******HeadMaster Dumbledore*******
Seated upon his high backed and golden chair, the current Headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry peered over his half moon spectacles at the sea of students in their black school robes before him. In the rafters, four giant banners billowed in a breeze that the castle itself was producing: A great red one, emblazoned with the fierce image of a lion for Gryffindor. A bright yellow, as sunny and bright and surprising as the badger it showcased for the quirky house of Hufflepuff. Dark, serene blue with a raven in midflight represented Ravenclaw, and last but not least, a dark green and black banner, with a serpent twisted about it's face was the calling card for the House of Slytherin. The Great Hall was abuzz with the sounds and conversations of old friends re-uniting and new faces getting acquinted.

Albus Dumbledore stood up and approached his podium, a magnificent statue of an owl was imbedded into it's front. At his presence it spread it's great wings and released a mighty shriek bringing order to all those in the hall. He smiled.

"Welcome students, old and new. We are all looking forward to a wonderful and magical new term. A quick staff announcement, is that our beloved Professor Horace Slughorn has retired. You will have a new Potions Master, let us all make him feel at home. And now, let us begin our feast!"

At the old wizard's last words, succelent dishes of all foods imaginable materialized onto the four great table tops. Meats, pastries, breads, and even vegetables were passed around as the students fill their plates. The old man smiled, and bent backed, made his way back to his seat to partake in his own merriment with his devoted staff.

~~Anyas~~

A pretty sixth year witch with platinum blonde hair pulled back into a long ponytail and lifted hear head as the HeadMaster started to speak. Anya's eyes were intently upon the old wizard as she sat huddled with her fellow Gryffindor sixth years at their table. Around them, freshly sorted first years were staring in wonder and she had to smile. She could clearly remember experiencing the same feeling her first year here, and the amazement of the tables even though she had watched her parents use magic for years. Along with the rest of the students, except the Slytherins of course, she clapped at the end of his speech and looked to the food covered table in great delight. She was famished after the long train ride and catching up with her friends after the summer.

~Lockhart~
Gilderoy Lockhart ,a handsome 7th year, clapped at Dumbledore's speech a bit over dramaticlly. Before he could even pick up his fork to behin eating,he was swarmed with questions from Many Raveclaw girls who wanted to know what he had been up to this summer. Even Some of the boys were interested becouse everyone knew he always had an exciting story to tell. He chuckled and started telling them about a banshee he had met while on vacation and nearly all of Ravenclaw was silent as they listend as well as some students from the nearby table.

~{Lydia Bloxam}~

Lydia's caramel colored eyes lifted from the slew of her Slytherin brethen huddled around her, to gaze needles and daggers at the other tables. So far, as usual, Ravenclaw seemed to be in an uproar. A blonde fellow she only knew by sight was talking very loudly, yet again. She rolled her eyes. Up and down the Slytherin table heads were lowered close together in whispers.
"If you're going to talk about someone, do it so all of us can hear," she commented toward a seventh year boy a few seats on the bench down. David, she believed his name was, and he cast a sneer at her. "I'm not talking about anyone, yet, Lydia. I'm talking about this Dark Lord that is recruiting from all the pure blood families. They say he's going to lead WizardKind in taking their proper place over the Muggles, where we belong," he said, and spat to the floor at the mentioning of Muggles. Lydia herself quivered at that, as she dug her fork into a pile of mashed potatoes she wasn't hungry for. Dominance over Muggles, hm? She wondered what her 'father' would say to that, he'd probably celebrate, and her mother too.

Stephanie sat there, simply tapping her fingers on the wooden table sitting in front of her. She wondered, honestly, why she was even in this house. Her whole family had gotten sent to other ones, granted -- she was pureblood, but still. It honestly meant nothing to her other then... the fact that it apparently got her a spot in Slytherin. She should be happy, right? No. All the Slytherin's that knew her family... it wasn't a pretty thing. They were quite unforgiving when it came to realizing that her parents were Gryffindor's. Her eyes lifted up from the table, as they went through the list of names of students... all of them being sorted into different houses. She then heard the words "feast" and there were different things placed upon the tables. She always liked the opening ceremony feast.

"Hope classes won't be too difficult this year," she muttered to herself as she started to place food on her plate.

She would have a little bit of pudding, ignore the he-who-must-not-be-named talk, and a little of this and a little of that. She would probably eat one plate and be done, it wasn't like her to get seconds -- unless she had something she loved. She poked around at her food for a few moments, looking out at the other house tables. She usually got the evil-pureblood muggle-hating reputation... from the other houses. A sigh emitted from her as she closed her eyes, if they would just to get to know her. Once they did, which some had, they would realize that she was just simply an 'oddball' in her family -- not that it helped much. She wished people weren't judgemental, but they were. Oh Merlin! Her mind was just firing off things... and she was jumping around from subject to subject.

"And so.." She thought out-loud, gaining a few weird stares.

Jasna Mazurovic

Jasna stared boredly at the food before her. She was at Hogwarts once again. She sighed. Further down her table, she could hear a boy making a nasty display about muggles and some Dark Lord. Jasna had no interest in these things. Ever since her transfer to Hogwarts the year before, she had withdrawn herself from the ignorant chatter of most of the students. She wanted to be at home, or at the Quidditch practice with her father. Not in someplace that was going to tell her what she already knew. She felt eyes on her.

Jasna looked up to see Krishnaru Ronaldo staring at her from across the table. His parents were foreigners as well, and he was probably the only person she had any interest in talking to at this new school. His mother had been from India, his father was from Portugal. The two met in London and fell in love.

"Pitiful, eh? These people are all so, simple," he told her, leaning in closer. "Annoying." Jasna smirked at the face he made. Kris was attractive in many ways. He was tall, well-built, he had his father's hair and eyes, his mother's skin. His hair was dark, a caramel-chocolate color. His eyes were hazel in the darkest sense. "Was that a grin? I didn't know you had the ability."

"I am able to smile, Krishnaru, but I am much more likened to sneer. Especially since we moved here. No one is the same," she replied grimly. He nodded. Half of his childhood had been spent in Portugal, the other half in India.

"Yes, but perhaps this year will be different," he offered.
"Unlikely," Jasna said, looking down at her plate of boring English food.

~~Anyas~~

Anyas picked up her goblet, sipping on the cool pumpkin juice, thankful for it soothing her throat that was becoming hoarse from talking so much. To her left and right, her friends Jasmine and Bree were still discussing their summer, already debating the looks of the many males of Hogwarts, and their dreaded classes. It was routine, and natural, and she had missed it. She smiled simply, shaking her head.

Across the wide hall, at the Ravenclaw table she was not surprised to see the blonde headed Gilderoy surrounded by a throng of Ravenclaw girls. She often wondered how he was able to make it to his seventh years, from what she had heard, he was about as talented as a first year, and a part of her actually felt bad of him for that. Behind them sat the Slytherins. Her keen eyes watched them for a moment. She had plenty of Slytherin friends, she knew from experience and her parents dealings that not all Slytherins were bad tempered or had ill thoughts, the problem was just figuring out which ones those were. One girl, however, catching the odd glares of the other Slytherins caught her attention. It wasn't often that they spurned their own kind.

There was still a day and a weekend before term started, perhaps this would be the year she struck out and befriended more people of the other houses. Her aunt being known as a strict Professor in the school, had not helped her in her quest for friendship in her first two years. Anyas had been avoided like splattergroit or dragon pox. That was also when she learned she had inherited her Auntie Minerva's stern countenance, which she did her best to remedy by smiling often.

She shook aside her thoughts and reminiscing, biting into a forkful of chicken. A few veggies were on her plate, and a biscuit, but it was the pudding and ice cream desserts she was saving her room for.

Kite sighed heavily as he sprawled his arms across the Gryffindor table. "Another year of this, huh?"He spoke to himself, not bothering to lower his voice. He picked up a fork, stabbed a biscuit, and held it over his head. "Another year of work, work, work. And teachers, teachers, teachers. And these people are actually excited."

He looked around the room, studying the other houses. He couldn't help but notice how many cute girls there were this year. He blushed a little, and jerked his head back to his plate. "Well, maybe it won't be so bad." He shrugged and shoved the biscuit in his mouth.

It didn't take her long to eat. Not that she put much on her plate to begin with: some chocolate pudding, a warm biscuit with strawberry jelly on one half and grape on the other, some mashed potatoes, and a banana -- a weird combination. She picked up her goblet and took a sip from it, the contents being a juice -- passion fruit to be exact. Her heterochomic eyes would roam from time to time, gaining odd stares from the first-years that noticed that her eyes weren't the same color. She didn't awfully mind, unless they wouldn't stop staring, then it was just plain rude. There was nothing special about having one red eye and one blue eye, it was just a genetic thing... heterochromia, they called it.

"Yet again," she sighed -- she had a habit of voicing her mind out loud.

She didn't really like being in any sort of spotlight, not that she could avoid it at times. Though, she did note that there were some interesting new faces... and old ones. She always wondered what it would be like, to have real friends. Not that she didn't have any so-to-say, but she wished that she had an opportunity to have more... rather then being judged right off the bat. She picked up another biscuit and smeared strawberry jelly on it. She didn't particularly care, not like her thin athletic build couldn't take it... she did exercise regularly. Plus, she cared more about her personality then her looks. Not that she didn't properly care for herself or present herself, she preferred to be 'healthy', she just didn't understand why people put so much emphasis on vanity in the Slytherin house. Now only if she could find her friends... I wonder where they are, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, she thought to herself as she took a few bites of the warm fruit-smeared bread.

Lee Lee piled her plate with as much food as she could reach. She loved to eat burnt food mostly, but this would have to do; the train ride over had nearly starved her. She began to eat quickly, making loud smacky noises. She looked around the great hall and observed all of the people, chewing with her mouth open. She glanced at a few boys...and stop chewing immediately. She stared at her plate longingly and sighed. Oh no!!She thought to herself. What am I doing?! All the boys in the room are staring at meee!! Watching me stuff my mouth, nonstop! I'll get fat! The boys will hate me! No one will talk to me! She began to sweat, and started to pull at her hair. Are they looking at me now?! They can't keep looking forever! Why are they still looking!!! She began to fidget around in her chair. "STOP LOOKING AT ME!" She cried and buried her face in her hands.

Little did she know, hardly anyone was even looking at her before she shouted.

~Audrey Simmons~

Audrey sat with the other 6th year slytherins at their table waiting for sorting and the speech to end she was already reading her potions textbook to get ahead. She had already mastered love potions that she intended to sell again this year they were a success last year and the teachers never found who made them 'handy work' she thought to herself.

She didn't usually have a big appetite but after Dumbledore had finished talking she had two helpings. Hoping nobody thought she was starving at home, it wasn't that she didn't get feed just that she was the one cooking and the last few nights weve very hard to become motivated to cook at all.

~Lockhart~

When Gilderoy finally finished his story he earned a collective standing ovation from the girls at the table, cuassing everyone to stare at him as he bowed dramaticlly saying."Thank you, thank you.",he garnerd a lot of scowls from the Slytherins but even some Slytherin girls were wondering what he had been talking about. He sat down and began eating at last, just as he heard rumors floating around the Great Hall that some Dark Lord was recrewting.
"I'm probably first on his list.",he mummerd thoughtfully to himself.
"Of course I'd never except such an offer.",he continued as Margeret a pretty RavenClaw girl a few seats down smiled at him.
"Of course you wouldnt Gilderoy your to kind to do such a thing.",she cooed.
Gilderoy nodded as he took a drink.
"Natuarly,Natuarly.",he said.

Jasna Mazurovic

Jasna's view wandered down the table, causing many eyes to revert back to their food or friends. She sighed, realising that she had forgotten to maintain her scowling countenance. In truth, Jasna was quite beautiful with an exotic twist. Even when she was glaring or scowling. The former and latter both made her look imposing, as she well was. She heard Kris chuckle as he noticed her re-adopt her almost perpetual glare. He was the first to feel the fire and ice of her gaze. Immediately the laughter died in his throat. Jasna looked past him, once again forgetting her glare.

She noticed a boy at the Ravenclaw table first, he was making dramatic gestures and apparently telling stories of the great adventures he had had over summer. Jasna rolled her eyes at this. Moving on, a girl at the Gryffindor table caught her eye. The girl had platinum hair that was striking, at least from a distance. Her face seemed cold and stern, but she was laughing and smiling with her friends. Jasna felt a pang of envy. Her friends were all in another country, preparing to go to the greatest school imaginable: Durmstrang. Jasna sighed and looked back at Krishnaru.

"We're back, I suppose," she said, realisation hitting her.
"Indeed," he replied, his curious accent painting his voice, just as Jasna's did to her.

~Darcy~

Professer Darcy swiftly enterd the great hall, about halfway through the feat. He strode past the Ravenclaw table, which was his own house, and took his seat at the front table next to Dumbledore. He imeadiatly started whispering to him in a voice low enough so that no one could hear him. The headmaster seemed slightly worried but didnt reply. Darcy's eyes then swept the great hall as he surveyed the new students and figured they barely looked brave enough to survive his fist defense agaisnt the dark arts lesson. He was known for being a very strict professor, the strictest next to professer Mcgonagal. He was cruel though at times making him seem twice as worse.

~~Professor McGonagall~~

If anyone had been paying attention after the sorting ceremony, they would have noticed that the older, black haired witch with the pointed emerald hat had not yet returned. She had taken the Sorting Hat and left the Great Hall and as of yet, had not reappeared. The spot to Dumbledore's right, reserved for his future Deputy Headmistress, was empty.

Into the Great Hall padded in a slightly large, silver and black tabby, with perfect markings over it's fur. It's large yellow eyes peered from table to table, mewing loudly as it encountered students already misbehaving. No matter, she would get them later. It was by the Slytherin's table she topped, and to the students it would appear the cat was listening intently, and watching them while they conversed.

A Slytherin first year, unfortunately, decided that this would be the perfect moment to display his despicable Slytherin nature. Ah first years, such a handfull. Luckily, for this feline it possessed rather quick reflexes and deftly avoided the kick that the boy aimed in her direction. As she pawed away, tail erect in the air, she began to unfurl up onto her hind legs. The tail grew shorter and disappeared into a set of emerald robes trailing behind the emerging figure of the elderly witch. The ears receded to under her hat, and the fur and it's exquisite markings disappeared against pale, clear skin.

"That'll be a detention, Mr. Wilburn, starting tomorrow," the Professor said curtly without looking back as she strode to the teacher's table. Throughout the tables, giggles and quiet applause erupted. The Slyterin boy, one Marcus Wilburn, groaned and grew beet red, shrinking to hide his face amongst the other first years. And with that, she took her seat with her fellow teachers, and began to feast.
