You know that point where a movie crosses the threshold of lame goofy corniness into something good? This movie crosses that line, and sprints into the field of awesome. The main star of the movie, and source of a lot of the fun, is the video game themed additions and editing. The movie's music makes for a very good supporting role, as it too kept with the sounds and style of classic video games while keeping things modern. Homages to classics and humor also added to the entertainment.
The action and pacing were excellent, much like a good... you guessed it... video game. The only thing that kept it from earning that elusive "+" rating, is that the endings/win-conditions of some of the fights were a bit anti-climactic or too "out of nowhere." That as its only flaw, "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" destroyed the other two big-ticket releases for this past weekend: "The Expendables" and "Eat, Pray, Love" when it comes to pure, fun, entertainment. This is a must see movie for the end of the summer season. You can't afford to miss out on the fun!
