I've been monitoring the role-plays that have been taking place in this guild for quite some time and feel that you all are in need of some basic instruction. We all start out as amateur Role-Players, but without proper instruction and critique about your skills, how can you expect to improve and go from amateur Role-Player into veteran? I am here to present the basic rules of becoming a proper Role-Player. Why take my advice, you ask? I've been role-playing for about twelve years.
1.) When RPing, use the third-person format, not first. Allow me to provide samples of both.
See how much better the third person format looks than the first? First-Person is an amateur mistake in RPing and most every RPer frowns upon a person that uses first person. Leave that to your crappy Twilight books or diaries, please.
2.)Avoid Godmoding at all costs. Godmoding is when your character can't be harmed, duped, foiled, and always seems to land a hit on the other character. Godmoders also control other people's characters against their permission. Everyone that RPs loathes Godmoders and when I personally create a RP they are the first people that I kick out.
3.) On the same page of Godmoding, do not create a Mary Sue or Gary Stu character. I'll let the Wikipedia article speak for itself:
Definition of a Mary Sue
This is one type of character that turns my stomach. They're perfect in every way. Every other character wants them, or so the RPer of a Mary Sue tries to make it that way. They seem to have magical powers and can always outsmart the villain. Please, if you think you have a Mary Sue character, either tweak them or get rid of the character.
3.) Proper capitalization, spelling, and punctuation counts. Please, for the sake of the people you RP with, make your posts literate and easy to comprehend. Never use chatspeak, never forget your punctuation, and just because you're not in English class isn't a reason to get lazy with your posts. Here's three examples of what I've seen here:
James Took His Gun And Reloaded It As Fast As He Could. He Heard The Zombies And Wasn't Going To Go Down Without A Fight.
While that post is good, not every single word needs to be capitalized. It's a pain in the a** to read and it's just plain distracting. Remember that you only capitalize the beginning of each sentence and proper nouns.
Oh, my lord. This is a sign of pure laziness. How difficult is it to press the "shift" key and capitalize the proper nouns and beginning words of each sentence? Seriously, guys, don't do this! It makes you look illiterate and just plain lazy.
James had 2 run 2 the intersection & keep up w/Jessica. "I know where 2 go," he yelled @ her.
I can't even use 1337 speak, and if you know how NEVER EVER USE IT IN A RP! I can not stress this enough! You're not texting on your cellphone, you're using a computer or laptop with a full keyboard in front of you. Use it! I recommend people in charge of RPs to kick 1337 speakers out immediately if they refuse to change to a more literate form of RPing.
These are the main rules that I think would help out the RPs here. Please read them and you, too, can be on your way towards RP mastery.

Who Needs Capitalization?
james had fallen asleep at the police office after the raid. jessica gave him a quick nudge,"are you alright? we need to go to lincoln avenue and meet up with the rpd."
