Never touch the things myself. They are rather uncomfortable.

Don't use them. When you get sore on your hands, that developed microfractures on the bones inside your hand. The 2 knuckles that punch, connect to the same spot in the wrist so when you get these microfractures, they heal and make your hand stronger. If you use tape, then you risk getting what is called a "boxer's fracture". This fracture is the result of not toughening the bones used in fist fighting.

It makes your knuckles stronger.

Less chance of a broken hand, extra support for your thumb ... and when you add any sort of glove you can throw a bit harder ... I don't see why not have hand wraps ... of course then again coming from an MMA background ... it is kinda normal ...

Not really ... extra protection and support for your hand not to mention you can put a lot more force in a punch ... why not ...

Coming from a boxing background ... well everything that baka_boy and ladymuaythai is true ... same thing with Emperor ... but it is not just the wrap that causes the break ... first of there's the technique ... and second where you punch ... if you wing a punch with everything you got onto the top of the head (i.e. Urijah Faber on Mike Brown) ... well ... of course you are gonna break your hand ...

It hurts, but at the same time, it strengthens the hand because of healing fractures. I'd rather have a sore hand than a broken one.
