Have a re-occurring or one time dream/nightmare that you feel may have some meaning behind it?
Please do share your dream experiences here with us or feel free to pm me if your shy and one of our wistful crew members will respond promptly I assure you. Please use the subject: Dream Deciphering for pms so that we will know what it's about.

Stages of Sleep & You

Stage 1: Is when you're starting into a light sleep. This stage is characterized by Non-rapid eye movements, muscle relaxation, lowered body temperature and slowed heart rate. Your body is preparing to go into a deep sleep.

Stage 2: Is characterized by a further drop in body temperature and relaxation of the muscles; the body's immune system goes to work on repairing the day's damage. The endocrine glands secrete growth hormones, while blood is sent to the muscles to be reconditioned. You're completely asleep in this stage.

Stage 3: Is a deeper sleep were you're metabolic levels are extremely slow.

Stage 4: Is when your eyes move back and forth erratically as though you're watching something from underneath you're eyelids. This stage occurs at about 90 to 120 minutes after the onset of sleep. Your blood pressure rises, heart rate speeds up, respiration becomes erratic and brain activity increases and you're involuntary muscles also become paralyzed or immobilized. This stage is the most restorative part of sleep as you're mind is being revitalized and emotions is being fine tuned. The majority of your dreaming occurs at this time and if you're awakened during this stage of sleep, you are more likely to remember your dreams.

The stages repeat themselves throughout the night as you sleep. As the cycle repeats; you'll spend less time in the first three stages and more time dreaming in the last stage. Mean, it will be faster and faster for you to get to stage 4 each time the cycle repeats.

What to Think About

An outline that may better help us decipher your dreams more accurately.

Time (time of day/time period), Place and setting?

Was there anyone recognizably present with you in your dream?

What occurred (give as much detail as possible)?

We're you aware at all during your dream that you we're dreaming?

How did you feel before you went to sleep/when you woke up (mentally, emotionally and physically)?

How many times have you had this dream?

How real or surreal did the dream feel to you?

And is there a possibility that you may have watched/ had done something / or had something happen to you recently or previously that coincides with this dream?
