In the land of Tomashi, there is the small country town of Susume.
The town of Susume has everything a small town should; a library, a clinic, a small school and a peaceful shrine.
After certain festivals, people like to make wishes at the shrine. Not many of the children and teens find this to be very interesting or even expect anything to happen, but some people know better than others...
Akihiko Choukichi was a normal boy who lived in Susume for many years. He was very popular and outgoing and had many friends. After a festival, his friends dared him to make a wish at the shrine. They thought about what he should wish for and jokingly decided on 'True Love'.
When nothing happened, none of the boys were surprised and they continued on their simple life in Susume.
Oddly though, a few days later, a new boy appeared in the town.
Nobody knew anything about Yume, except that he is 16, is very cheerful and seemed to be living by himself. His lack of parents worried a lot of the villagers but they didn't want to ask him about it, worried it would bring up painful memories.
