Moriarty and Katczinski are brothers, and members of a rare race of people infected by a rare magical disease called the Dirge. This disease has replaced the mass in the center of their bones with magical energy, making them both very brittle and easily killed, while also granting them access to massive reserves of magical power.

Boss 1: Moriarty.
Moriarty the Fear Monger is a manipulator. Though he does not control magic in the traditional, harmful sense, his powerful magic grants him access to nearly every aspect of the living conscience. In his domain, his enemies become his victims, their minds becoming puppets to his powerful mental games. He specializes at crippling his enemies with fear.

His Powers:
-Magic Stealing. When Moriarty touches the enemy with his bare hands, he can steal their magical energy, storing what he steals in his bones for use in his more powerful spells.

-Time Control. Through Moriarty's friendship and worship of the goddess Lateralus, he has learned to move his own body back and forth in time. This requires massive amounts of magic energy, often requiring him to steal it from his enemy.

-Control of the senses. Moriarty can change what you hear, see, taste, feel, and smell. Though it is all illusion, they are powerful and dreamlike. Those who enter the house to challenge Moriarty will be unaware that he is an illusionist.

-Mental Fog. If Moriarty makes physical contact with an enemy, he can put their mind in a fog. The victim will experience a dreamlike state, clouding their judgement, and causing their subconscious to take over. This forces them to see their own nightmares, making them live their own greatest fears.

Boss 2: Katczinski.
Katczinski is too weak to wield a weapon with the brittle bones in his hands. He is an assassin, a member of a hidden group of people who specialize in killing their enemy in one hit, while never leaving a trace of his own existence.

His Powers:
-Fade Out. Kat focusses the majority of his magical capabilities on invisibility. He cannot be seen with the naked eye until he attacks. This works by an illusion which tricks the mind into believing that Katczinski does not exist. The illusion drops whenever Kat makes a noise.

-Silence. The brothers are air elementalists. Katczinski uses his element to create a bubble around him with no air, which snuffs out any noise he makes. He can also cast this on an enemy to prevent them from casting verbal spells, such as summons.

-Beam of Light. To compensate for his inability to hold a weapon, Kat has learned to focus his magic into a dagger-like shaft of light. He weilds the beam of light as his weapon, which grows longer when it is swung. The weapon is searing hot, so much so that stab wounds from his attacks do not bleed, as they are instantly cauterized. Cuts from this blade always scar if the victim survives.

The Grey House:

User Image

The Grey House is a maze consisting of 12 chambers on two stories, which the final chamber, where the fight with Moriarty takes place, being on the third story. The house is haunted by it's former occupants, many of which were witches, demons, and others who wanted to hide far away from civilization.

Every chamber is different, forever changed by the personalities of those who perished within. Now under Moriarty's control, there has been much reconstruction. Every room has come to symbolize a different human fear. No two people will experience the same fears in the same order. How many of these fears the victim encounters depends only on how quickly they can find their way to the chamber where Moriarty is waiting.

((Note: You may choose to jump straight to the final encounter with the bosses if you wish, skipping the phobia challenges.))

The Fears of the Grey House:
-Claustraphobia. Tight spaces.
-Hypnophobia. Being forced to sleep.
-Cryophoba. Freezing.
-Scotomaphobia. Blindness.
-Hematophoboa. Blood.
-Necrophobia. Death or dead things.
-Panthophobia. Disease or suffering.
-Basophobia. Being unable to stand.
-Spectrophobia. Ghosts.
-Acrophobia. Heights.
-Dementophobia. Insanity or insane people.
-Insectophobia. Bugs.
-Aichmophobia. Pointed objects.
-Bathmophobia. Steep Slopes.

The Beginning:

Moriarty has a bone to pick with you, so he has summoned you personally to his house of horrors, named the Grey House. As you tread through the swamps to the front door of the house, time seems distorted, as if it's moving faster somehow. The sun begins to set rapidly, and before you can reach the front door it is already midnight.

The candle in the only window on the third story of the building lights up, but you cannot see who lit it. A second later, you see a shadow staring at you from a window on the first story, but it vanishes before you can make out who it is.

The first room you enter has red carpeting and dark wood walls. It looks pleasant enough, like the lobby of an inn. There are paintings lining the walls, one portrait of each of the house's fourteen former inhabitants. The front door is trapped, and locks itself behind you as you enter. In spite of how the house appears to be weak and in disrepair, any attempts to break through the door or walls will fail.
