I want to get clear off the bat that I'm not talking about every christian. I am talking about hypo-christians, those christian hypocrites like Pat Robertson who say they believe one thing yet do another. I worry about the country when those in-charge are so closely identified with dark forces intent on changing the constitution and ruining the educations system of public shools

Radical people are dangerous.
I'm dangerously-radically-despotic about myself. But that's still in my head.
They're not dangerous in the way they'll burn everything, but they'll get a serious retard versus some other nations tho.

Not every one is an extermest. No, i don't think there a big thing yet. Though I think Islam is something to wach. There spredding prity fast and going in to most political systems that might bedome supper powers because of the wepon stores that they have. People who can press the buttion or turn the key think christions are the enemy. I'm not waching chrition extermistest I'm looking at Islam there the ones that could effect us now!

I'm new. :0 Just to get that out there.
Erm...I'm starting to get agitated with all the extremist Christian people out there. I wanted to go see Brokeback Mountain, which recently won four Golden Globes for its performance. Is it out where I am? No. Christians got it banned. (The movie is about homosexual cowboys)
I want to see a new show called The Book of Daniel, which is real tongue and cheek comedy of sorts about a preacher who has problems with his family. (This is a new sitcom) He pops pills and sees Jesus, his wife drinks martinis, his daughter sells drugs, and his kid is a homosexual.
After one episode, it's banned in some parts of my states due to Christians rioting against the whole drug and homosexuality issue. D: I want to be entertained! If they don't like it, they shouldn't watch it, for godsakes.

It makes me wonder why religion has such an impact on such large economies. I mean I know here in Australia laws against things like gay marriage are because of religion. And I know religion is to control the masses, but is it really working in the new millenium?

D: I want to be entertained! If they don't like it, they shouldn't watch it, for godsakes. That't too bad, because Book of Daniel is actually pretty good. I watched cause it's friday and nothing else is on, and I heard all the controversy, and I really liked it, theres a lot of good actors and interesting characters. It's actually a little too religious for my taste, but it's still good.

Pat Robertson, and all those stupid conservative talking heads on Fox are idiots. They are citizens though, and they are allowed to have opinions and practice free speech, but I dislike how they seem to turn opinion into "fact."

44% of Americans belive that in like the next 50 years Jesus will or probably will, and this is in a literal sense, decend from the sky and take the faithful up to heaven.

It's just dangerous for any one group to have too much power, and currently it seems to be right wing extremists.

The extremity of christianity is NOT a good thing, but in some cases I believe it is. As someone had mentioned in a previous post, having shows banned due to drug, alcohol, sexuality exposure I believe is not necessarily a bad thing ONLY BECAUSE people of ALL ages watch TV, although unfortunately by having it banned, it ruins it for everybody. I have seen that show that she spoke of and I think it's funny. I guess it's all about where society wants to draw the line and they just don't know where to because everyone has an opinion: understandable. Back to extreme christians, they can SERIOUSLY be a big pain in the a** due to their rioting about EVERY LITTLE THING, about rubbing their beliefs in everyone's faces and their discrimination towards NON-christians.
*I'm sorry if I offended someone in my above post*

~Spectrum Style~ The extremity of christianity is NOT a good thing, but in some cases I believe it is.... *I'm sorry if I offended someone in my above post* Don't worry about offending christians here, that is what this guild is for. It's a place for us to speak freely about our issues with such things. The only thing that won't be tolerated is flaming other members.

WHat bothers me mostly about the radical christians is the fact that, well, more then harassing my homosexual friends or my nonchristian friends, they seem more likely to destroy my christian friends.
Christians are the ones these people are a threat to more then anything.

pat robertson comes across like a minister but je's just a lawyer.
as such he has found that this tactic of pseudo christianity is a great way to get what he wants, money and power.
its the same for the administration. i believe bush is sincere, but Cheney and especially Rove who designed this strategy of politicizing the conservative christians, are just cynical politicians.
it's ironic how quickly times change. back in the heyday of civil rights and the peace movement, with the Rev. Dr. martin Luther King Jr., the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and the Berrigan Brothers, when somebody said "radical christian" they always meant a fire-breathing leftist.
i wonder where they all went?
