What book are you reading right now? Just list the title and author, and if you feel like it, say something about it, like what you think, for example. Or you can just say what you're reading and leave.
And come back and update us whenever you start a new book. Let's see what people in this guild are reading these days. :]
Right now, I'm reading The Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath. From what I'd heard before I picked it up, I thought it might be a bit of a drag or kind of boring, but that's actually not the case at all. I can't put it down; I have to keep reading to see what happens next.

Funny thing about The Bell Jar. I bought my copy used and when I opened it I found a note to a previous owner. I don't remember the exact wording, but it was pretty much "Dear ----, This book was too boring for me so I'm giving it to you. Love, ----." Yes, it was that blunt. Good to hear you don't think it's boring though.
Anyways, I'm currently on a bit of a Philip K. d**k binge. I just finished The Man in the High Castle, The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, Now Wait for Last Year, and Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said. I'm currently on A Scanner Darkly.

Infinity Outlaw, have a favorite of his novels?
Reading Fool Moon by Jim Butcher, trying to pace myself instead of devouring everything I have and being left waiting for the next one in the mail. Not that this happens...to every series I read...or anything. >,>
Once I can read a bit more slowly, thoughtfully, I have about 10 books to review, such as Hunger Games.

I'm reading Further Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin.
It's really good! It's all about a group of people living in San Francisco in the seventies. Since I wasn't alive in the seventies, it's very interesting. biggrin

I've been going through the library and checking out Garth Nix books, currently I'm reading Shade's Children.
It's unique... All the humans above the age of 14 are zapped off earth and aliens of a sort came and rounded up all the kids to harvest their organs to be used in war games. Some kids escaped their horrible fate by escaping the "Dorms" using their special post-change powers.

Ubik would have to be my favorite so far. There was just something about everything in the world regressing back to it's earlier forms that I loved. That and the general question of trying to figure out what was actually real or if anything was real at all. It probably helped that I finished the whole thing late at night on little sleep and proceeded to keep thinking I saw things in my apartment regressing out of the corner of my eye.

It probably helped that I finished the whole thing late at night on little sleep and proceeded to keep thinking I saw things in my apartment regressing out of the corner of my eye. That...sounds like a really cool concept. It sounds like a complex version of Inception, which really appeals to me. I especially like the fact it affected your world as you read. Strangely, when I see things out of the corner of my eye, I try not to erase the optical illusion, but embrace it. I like to believe there's something in between. Too much Gaiman and Marr, I suppose. Still reading Fool Moon, and trying to wake up to reading for review tomorrow. I need to review at least a book a month. I've just been overwhelmed by books arriving in the mail. I don't know what the protocol is when different publishers send you three different books on one day. How do I decide who goes first? Alphabetical by author? Title? Publisher? I'd go with postmarked date--but I threw out the packaging. stressed

I finally finished The Bell Jar! And I actually enjoyed it immensely.
And now I've moved on to The Devil Wears Prada. haha. Judge me. I loved the movie, so I wanted to read the book.

No judgments here. The book is actually a lot better than the movie. Even though there's no meryl streep. xp

Finished The Devil Wears Prada in the five hour ride home from Cape May. I hate traffic. That was two hours longer in the car than I had to be.
Anyway, I really can't decide which I liked better, the movie or the book. I'm just going to have to call it a tie.
And now I need to pick a new book to read. Well, not really, I already know what I'm moving on to. Hood, by Stephen Lawhead. woo

I'm rereading The Perks of Being a Wallflower right now. We have to read it for school, and since school starts in 4 days, I figured it would be good to brush up on it. biggrin
