Hmm lets see. I guess first I'll go into my views on said entities. I kind of group them into three different types;

Fairy- (my grandma always referred to them as the Wee People so I often tend to as well) which would include obviously faeries of any sort, brownies, sprites, elves, pixies, pooka, willow o' the wisps, banshees and so on and so forth.

Elemental- dragons, tree spirits, any half human half animal beings, unicorn, mermaids, minotaurs, basically any otherworldly/'mythical' creature that's ancient and obviously exudes a particular and elemental and/or primitive energy

Deity- pretty much says it all right there lol but this thread is mostly about the other two groups I mentioned.

Not to say I've ever encountered all of the examples I gave but just trying to give a rounded representation of how I would classify different types of beings.

Now onto what I've actually encountered or worked with:

I'm fairly sure my Grandmothers house is in fact home to some brownies as well. When I would fall asleep in the living room I could feel things gently playing with my hair, my grandmother expressed the same sensations from time to time. There would be a warm pot of coffee prepared in the morning for my grandpa but there's no timer or anything that high-tech on their old school coffee machine. Granted he would leave it ready to go, but like I said there was really no explanation for it starting by itself. As well as late a night you could kind of hear a faint sound of laughter. It was one of those noises that your sure your heard but one could just dismiss it as something else.

The woods at my parents house was amazing and it seemed like different parts of the woods harbored different types of spirits. One section, where my own personal working space is centered, I KNOW has a very Deity feel to it. I discovered my patron deity there as well as just held a few conversations. I'm also pretty sure I was graced with the physical presence of my patron deity there in her deer form. I was cleaning away brush and what not and heard something approaching so I ducked down next to a tree and lol even rolled around on the ground a little to hide my scent and a beautiful young doe approached and came to about 10 or 12 feet from me, which coincidentally was right at the edge of the circle I was clearing away for working. Finally she saw me and we locked eyes for about a minute before she casually turned and walked away. The experience was breath taking to say the least.

But there are also parts that are decidedly fae too. One can hear leaves and bushes and what not rattling even when there is no wind coming through, there is a very playful feeling, and as much as I hate to admit it because I'm normally very clever in the woods. I've gotten completely turned around and lost in a few of the more fae areas because everything all of a sudden looked exactly the same no matter what direction I turned and I wind up walking in circles not even realizing it and I know most the woods like the back of my hand. Tricksy fairies. lol

Then there is also a part that is just so old and calm but still very alive. It feels as if there is a whole section that it itself is a single being and yet many different ones at the same time. All long lived and wise beyond our comprehension. The ground cradles you almost, the air sings, and when you touch bark or stone your instantly grounded and enveloped in it all. As much as I love the other areas I think that one is my favorite.

I have encountered a dragon once. It was in a dream but a very lucid one, so much that do consider it to be a spiritual experience. There was a young dragon that was sick and held it in my arms and healed it. There was this golden sparkling light in it's neck/chest where I was holding my hand. After I healed it our eyes met and I saw the entire universe in those eyes. I really can't even describe the whole experience in a way that would bring it justice so I'll just leave it at that brief description. Needless to say it was powerful and I woke up rejuvenated and enlightened.

I'm also had a certain Father deity come to me in form of a Stag on Samhain. I had had a rough year and was sort of doubting myself and just everything. A friend and I opened circle in a field and was expressing my doubts and insecurities when we heard scrapping and snorting sounds behind us. I knew it was deer (a large on at that, you could tell it was heavy) but for some reason it really frightened me, to the point where I was trembling. It kept getting louder until something just kind of clicked in my head and I sat up straight and thought, "Why does this frighten me? The deer have always been my family and friends. Why do I even question such things when my heart already knows the answers? I know who I am and where I belong if I listen to myself more" and I just let all those insecurities go. At that moment the snorting and scrapping stopped and all was quiet and a warmth came over me. Made my friend a little nervous but it was what I needed.

And I think the only other time that really sticks out is there was a very sporadic/hyperactive fae type creature in my room one night. It drove me nuts you could just feel this little ball of WAYYY to much fiesty energy bouncing around like crazy.

I'm fairly keen to energies so I really cant account for every time I may have encountered something but those are the most memorable ones. And wow that turned out a lot longer than I thought it would, sorry sweatdrop

I LOVED the Uruki in LotR!

At least you were 'saved' from it before you got hurt. That sounds a little intense.
