Based off of a novel by William Goldman, The Princess Bride isn't your typical fairytale.

This movie will always be a favorite of mine. I have no complaints about the casting. The performances all seemed fine to me.

What really stuck out was the writing. The lines were very similar to the novel and the wittiness really stood out. The movie was humorous.

So which did you like better, book or movie?

That was an adorable movie, but I have to say I liked the book better. It's a close call, but I almost always go with the book. The only movie that I can think of off of the top of my head that was better than the book was The Natural.

Ahhh, I love this movie!

I love the book too, though at first I was really confused because I was all like, "I don't want the abridged version!" until I realized that's the way it's supposed to be. haha

It's a tough call, but I think I'm going to have to go with the book. That's almost always the case with me.

When I was a kid, The Princess Bride was one of my favorite movies, I've watched it more times than I can count. I didn't know it was based off of a real book (haha) until I was 10 or 11, as soon as I found that out I immediately devoured it. Now I've probably read the book as many times as I have seen the movie. Actually I just checked it out from the library again a few days haha it's sitting at home right now.

As much as I love the movie, I have to say I like the book better. Books almost always win over movies. But as you said, the lines were very similar to the novel and I really appreciate that they didn't try to change it too much. It always leaves me with a sour taste when they take a book and, in the process of turning it into a movie, totally mutilate it. If I've read a book and then watch the movie of it, even if the movie itself was good I find myself hating it if they mess with it too much.
