The other day I was outside and stumbled upon one of those really fuzzy caterpillars (Woolly Bear caterpillars) that are usually black and a rust/orange color. Low and behold a new thread topic came to mind!

Wives' Tales and Omens.

As the ole wive's tales goes about the caterpillar, the orange rings on them are supposed to indicate the severity of the winter to come.

Now, while I don't always immediately buy into every wives' tale I've ever heard there are some more popular ones along with omens that I must say find myself heeding or at least making a note of the encounter for a later reference if by chance they should hold true.
