McCall wandered aimlessly. She had just seen Monte, that boy she had been crushin on since they were kips with woman, looking awfully intimate.... Damn, she'd missed her chance. Great, awesome. Whatever.... Like he would have even looked her way. She was immature, and from what she heard, kind of a b***h. Meh, oh well.... onwards and upwards she supposed.
She found herself next to the spring where she had seen them. They had left, but she could still smell Monte's scent, and found herself sitting in among the scents. She took a drink from the stream and then headed towards the woods, climbing the tree nearby and sitting on the branch, tail drooping towards the ground.

It was quiet out here today. It'd been quiet for a few days actually...or longer than that. It was sorta' lonely, but mostly...
...it was boring.
Selvyn liked his freedom, loved to wander and see where his paws could take him without guidance...but it was nice to have a little company along the way sometimes. Female company was most preferable. Definitely more entertaining and pleasant.
As it was, the forest was silent for the most part, as Selvyn passed peacefully through. He was at home in the forest, if more than anywhere else, though he kept up his wandering lifestyle. It was a restlessness that kept him moving, almost a fear to be rooted in any one place for too long. He might be missing something important elsewhere!
The male arrived at a small stream, and upon taking the chance to refresh himself and get a drink, noticed the scent of a number of other 'Giets in the area. Hmm...perhaps there was the possibility of running into someone else here. Watering holes usually made for good meeting spots as well. He glanced about, trying to pick out the more recent scents in the area.

McCall spotted the green male entering the clearing. Ugh, she didn't want to run into anybody, or at least she didn't feel like it. He looked like one of those males who was into being all 'friendly' and 'together', god she couldn't deal with that right now. She wondered if she could sneak out without his noticing.
She sat frozen in the tree, debating the time it would take her to climb down, deciding if she could do it quietly.... Crap, No, she couldn't. There was too little space. Ugh, fine, looked like she was going to have to meet this male. She had left her scent all over the tree in her climbing and he would find her eventually.
She leaned forward, hopping down from the branch and walked towards the water. She took a drink before she said anything and finally lifted her head, turning to the male. "Hello." She half hoped he'd just say hi back and then leave.

Selvyn had just dunked his head into the river in an effort to cool off on such a warm day. It wasn't until he raised his head, dripping and tossing his wet hair back out of his eyes that he noticed he wasn't alone anymore. He raised an eyebrow at the female, and grinned at her greeting.
"Well, hello there, gorgeous," he chuckled, flashing her his most winning smile. He could charm birds out of their nests in trees when he really wanted to sometimes, but for now, he was just being...a little more than slightly flirtatious.

Normally, she probably would have smiled at him, his super flirtatiousness being the kind of thing she would be into, but as she was upset, she simply rolled her eyes. He wasn't unattractive, his eyes bright, his smile handsome, but she wasn't buying today. "Man, talk about a flirt...." She muttered it, not really intending him to hear it.
She took a deep breath, resolving not to be a b***h to him as he was being overly nice to her. "So, What's goin' on, flirt?" She grinned teasingly, hopeing that her being upset didn't show through, man she didn't want to explain that.

Sensing just the slightest bit of rejection, after so much experience with flirting and ladies, of course...Selvyn's ears drooped, if just a bit. Already quite wet from his dunk into the river, the male flopped down on his haunches in the shallows, hair dripping and clinging wetly to his face.
"Not too much at the moment, anyway," he answered jovially, toning down his approach just a notch. "Just enjoying a nice, if warm, day. How about you, lovely lady? Anything interesting going on around here?"

McCall watched him out of the corner of her eye and her ear twitched as she noticed the slight droop in his ears. She had gotten good at reading people over the years of trying to read Monte.
"No, there is nothing interesting going on here. Nothing at all." she smirked slightly, resolving to push her sadness out of this encounter. "Well, nothing until you showed up anyway." her tail twitched with her humor as she made an attempt to kid around with him.

While he wasn't completely oblivious, Selvyn continued as if nothing were amiss. Something wasn't right...but if she was glossing it over, then he wasn't going to push. Wasn't a good way to make friends with ladies afterall. Tended to just make them upset and they started yelling at you. Or took a swat at you, depending on the lady.
"My my," he continued, grinning charmingly, "is that so? Well then, I'm flattered that you feel meeting me is so interesting. Honored in fact." He lifted one paw at a time, stepping gingerly from the water and making sure he was a safe distance from the female before shaking the excess water from his fur. Smiling back at her again, he continued, "And who is it, if I may ask, that I have the pleasure of entertaining with my presence? You may call me Selvyn."

McCall grinned, nearly completely as he shook his fur. The water seemed to leave his fur a little puffy and it was kind of cute. She nearly pointed it out but thought better of it, figuring that he'd realize it eventually.
"I'm McCall, and you sound very conceited when you phrase it like that." she was teasing him, but she didn't seem to be on her game today.

"Do I?" He gave McCall a faux pout, ears drooping again. "Well, I'll keep that in mind then. Wasn't my intention. Certainly don't wanna' sound conceited." He gave himself a downward glance, wondering why she was looking at him as such...and belatedly realizing how his fur was fluffed out from the shaking. Heh. He could use this.
"I seem to have been turned into a puffball by some vendictive water spirit. Must be jealous that I was monopolizing all the attention from such a beautiful lady."

She grinned at him, nearly blushing. He was pretty much all charm. Meh, maybe she could forget Monte if she went along with it. Damn, there was his name in her thoughts again. Stop it.
She shook herself slightly, turning back to the subject at hand, "Well, that water spirit must really hate you. You look like a bright green dandelion after they put out seeds." She grinned, laughing slightly, shaking her head.

Shaking his head sadly, Selvyn agreed, "Indeed...these spirits can be quite vindictive. Prone to fits of jealousy and rage, especially when witness to the good fortune of others. Their own luck is quite bad, you know." He nodded sagely, glancing about as if imparting some great secret that he didn't wish for said spirits to hear.
Glancing down at himself again, Selvyn sighed. "I don't suppose you have any ideas of how to cure myself of this affliction? No dandelions or seeds, but...hmm...how to fix this horrible predicament...?" He was muttering half to himself, half to McCall, resisting the urge to grin.

McCall giggled. What? She ACTUALLY giggled, where did that come from? She internally shook herself and grinned widely, "Hmmmm.... You could go roll in the grass?"
She stepped back and examined him with a somewhat critical eye, mocking seriousness. "Maybe you should keep it like that! You could be a trendsetter! In a month's time it could be all-the-rage with the Lu'Befri!" she grinned widely, imagining every Lu'Befri she had ever met all fluffed up like that, wings included and nearly started to giggle again.
