Sadly Enough it was Guitar Hero 3 it had a sex pistols song on it. I became obsessed and it kinda just rolled on from there.

The lifestyle? I've always been punk, I just didn't know there was a name or music genre for people like me until I was 17.
What put the sound of punk in my head was Blink-182 when I was 12. ******** you, Blink is more punk than you. It took 5 years before I actually got into punk. While in search for bloody raw rock n roll that made me wanna rock the ******** out, I watched the Sex Pistols documentary "The Filth and the Fury". It blew my mind. It was EXACTLY the raw sound I was looking for. No watered down bullshit like the 60's rock bands I was listening to. No formulated ******** garbage, just raw blistering rock! From that point on, I knew my attitude had a name and a genre of music I could actually relate to. I've found all sorts of bands over the years, and have gone through a few random phases with the music, and here I am now, 22 years old, and still punk as ********. Punk rock changed my life.

Until I was about 10 I was still living in the 60's, 70's and 80's with my Dad and listening to the Stooges and Donovan and Frank Zappa and stuff like that... and then I picked up a Dookie album one day at Walmart and opened up new s**t for me.

^ i can relate somehow
because when i first really started listening, it was just bands like nofx rancid and antiflag. i used to think sum 41 was punk as hell when i heard them on the radio when K rock thrived . i musta been 13 around this time hanging out with my brother and a bunch of his friends skating. started taking blues guitar lessons learned a LOT of music appreciation and theory. i had the best most wise a** guitar instructor who introduced me to the clash, ramones, sex pistols and so on and so forth
i went to my first punk rock show to see The Lucky ******** - (staten island local band) when i first lived there at 14. and ever since then punk has always been that one thing i just cant get enough of. then i went on to my psychobilly phase, but thats a different story hahahah

My mom helped jump start me into punk. I spent the first 5 years of my life listening to my mom's Clash and Ramone albums.... as well as U2(Hey ******** you! They were pretty rad back in the day), obviously being 5 at the time, I'm not gonna identify myself as a punk or anything else like that. It wasn't until my friend blasted the Offspring's 'Smash' album on his stereo one day where I got into other bands and such.

I would say that it was Offspring's Smash album that started it. I would say that was about 1996 or so when I got that. Then just kept adding onto the list of musicians from there. Got into ska the following year with Mighty Mighty Bosstones' Let's Face It. By 2002 I was a complete music elitist about not listening to anything but those two genres. Now I have mellowed out a bit

it's a funny story, actually. me and brasky were paling around talking about how boring the music of the day was when he plopped himself down in an empty lot on Georgia ave. well we waited there for a full year when, wouldn't you know it, people built an entire club dedicated to fast, angry music around us. we stayed for the first band's set and then set the place on fire, brasky yelling over the roar of the flames "always leave things the way you found it, jimmy ol' boy..."
yeah that bill brasky is a son of a b***h...

Back when I was like 8 years old and vulnerable to take in any kind of music my dads ex's son got me into Blink182, Green Day, pop punk stuff like that. I still love those bands. From there I got into NOFX, Anti Flag, The Restarts, etc.
Although I have to admit I listen to a lot more Goth Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative and Industrial then punk. Depends on my mood.
I change my music genre preference with the weather, pretty much. Punk is my music of choice when I'm out painting (Graffiti Artist) or whatnot. TOO MANY ********, I aint' no' punk. I'm a sensitive little indie-goth manbitch.
I don't belong here. xD

man, i grew up listening to anything and everything, because my dad collects music. he actually bought me a bunch of my first CD's. i really started getting into punk after he got me my first misfits CD when i turned 13, and when he got me a collection of punk from the 70's. it's pretty much changed my life (as sappy as that is), and i'm still branching out with what i'm listening to.
