Shir was settled down in a large meadow, prepared for the coming night. He had his head thrown back, staring at the sky. The sky was palest blue, slightly tinted with lavender. Pink clouds drifted across his view. Soon the sky would become dark.
Already the moon was winking silver at him. Stars would pop up next. It was a very pleasant night, one of those moments you'd like to have someone to share it with. Shir was always alone though. It normally didn't bother him, but this night was one of the few exceptions.

Adrianna was taking an evening walk, wanting to stretch her legs. Her sister and brothers had seemed busy lately, so she felt she should busy herself with something too. The walk was just that, an attempt to busy herself. She was typically a day walker, but the recent heat had her keeping to the shadows and made her want to nap, so her body was thrown out of whack and she had been up during the cooler nights. It wasn't long before she reached a meadow, the beauty of it's open sky astounding her. She had forgotten how pretty the sky could be at twilight. Something seemed out of place though...as though some of the twilight hour was sitting in the meadow. She blinked, her eyes focusing on the Hallow she spotted. Goodness he did look like the Twilight! She sat down, a ways behind him, quite unsure as to what to do. She didn't want to intrude upon his evening, it wasn't polite.

The first star had just made it's presence in the sky when sounds caused Shir's ears to flick back. It was a rustling in the grass, too regular to be the wind. He turned his head to look.
There was a female, ghostly gray with purple spots running along bone lines. She stood out in the darkness as clearly as the lights in the sky. There was an uncertain look on her face.
Shir smiled, his expression gentle. "Hello there."

Adrianna smiled politely, shrinking down a bit as he caught sight of her. "Hello," she replied, "I'm sorry! I'm not bothering you am I? I was just out walking and...well I mean if this is your territory I...." She hung her head down, "I'm sorry!" She had always been the good one, and as such didn't like to cause others problems, so she was prone to apology.

Shir chuckled, but it was a kind sound. "It's quite alright. You're not bothering me, I was out walking too, this isn't my territory, and no need to apologize." It was a quirk of his, when someone listed off multiple things that required answers, to answer them in the order that they were given to him.
"It's going to be a lovely night, isn't it." Shir tilted his head back to look up at the sky. A second dot of silver joined the first, another sky in the rapidly darkening sky.

Adrianna blinked in surprise, quite relieved she wasn't being a bother. She looked up at the sky then walked a bit closer, still trying to keep some sort of distance out of respect. "That's good then, I mean that I'm not bothering you," she replied. She looked back up at the sky again, not used to seeing it like this, "Is it always like this?" she asked, "I mean, I don't get to see the sky too often outside of the day..."

"Night is still being born," Shir replied. He rolled his eyes over so he could see the ghost female without having to move his head. "It's a still time, as some prepare to sleep while others are just beginning to rise. Everyone should get the chance to watch night being born."
Now Shir turned his head just slightly to the side so the female could see his smile. "Would you care to join me in watching? You might enjoy watching as the colors change in the sky."

Adrianna stayed quiet as she thought about the male's offer. She then gave a hesitant smile of her own, getting just a bit closer, "Well, I mean, if you're asking....and you're sure I'm not imposing then I wouldn't mind getting the chance to see something like this then..." She stumbled around the words a bit, always afraid of how she said things. He seemed rather nice though.

Shir chuckled, the sound rumbling deeply in his chest like thunder. "I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't sincere."
He thought it was kind of cute how this female acted so much like the ghost for which her fur color ressembled.

Adrianna wagged her tail with delight as she looked up at the sky. How interesting it was! She was just admiring the slow yet steady changes when she realized something. "Oh my goodness!" she squeaked, looking over at Shir, "I'm so sorry! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Adrianna."

"My name is Shir. It is not as elegant-sounding as yours, but it suits me well enough."
Shir shook his head a little, looking abashed. "Though it may be presumptious of me, I have already christened you with a nickname, based more on initial impression that what I know."

"N-no. I quite like your name. It's nice," Adrianna replied, "And thank you....for the compliment." She gave a pause before asking her next question, "Forgive me, but, if I may ask, what nickname would that be?" She was a bit worried of his impression of her.

"Ah," Shir said, stalling a little. "I hope you would not think badly of me or take the nickname the wrong way. With your pale color and quietness, you seem like a Ghost."

"Oh! Oh gracious no I don't think badly....I mean with your explanation of course." Adrianna chuckled lightly after this, "I wouldn't be a very good ghost though, it'd be rude to frighten people." She looked down at her paws, not really noticing their light color until now. She had always seen herself as her sister's reverse in color, she never figured anyone would see different, despite her not being near her sister.

"It is a sterotype to think that all ghosts do is scare the living. Some teach and guide. Others simply observe. You strike me as one who would prefer to observe."
Shir didn't miss Adrianna glancing down to examine her paws. That amused him even more; there was such an aura of innocence around her, like she was a young one learning new things.
