I'm only half way through the movie, started this morning, but I finished the book last night. I gotta say, despite the changes it makes, I'm really liking it. Now it's Hollywoods turn to make it, with David Fincher directing, I think it could be great. I just hope Hollywood doesn't choose a curvy actress with big boobs for Lisbeth, and you know they're considering it.

So, questions.
Have you read the book?
Have you seen the Swedish film, and if so, what did you think?
Are you excited for the U.S. adaptation?
Who would you like to see in that movie?

Personally, the only actress I can come up with in my head to play Lisbeth is Ellen Page, but she's practically the opposite of Lisbeth so I don't know if that will even come close to happening.

I've heard a lot of good things about the books, but I haven't had time to read them yet.

Do you think it's necessary to read them before seeing the movie?

The book is on my to read list, but I have seen the Swedish film. I'm a bit wary about the U.S. adaptation, just because I think sometimes we have a tendency to over-Americanize things that didn't really need it.

No, in fact seeing the movies won't completely ruin the book either. Characters got taken out, probably because of budget restraints, and a lot of side story stuff got cut out.

Cool! I was out to lunch with someone today and they told me I just have to read it, so maybe I'll read the book first. I'm not sure yet. whee

I saw it in a bookstore and almost bought it, but the sales tax in that state was murder so I passed. What exactly is it about?
