I have photoshop 5.5 and have no idea how to make them. sweatdrop I read the other shading templates topic, but I couldn't make any sense of it, and templates would make life SO much easier. If anyone can explain it to me, I would... smother you with peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. biggrin

Well, I can sort of make shading templates (I can show you a sample of the template and then the thing i coloured using the template if you want), but I have adobe photoshop CS, so i'm not sure if it'd work the same way 5.5 does sweatdrop .

I'm pretty sure using Photoshop 5.5 has the features needed for a template. You know how to use layers and layer types(like multiply and screen?)? If so I can probably explain the basics. 3nodding

domokun ok this might be a dumb question but i've always worked alone and everyone else that was around me had no idea what i was doing when i coloring, so maybe i do know the answer to this question and i've just been calling it something else in my head, but what is a shading template?? I'm guessing its the lighting and shadowing layers that are used for a picture, that way you can color them again and again with out having to redo the shading... *shrugs* domokun

Actually, yes, Toaster, that's pretty much what it is.
DSF asked this question in another thread, and I think Terrenity and I managed to get most of the questions answered. Though if you still have questions, feel free to ask.

I think the other day I may have made a shading template by accident when messing around with mask features... but, when i pulled it up while working on another project.. I couldn't figure out how to get it to layer right.. so i may not have created it properly or something.. I also use PSP... however, shading is still my biggest area of learning right now.
