Yes it is sad, in my first 18 years of life I had not yet gotten around to reading one of the most influential childrens books. I've finished the first two and I'm not stopping until I've read them all.
What I want to know is if anyone has any particularly great memories about this series. Also I know that there are a lot of Christian references and I'd like to know if this bugs anyone. It used to bug me because I'm atheistic but I guess I've gotten over it by now.

I only read the Magician's Nephew; The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; and Prince Caspian.
I saw the last two in their movie versions and thought they were both beautifully portrayed, even if Prince Caspian is a bit different from the book.
Good memories for sure. smile
My siblings and I have not been irritated by religious references in any book. I found the allusions interesting, but was not, of course, bothered in any way. smile
Just curious--and I mean in the kindest and most objective way possible--by atheist you mean that you believe there is no God-figure or that mortals can never realise or communicate with a God-figure if there is one, correct? How did the Chronicles of Narnia bug you? (Again, this is meant in the most un-offensive way possible to any and all faiths.)

Well it used to bug me because I was in a phase where I rejected anything Christian. Now I wear a cross everyday and still mantain my completly scientific point of view. biggrin

I've only read "The Silver Chair'..I felt it was a very enjoyable book..I couldn't put the book down. Every minute I read it, it gave me more and more fun. Now I'm 16, so I doubt I'll enjoy it the way I did before. Oh..I've read 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' too.
