Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
— 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

We are God's temple! God lives in us. What we do in our bodies is part of our worship to him. We are called to not only abstain from impurity, but we are called to glorify God in our bodies and honor the sacrifice by which our holiness was bought.
My Prayer...
Father, I confess to you that I sometimes lose sight of how precious my body is to you. With aging and the other challenges that daily remind me that my body is a vessel of decay, I find it hard to believe that I can glorify you with it. Please, through your indwelling Spirit, quicken in me a deeper reverence and appreciation of your presence in me. In the name of Jesus, my atoning sacrifice, I pray. Amen.

i love that verse. i want to be frank and honest: i want a tattoo. i don't know if any of you guys have tattoos, but i don't know if tattoos are good or bad. the only thing that has prevented me from getting one is this verse. however, the tattoo that i want is a picture of a dove.
this is the problem: what if the tattoo that i get glorifies God and reminds me of all that He has done for us? what if in that way i am still guarding my body as a holy temple?

My personal opinion on this is, if it makes you happy and it reminds you of the good that God has done in your life, then go for it. I want to get a beautifully done angel on my back to remind me of Joshua 1:5 because that verse has always been recurring for me.
There are plenty of people at my church that have tattoos and I don't think that God looks at them any different or loves them in any different way then someone who doesn't have tattoos. It just depends on the reasons why you are getting it in the first place. I hope this helped. 3nodding

I agree with LuckyBlackAce.
Tattoos are the same as writting a message on your hand or arm to remind you about something; tattoos are just permenant.
