I hate it when someone completely copies your graphics. I've had people "recolor" mine too, which is pathetic, and not to mention obvious. I'm also seeing trends where all graphics are "magically" starting to have the same style, design and shape as others. Coincidence?
Quality is another factor that has been going down too, and the inflation of prices. I've seen people take images off photobucket, slap text on it and charge 20k for it. What's this for paying extra to make a banner "clickable," too?
I'm even starting to see pixel graphics shops other than mine, which is complete nonsense. Discuss.

yea, I know what you mean, ppl even take concept and design from gaia, when should make things up on their own
but I' not going to lie, I do charge a bit for profiles
but I do make them well and unusual, I guess artsy
and i keep change my theme and concept,
and try to make my profiles far ones other make

Which is very pathetic itself. All it takes is an ounce of creativity.
Whatever the person making the graphics charging is fine. As long as it is to the best of their abilities and reasonable.

Like I've said before, that's why I give graphics away for free and half a** everything so that no one is tempted to steal them XD I suppose if I ever feel like charging I may give a damn about the quality of what I make. Everything I make is original though, I never take credit for any image I use from photobucket (which I never edit or use in my work) [or give to others and claim as my own]
Edit: Never mind, I like warping peoples faces in my spare time and showing my friends, I don't claim it as my picture, but I do say I warped it ;O

Just because you think your all that doesn't mean you are. OMG. You make graphics. Good for you buddy so does a lot of other people.
When I had a graphics shoppe i charged below 1ok because I felt like I should. I knew I didn't have the best graphics so I priced accordingly.
Now I do profile and they are usually below 200k.
I don't like the feeling of robbing people. I think doing quality for a low price should be more common. All my customers tell me that for such a low price they feel like they are robbing me. That's what I like to here. c:
If you think profiling and making graphics is all about money. You should really take a step back and check yourself.

Yeah. I feel bad. Especially recently there seems to have been s**t-storms of copying going on! >_>
That's why I'm glad I just give my s**t away for free. My shop is far from popular, so I doubt that people would bother copying it. Especially since all orders are PM'd, the work from my dA would be conspicuous as hell to copy, and the headers for my shop aren't special.
Plus everything's free! I hate it when I see mediocre designers charging ridiculous amounts of gold! It's like robbing people IMO. >:0

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Its really not that hard, THERE'S EVEN A BUTTON FOR IT WHENEVER YOU POST. I hate how greedy people can get and charge any amount the can for extra add ons. Graphics should be a hobby, and maybe earn a few things here and there, but from what I'm seeing nowadays is people just completely overpricing for gold.
A lot of people lately have been taking an image and just setting it on a brush, etc, and calling it a day. That takes literally two seconds..

i agree with you completely, there are even some shops that charge for putting your username in the profile they make you. rolleyes
or people who use profile generators and sell them as original.
but you can't crap on the efforts of all profile makers, custom profiles are in no way easy to make. the buttons alone are a hassle
which is why i would charge 100k-150k for one, depending on the level of difficultly.
i put a lot of creativity and love into my creations, so i don't appreciate it when you say it only takes an "ounce of creativity" to make graphics or when others make other people feel bad for charging a pretty penny for all their efforts.

All the graphics starting to look similar is because of fads, like scanlines.
I watermark all my samples, and when I make a commission, I try to fit "created by agorphia" on it, or if the graphic is too tiny, then the text on the graphic is usually made for a person's thread or whatever, so people wouldn't steal it cuz it wouldn't make sense.
There are always people who charge too much, and there are people who charge too little.

Also, I don't like restricting myself to rounded corner boxes either. I like stuff that doesn't have borders. Gives it more life, imho.
And wtf, people charge more to make stuff clickable? That takes like 2 seconds to do. stressed
