Starring Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy
I didn't know this until a few years after the movie came out, but Shrek was a children's book by William Steig.
I've never read the picture book, so I don't know if the movie and books are similar or not. I'm assuming the first movie is similar, and the sequels are just money makers. Anyone have some insight?

I had no idea this was a book. O_O
Also, they should've stopped making Shrek movies after the second one. Because the third and fourth movies were awful.
Yep. I can't lend anything else to the discussion as far as books-to-movies go because I had no idea that Shrek was a children's book. lawl

Well, it's a picture book so it's not like there's that much content. biggrin I haven't read it in years. I don't think Shrek was as mean and reclusive in the book, though.
Yeah, I actually don't mind the sequels that much. The one with Artie was funny.

I had no idea that there was a book! Even if it was a picture book, I would have liked to look at it. Well, now I have a reason to head into the children's section of the library!
I didn't see the fourth movie, but I thought that the third one was cute. It had some funny things in there that I enjoyed.
