The War of The Eidolons and The Aeons
This is whispered in the many reaches of the floating continents. There are none who know whether or not these legends speak truth… but this is the eldest of all the folklore and the basis for most religion in the floating continents.
In the beginning there was Light and there was Dark. The two never touched, never spoke, merely watched each other through the universe, contemplating the existence of the other and what it meant.
One day there appeared a beautiful being that neither Light nor Dark knew from where they had come, just that he sat in the center of them both. They went to meet this person and in that moment they briefly touched each other.
From this collision of beings three Gods were born, Cosmos… Keeper of Order, Juubi… Beast of the Balance, and Chaos… Harbinger of Doom.
At once the three started arguing amongst themselves as the beautiful being watched…
Cosmos detested the perversion that the other two were, wanted the world to be completely full of light. From this wish, she created the Moon, and made her home there, creating beautiful beings that would bring nothing but light.
Chaos hated the light and wanted the sweet comforting darkness. He created the World Below and made his home there, creating his own children that would fight Cosmos at every turn.
Juubi did not see the point of the fighting and simply sat at the river separating the two realms where waited the beautiful being who smiled as he saw the results… and then as the last child of Cosmos was born he spoke for the first and last time…
The Eidolons shall be sealed, the Aeons shall run free… All will be lost and regained again before Light and Darkness become one… At the river the tear will be shed by the Youngest for her Eldest enemy, and in that, the world will end before it begins.
Cosmos was outraged as she heard these words, and ordered her youngest to never go near the river that separated the Moon and the World Below, the battlefield for her other children and their enemies, the children of Chaos.
At first, the youngest listened. She lived simply in the forests of the moon, caring for the small animals of light that lived there, singing for her siblings…
But then…
No one knows what drew her to the river that day… what is known is that she met the Eldest Aeon, who lay dying on the riverbank. It was her magic that healed him.
And in that act, she betrayed her own kind without ever realizing it. Cosmos sealed her wayward child herself, but was careless… Chaos saw how they were sealed.
In the next assault, the rest of the Eidolons were defeated and all sealed, thrown out from the moon.
However to keep the balance, Juubi intervened… the World Below started to quake and the floating continents rose to meet the moon, forming at the river that had once separated the two… and the Aeons were sealed as well.
Life was created… and the first of the humans found the Aeons…
They were easily corrupted and even Juubi lost sight of keeping the balance, momentarily saved from the corruption by the Legendary Sage, but then was separated and lost sight of the balance again.
Through this all… the Aeons found it easy to control their “hosts” and created clans and granted their powers to these easily corruptible humans…
The Eidolons were lost in time and the world, but even their influence was not lost… their gems touched the world and small patches of light were seen even in the humans touched by the darkest of emotions. In one village, one was even found, and granted long life to the members of the clan who freed it.
However, that village was destroyed and the Eidolon lost again. Rumors of another one found near Konoha surfaced, but none that could be confirmed.
Will the Eidolons ever be found and freed? Will the Aeons ever truly be defeated?
Or does the prophecy call for another meaning?
Only time can tell…

Akihiko, the Progenitor of the Aether was formed. He had no interests in the conflicts between Cosmos, Chaos and the Juubi, he remained unknown to the other three, his existence not even known to Light or Darkness, only that beautiful being that had been the catalyst for the creation of the 4 beings knew of his existence. He appeared physically to look like a human, garbed in beautiful clothing and bright glowing sapphire blue eyes, he was like the perfect human, but his power rivalled the three beings. He was partially responsible for the after-life, and the maintenance of it, but his true home was the Crystal Caverns that was the network and existed partially in a ring around the Moon, the river and the World Below. Invisible to all, he simply existed. That was until, when humanity was formed, he fell in love with a young maiden by the name of Myra. Eventually they got married and she lived with Akihiko, as his immortal wife. Their children would become the first Espers, so named due to their psionic abilities, and their elemental Psychokinetic abilities. They had been born with human forms, just that they were half-divine. The eldest were the twins, Hikaru and Kira. Hikaru was the Esper of Light, and Kira was the Esper of Darkness. Then after them were Rai and Aqua. Rai being the Esper of Lightning, and Aqua the Esper of Water. Then after them were Aguni and Yuki. Aguni was the Esper of Fire, with his twin sister Yuki being the esper of Ice. Then there was Terra and Ventus, Terra being the Esper of the Earth, and Ventus being the Esper of the Winds and the Sky. Then the lone child, Anya, the Esper of Flora, in other words plant life and healing. After her, were the youngest children... Akio and Hikari, Akio was the Esper of Gravity, and Hikari was the Esper of Twilight, in other words the elemental balance and combination between and of Light and Darkness. With the exception of Anya, the twins were espers of the elements opposite Each other, but Akio and Hikari were peculiar. Despite the brother and sisterly love between the two, they were very close, much closer than any of the other children of Akihiko and Myra.
There were 5 Female children of the union of Akihiko and Myra: Aqua, Yuki, Aguni, Anya and Hikari. On the other hand there were 6 male children of said union: Hikaru, Kira, Rai, Terra, Ventus, and Akio. But however, tragedy would strike thrice in the history of this family, which became to be known as the Akatokiyami family with Akihiko taking upon Myra's maiden name, not knowing if he had a last name. The first tragedy was the constant conflict between Hikaru and Kira, which would be understandable considering the stereotypical battles between Light and Darkness, and the fact that Hikaru was the Esper of Light and Kira being the Esper of Darkness. The second tragedy was when the young Hikari fell in love with a young Aeon, not knowing of the battles between Chaos and Cosmos, as none of the family did due to their constant attempts to stay out of the conflicts. However, Chaos' forces mistook the young Hikari as an Endolin, and was attacked, nearly killed, if it had been not for Akihiko's intervention, that would be the first revelation of the existence of the Progenitor of the Aether to the other three divine beings, but they didn't know much about this being, because afterwards, their attempts to find him would just end in failure. Meanwhile, the beautiful being from the beginning watched simply, interested in Akihiko's intervention. However, the young Hikari wouldn't live long, as she soon crystallized at her death from her wounds, sleeping in a crystalline cocoon that preserved her dead body and her lingering life-force, a fact that caused the young Akio much dread, he was the youngest out of all the male children, and his twin sister, who he very much loved had been killed. Day by day, the young Akio stayed with his sister, waiting for her to wake up from her crystallized slumber, repressing the fact she was dead. Akio's parents were very much concerned for the young Esper of Gravity. However, the third tragedy was the most disastrous to the family of Akihiko and Myra.
When Hikaru and Kira got into another fight, they started to try and erase each other using their psionic powers, however, Akio in his sorrow noticed the fighting, and just wanted it to stop, running in to try and get them to fight. However he had no chance to protect himself from the psionic blasts that Hikaru and Kira had released just between Akio tried to intervene. Akio was struck with the blasts from both, and his screams echoed throughout the Crystal Caverns, his psyche shattered. The other espers heard the screams of Akio and rushed to find what had caused them. They found Akio, laying motionless on the crystalline floor of the caverns, nearly motionless, crying, and in a faetal like position on the ground. The other espers were shocked at what Hikaru's and Kira's fighting had done, and wanted to go and restrain them. However, soon Akio rose from the ground, his eyes hidden by his hair, his long rose blonde hair concealing his forest green eyes, but then they heard Akio start to sing part of a song that he frequently listened to him by himself when he was alone with Hikari's crystalline cocoon. Akio's psyche had been shattered and so had his sanity, and the others weren't expecting a massive shockwave emanating from Akio to strike them all, when they recovered, they saw Akio continuing to sing the song, and then he was armed with a large scythe seemingly made out of gravity chakra, held in place by his psychokinetic powers. A single light blue energy feathered wing burst from his back, and there Akio stood, deeply trapped in his insanity, armed with a scythe, and a slightly transformed body, ready to kill his other siblings in his insanity. He perceived his siblings as the ones who caused Hikari's death, and the others tried to restrain Akio, but he threw them back with another shockwave.
They now knew that Akio planned to kill them all, it was a scary thought. They all knew that Hikari was dead, they didn't know what death was like, and they knew Akio had been emotionally and mentally fragile when Hikari died and denied the fact she was dead but still, this was a bit too far. Quickly, as if to make things more clear, Akio lifted Anya into the air, by the neck using Psychokinesis, and then promptly erased her, killing her, leaving behind her crystallized lifeforce. They were shocked, Akio would go as far as erase his siblings in addition to killing them, what foul demons had taken hold of Akio? They had no other choice, they had to kill Akio before he killed them. The caverns shook with battle, with Akio barely getting a scratch on him, but his insane laughter chilled everyone to the bone. 4 more of Akihiko's children were either killed or erased by Akio in his insanity, Rai, Terra, Yuki and Aqua. Now there was left were Hikaru, Kira, Ventus and Aguni. It was looking too grim to contemplate.
As if attempted to destroy them all, Akio called upon the full power of his Gravity Psychokinesis, enacting the forbidden and ultimate gravity technique... Gravitas Infinitum. A resounding shockwave shook through all the universe, the Moon and the World Below shook most of all. However Chaos and Cosmos had no idea what was happening, neither did the Juubi. What was going on? Soon, 2 more siblings lay dead, Ventus and Aguni. Hikaru and Kira looked at each other, they had caused this, but they had to put aside their differences in order to prevent their own deaths or the deaths of their parents. However, their attempts would prove in vain, as emotionlessly, Akio killed them both in the most horrible way imaginable. He turned them inside out and exploded them in the process. Now all of his siblings lay dead, and Akio at that point, recovered from his insanity, his transformation ceasing, his weapon disappearing, but he was covered in the blood of his siblings. He had no memory of what had happened, he snapped even more.
Wordlessly, he returned to the crystal cocoon of Hikari, still thinking she was alive, wanting to join her in the crystal. He tried his best, managing to phase into the crystal. But when he now slept in the crystal, he died, due to the crystal itself, his lifeforce trapped in the crystal as well, his body preserved in it. But now he was with his sister Hikari. After finding out, Akihiko was horrified what happened, his children were all dead, he now despised everything about Light and Darkness, including Chaos, Cosmos and the Juubi, it didn't help that Hikaru's powers were of Light, Kira's of Darkness and Hikari's of Twilight. In his rage, he entered the river, and laid waste to the Moon, the World Below and the floating continent, killing many in his rage while also sealing off the living's connection to the afterlife, causing the undead and unsent to rage across the land in agony of their denial of eternal rest. Manly were slain, the Moon and the World Below were devastated, their environments shattered. However, after he regained his composure, he returned to the Crystal Caverns, to be comforted by his wife. Chaos and Cosmos were shocked by all the destruction and the loss of life, they did not know what had caused Akihiko's actions, but something related to them had caused it didn't it. The beautiful being came to Akihiko and his wife, giving them a chance to have their children back, as long as their children lived on the floating islands, with no memory of what had happened. The couple accepted, hoping for the best. Sure enough, the children of Akihiko and Myra were reborn, living their lives on the floating islands, as the Akatokiyami clan, their parents having taken human form to keep them safe, but Akihiko made sure to safeguard them and protect himself as well as his wife from the other beings...
