger that all would go well.

Kikio knelt down in the cushion beside him, taking the incense stick and lighting them. She smiled as she placed them next to Agagisan's and bowed. 'Oh please have me be doing this right...' she though.

Fire Lord Luo Agagisan sighed softly so that the others wouldn't hear. He was relieved that Kikio had done it right so far, and that there was only a few more steps to being married. The Great Sage gave both of them a cup tied to each other by a red ribbon, then poured rice wine into them. This was the one of the last steps. They were to drink their cup of rice wine together.

Couldn't they have practiced the ritual BEFORE they had to do it. She was completely winging it. She looked at Agagisan and waited for the time they'd drink it together.

Fire Lord Luo Agagisan smiled to Kikio, looking into her eyes. Just this and the kiss...On the count of three... one... two... three!, he mouthed to her. He slowly raised the cup to his lips and began taking a sip as Kikio drank hers. The red ribbon connected the two cups, symbolizing their marriage. The cups were made from the finest material there was in the Fire Nation.

When he mouthed three, she lifted her cup and drank the rice wine a long with him. She hoped they'd kiss soon, which was the part she was looking forward to in the ceremony. She glanced over at the crowds of people as they watched.

Great Sage took the cups and then declared, "The couple has drank the rice wine and payed respect to the spirits. I crown Kikio Kobayashi--" He took a headpiece similar to the Fire Lord's and placed it on Kikio's head. "--the Fire Lady! Fire Lord Luo Agagisan, you may now kiss Fire Lady Kikio Kobayashi!"
Fire Lord Luo Agagisan smiled, pulling Kikio close to him. His lips touched hers and he kissed her passionately as the people clapped and cheered. He felt her lips warm and her heart beating next to his. "I love you, Kikio. There isn't any Fire Lord Agagisan or Fire Lady Kikio between us. There's only me, Agagisan, and you, Kikio."

Kikio smiled and thought 'Finally!' as she kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pulled back slightly, "I love you too." She put her hand on his cheek as she kissed him again.

Fire Lord Agagisan smiled. "Well, this is the part where we're supposed to exit the abbey while being hit by flower petals. It could be worse!" he joked. Only Kikio could hear it because of the loud music and cheering. He stood up and walked down red carpet, arm-in-arm with Kikio. Flower petals rained on them and the people yelled ten thousand blessings upon their marriage.
