The nearly full moon was high in the sky. It made the foam on the waves glow silvery as they churned and broke on the shore. There was the slightest of breezes that brought up the aalt from the sea across the faces of anyone on the shore. It was a beautiful night to skin and listen or to walk among the waves or on the shore.
The beauty of the scene was broken by a small goldenrod glow along the small dunes a few feet from the dark tracks of the tide. It would at first appear to be a small fire of a camp site. Though if someone were walking towards it what might have been a nice raging fire would appear to be contained in a prefect sphere. Though the ball of fire shifted and swirled like normal fire and it also gave of warmth. On close inspection the orb of flames sat in a ring glowing red circles with runes and ancient writing along the sand.
Sitting in the glow of the fire orb was a thin figure. The figure's I'd shoulder length hair was piled up wildly atop the head. Slowly and gracefully the figure stood and as it did the light played against the warm sooth skin and the slinky open dress on a small breasted thin woman. She moved her hands behind her back and walked around the ball so that she was between the ball and crashing waves.

Another figure was tracing the line between the waves and sand with bare feet. Ethereal, he seemed made of moonlight and shadows. With each step something like faint screams followed in his wake while the water swallowed his footprints. Were these foot-shaped impressions screaming in death as they were erased from existence? It would not be until one saw him up close that one might guess the truth, that twin shadows trailing behind him were actually great metal wings, each feather grinding against its fellows with tiny little shrieks. And sometimes, when they flexed with great emotion, they might spark with fury. But tonight the beach was calming the creature that walked with such grace and silence. Tonight the easy footsteps of a predator were merely relaxed and lazy.
A golden glow on the clear night seemed like a fetal sun hovering low over the dunes. It must attract all sorts of nocturnal beasts. The feral elfin angel with demon's blood flowing through his veins was no exception. The eyes of this moth were not what most people would want to capture, but night and daylight were always destined to meet, and often with explosive results. Night-dwellers, even the moon, always bowed before the morning light but Qaphsiel had never bowed before anyone.
The air around him seemed to ripple and fold for an instant, and anyone standing around him just then might have swooned as if in a confused dream; suddenly the distant form was just outside the light, almost close enough to touch. The woman bathed in warm light stepped in front the orb full of fire, draping everything in front of her in darkness. From that darkness came a silvery voice, trickling in from the seaside and booming with the waves: "Summoning the creatures of the night is a dangerous pastime."

The soft shrieks of the night were not lost on the Fiera's young ears. Though she, for better or worse, had attributed them to sea creatures or a bat or two flitting about the night sky. That being so she smiled and looked up into the star speckled sky trying to glimpse the small flying creatures. It was not that she did not like being alone but sometimes it would have been nice to have someone, other than her mother, to share her gift with.
Little did the pale Koshi know but her prays and fears were soon to be answered. She could feel eyes on before she heard the voice. But either way the beautiful voice what washed over her from the edges of the darkness surround her made her jump with a soft gasp of breath. Her pretty face turned with worry to gaze out into the darkness over the waves then to her side. As she did so the glowing orb faded a bit though the ruins surrounding it glowed a darker shade of red. "I was not trying to summon anyone..." she said softly her voice was gentle and soft as if it was hardly ever used. She thought she could see the reflections of something in the shadows but she could be not sure.
Her hands dropped to her exposed pale hips as she twisted her palms towards the ball of dimming flames. "If your a creature of the night...then my light should keep you at bay..." She did not know if it would be the best move on her part but she did not like not being able to see who she was speaking too. And with a voice like that HE was either too handsome to be true or too hideous to wish to say around.
With her palms facing the ball of flames she flexed her hands sending the fire blazing and casting light hurridly in a wider circle around her. Maybe she should not have come out on a full moon to practice.

"You brought daylight to the night with that fire of yours. Have you not heard of the old adage about the moth and the flame?" The young lady's voice was soft, but even over the surf the night enhanced everything. The fire burned Qaphsiel's eyes which in turn made his ears ring. When the light faded to a dull red he still saw the ghosting green flames behind his eyelids. Even so he could not help but stare, only taking vague note of the beautiful creature wrapped in revealing cloth that controlled those flames.
That same distraction left him at a disadvantage when the light suddenly flared, blinding him entirely. A creature of action and sometimes even violence, the only defense he had against such an assault was to attack the offender himself. With a snarl he flung himself at her, felt flames tickle his dully-glinting armor and skin just before making contact with her mass. She was light and he was heavy wearing all that dully-glinting armor; having already taken this into consideration, he landed directly over her and pinned her shoulders with his bare forearm. Then with a foot he swept her legs together and leaned on her thighs so that she couldn't kick him.
"What do you think you're doing!" he growled with a mix of exasperation, betrayal, and disgust. What was she, some kind of sadist? Lure people in with pretty flames then attack them. Poor moth indeed! "You're lucky I'm in a good mood. If I wasn't or if you had attracted someone else, you'd be wishing you'd stayed home in bed like a good little day-dweller should." His wild mane of green and black hair shielded his face a little from the light. Slowly his sight returned but everything was washed out and undefined.

Fiera knew that evil creatures often had a way to tempt the innocent to them. And there was no doubt that this silvery voice that could cause even the waves to seem to still and move slower was a temptation. The voice was so beautiful that she only prayed he would have a face to match. Though this though made her heart leap Fiera would not be fooled. What would her family say? Well her sister might try to steal such a man from her but her parents would never approve. She wanted to laugh a bit as her quick mind had time to think of all of this just before she flashed the orb of fire.
She gasped her hand flying to cover her full lips as the flash exposed the tall impossibly well muscular body and metallic wings of this shadow hugging god. She cried out in shock as she tried to back away from his lunge. Though it was too little too late and she felt the solid form of his body hit hers like a truck sending her back hard into the sad his body quick to flow.
She tried to struggle bring her legs up to try and kick him off only to feel the brush of tightly coiled muscles moved to pin her lips. She arched up against him as she tried to get her sholders free only to feel the bite of something sharp against her naked shoulders and the p***k of small spikes against her thighs. Her heart was racing in fear though her cheeks were dark with blush. She opened her eyes as she felt the brush of silkly velvet hair falling along her shoulders blocking his face in shadow.
The blow of his had caused her to loose control of her ball of flame and it plunged the beach into darkness. Without the warm heat she felt the kiss of the night like a bucket of cold water had just been splashed over her. Her silver flecked grey eyes looked up into the shadowed face above her. "Please get off of me!" she gasped almost afraid to speak there was a waver of fear in her voice as her body shook lightly under his figure that dwarfed her thin build. She swallowed slowly, "I...I did not mean to hurt anyone...I am sorry...I wont use my light here....please get off me." He was for the first time all too aware of how little she was wearing and that he himself was topless. The force of his tackle had left the top of her dress puckered and loose and the spikes of his right leg as pulled her skirt towards her left leaving the whole of her right side from hip, to shin guard, to toe naked.

The body beneath him was unbelievably soft. He had forgotten about the spikes on his armor. He was usually left alone, or wandered off alone, so he hadn't thought about being touched by anyone in quite a while. But he set his jaw, self-preservation was in play. The darkness helped to cool his eyes, but not nearly enough. "No, I will not. Not until I can see again."
In reality his vision cleared very quickly, but it seemed much longer. To say the state they were in was not awkward and embarrassing would be a lie, though Qaphsiel did not notice right away. Once he did, and taking into consideration that this was a girl and the disarray of her clothing, heat rose to his face. The only coherent thing he could think was, Serves her right, stupid girl!
"Hmph, I should get you back for what you've done to me. How should I exact payment?" Finally he could see her face. It was quite lovely but distorted with fear. He tried not to think about the long expanse of exposed skin down her leg and failed. It put him in a wicked frame of mind, but she seemed a kind enough girl and he had been raised not to harm the innocent. Teasing was all right though.
He shifted his arm away from her chest and placed his palm there instead to keep her there. He felt a little wetness but it was difficult to tell if he was feeling blood or sweat. His armor made the smell of blood difficult to discern. He leaned forward closing the distance between them and kissed her shapely lips. "I am sorry if I harmed you."
Quickly and carefully he pulled away, using his other arm to take the brunt of his weight and it disappeared into the sand. His shin was difficult to extract from her clothing, but he managed. In the end their encounter was over almost as quickly as it began.
A strange weight pressed briefly against the air surrounding Fiera. It might feel like sudden, excessive heat and humidity in the depths of summer. Qaphsiel had disappeared, but a moment later his voice could be heard several dunes away. He was sitting in the sand looking at the depthless water. "I find it difficult to believe that this has never happened to you before. Have you been playing with fire for long?" Her little fireball had reminded him of someone he knew. How could he possibly know that he had just tackled Ciela's fairer daughter to the ground like a tiger?

Fiera could not help but feel a bit of lustfulness with his dominating form blocking all else from view. She could feel the sand had taken upon itself to form around her this and the heat of his body took off the night's chill. She still could not see his face and the sudden thought that she might have actually damaged his eyes sent a wave of guilt threw her. She never meant to hurt anyone.
She was about to apologies again when his silvery voice danced over her. The sound of it alone made their closeness and her disarrayed clothed all the more clear to her. And yet she found herself in a strange swirl of curiosity, lust, and fear. She lay there still as she could not wanting to set him off in any way. Though when he shifted pulling his forearm up she felt a moment's need to pull free and run. but the sharp pricks against her leg made her think other wise. As his hand moved to replace his forearm she gasped deeply her cheeks darkening even in the shadow of his face. Her heart thudded up against his palm. He was first first man to have his hand in such a place on her body and she felt those callused fingers all too well.
Her eyes widened in shock as his lips claimed hers but it was only for a moment before her eyes shut and her face softened into her pretty smooth innocent face. As the heat of the air hit her and his body pulled away she felt more chilled but the warm night air. As dangerous as what had just happen had been she could not help but feel a strange heat blazing threw her.
She jumped a bit as she sat up and heard his voice. "I...I will live." she finally managed to say as her hands moved up to feel the smeared blood across her chest. "No...no one is ever around me when I practice...until now only one other person knew I could play with fire." she said her voice just barely audioable above the crashing waves. She shifted to sit on her knees in the sand winces as the ground rock mixed with a line of bleeding dots down her leg. "Oww...ow...oww" she hissed as she shifted her legs out of the sand and sat with her knees bent. She really wanted to make a small ball of light to ward off the shadows but she feared harming the creature who did not seem nice. "I don't think a kiss is a fair trade for nearly blinding someone. Maybe I should just give up these stupid little fire balls." she said mainly to herself but loud enough for him to hear.
She stole a glance in the direction he had gone and turned back to look at the ocean. Maybe she should go wash off and cool her fevered body down before she did something else stupid.

(He had his hand on the area below her collarbone and above her breasts, in case that wasn't clear. Definitely still closer than what is good for a stranger. xD; <3 )
"Then you are very fortunate. There are many strange beasts and sinister people that roam around at night." He was, of course, one of those who preferred the night. It was his understanding that in his family, for generations someone had had his face upturned in the moonlight. His father was like that, and his grandfather before them. Unlike his grandfather he did not know why, and his father may or may not know. All Qaphsiel understood was that he was what he was. And like these relatives at least, he meant no harm to anyone but those who deserved it.
That was why when he heard Fiera hissing in pain, Qaphsiel felt a twinge of chagrin. He had already apologized so there was little else he could say. "If you are bleeding you should probably wash it off in the water. The salt burns but it helps to heal wounds."
He rose to his feet and turned back toward her. His silhouette was clear in the moonlight. "No, I don't think you should deny anything about yourself. If this is your gift then you should become its master. But you should exercise some caution, too. I'll go now so that you can go in the water." He turned to leave, but he was not going to disappear again. He had been out for a stroll, after all. He merely started walking in the direction he had been headed before.

(yeah it would make sense for it to be there. Thanks for clearing it up. Still I am sure a finger or two might be against the curvature of some little hills.)
Fiera sighed softly and shook her head. "You are the first I have met in all the nights I have snuck out." she rested her head on her knees and watched the waves. Maybe he was a mind reader a well as a strong nightwalker. "I will have no way to warm myself if I get wet. And if there are creatures like you on land. I am sure that there are even darker creatures waiting in the waters."
She looked up and over at his shadowed form. She smiled in the darkness. "I wish I could just be myself and enjoy the gift I have...but as you found me I can only do this in the cover of night and alone. Iguess in that sense this day lighter is a friend of the night."
She stood up slowly and turned to face him. "Thank you for not hurting me. And only taking my first kiss in payment for nearly blinding you." she wonder if she would ever get to see him again. He did not seem as bad as her father seemed to think many of the creatures of the night were. "You don't have to leave if you don't want too. Though the moon is high in the sky, even with it's light you would not see anything. And idid not think to go skinny dipping."

(Naughty fingers? XD )
Qaphsiel looked over his shoulder at her and grinned with a hint of pride. "It was my first kiss too."
He turned to face her fully. "As you can see I was not harmed permanently." He did still see faint spots but they were disappearing with each moment. "I do not know you so I did not know if you would try to attack me with something stronger after blinding me, so I did the only thing I could think of to stop you without seriously hurting you."
With a bow he said more formally, "I am Qaphsiel. I will serve as your protector tonight if you want. You can be yourself and practice your magic without fear." Of course, she had had no fear before he proved to her that there was danger.

(just slightly naughty fingers.XD so come on and tell us big guy did you get a nice little feel?)
Even though he was still mostly silhouetted when the metallic winged demon smiled at her over his shoulder at her Fiera's cheeks burn hotly. He was extremely handsome in the moon light. And he had been atop her only moments before. "Your first kiss too?" she asked softly and looked down at her hands which she was wringing in front of herself. She smiled warmly up at him. "Well if taking my lips keep me safe with you then they are yours. I really did not mean to scare or hurt you. I was trying to see you. I do not think I can hurt someone with my fire balls. Thank you for not being to hard on me. I am thankful that all that happened was a few small pricks to my skin, a nice kiss and a bruised backside."
Fiera moved her hands in front of herself and gave a small bow. "That is a very interesting name. My name is Fiera. And I would be very glad to have a knight in flesh color armor protect me to night. Though I don't know if I should practice something that can harm you. But maybe a low burning fire to warm us up after the swim would be okay."

(Let him try again, I don't think he had enough time to form an opinion. XD )
"I can tell you didn't mean any harm. Why should I make your life miserable when we both made mistakes? And so you are welcome to try out any of your spells you wanted to practice. Now that I know what to expect I can stay out of harm's way." And now that he knew what to expect, he could stare not at the flame. It was going to be his job to keep an eye on her, after all. And the shadows. But he could look at her too.
"I like your name, Fiera. A pretty name for a pretty girl." It sounded silly to say, but it was the stripped-down truth. Not only that but she was already blushing. That was blushing right? It was so dark it was hard to say, but if he was right then he wanted to see how much he could fluster her. Perhaps she'd burst into flames, or maybe the sea would start to steam when she stepped into the water. Of course it never occurred to him that his teasing might be making her miserable. "So now I have your name. And your lips are mine as well? Does that mean I can have them whenever I want?"
(Here's the brashness I was warning you about! And he's already charming her out of her clothes. At least they're going for that swim. There are legitimate reasons for this. xD )

(Oh yes I am sure he will get a second chance to more fully check them out.)
Fiera looked over the metal winged 'angel' in front of her. He was nothing like the creatures of the night that her father spoke of. Not that she had much time with her father. She sat back down on the sand and allowing her skirt to fall between her thighs as she slid the textured leather off of her shines. She whimpered softly as the on that had been pricked caught a bit.
She looked up at him as she laid the shine wraps to the side and moved to unclasps the color around her neck though she did not let the clothe drop down instead she lowered it keeping her chest covered the whole time. "Thank you for saying that but if you want pretty you should see my sister or my mother."
She looked away from him her cheeks darkening more and the ruins on the ground which were now little more than faded shadows started to glow faintly. "Well if the will insure my safety then yes you can have them whenever you wish. If you would not mind just looking the other way for a moment wail I get down to the water Qaphsiel." She liked the way his name rolled off her tonnage.

Qaphsiel was already looking away; he was raised a little better than that. Or perhaps he had stolen a glimpse through a shock of hair that was so dark that one could not really be sure. He mimicked her movements and began to take off his armor. Perhaps the jagged 'cut' of his hair was because he had snagged to many times on the spikes and his wings, but he had learned a trick or two about navigating armor. He wound his hair around his hand and shoved it into the neck before sliding it over his head and carefully around his wings. The metal plates came off in pieces and made heavy grating sounds as small puffs of sand filled the air around his ankles. His wings flexed with subdued little shrieks, enjoying their freedom. He did not even consider leaving any articles of clothing on before it was all arranged more carefully in the sand at his feet.
He stood up about the time she asked him to look away. He couldn't not look at her, but he was already moving, slipped smoothly up beside her, stole another kiss, and was back across the the next dune. "All right, I'll keep a look out and you can go into the water."
(And he just got a nice good look. Little brat. >_>; )

As Fiera slipped her dress off of her cream colored body she listened to his armor shifting and moving. He really was going to join her in the water. Her first time skinny dipping and it was going to be with a prince of the night. She really hoped that this would not come back and bite her.
She bent down to place her dress on the sand and as she stood back up she no longer heard the creek of armor or the shriek of his wings.
She turned slowly right into his kiss. She gasped and her arm moved to cover her small but firm breasts. She blushed and her other hand went to her lips. His mouth was so warm. And his body was so fast. She could not help but be impressed with him. She almost hoped this was a dream. If it was then anything could happen. Even someone like herself could be with someone asncool as he was.
"Thank you Qaphsiel." she said as she moved towards the water. She knew he was looking away but she turned to steal a glance at his back side as she moved to the edge of the water. As the first splashes hit her feet she gasped loudly. "Ohhh! It's a bit cold." she laughed softly. "You can come in if you want. It is going to take a bit to get myself full in." with her legs slightly crossed and one arm covering her chest she almost glowed like Venus in the water. She realized his body would be facing her soon so she looked away. Her hair still tied up.
Oh man what would her sister or mother think if the came and say him naked and then her running up behind him?
(oh sneaky boy. xD so did she though)
