Long ago in the land of Ivalice, years after the heretic Ramza passed away and Alitma was sealed away, never to bother the world again, unknown to all, another problem began to arise.
A foolish mage, named Niles, who was tired of being picked on and teased by his fellow peers, decided to try and show them that he was not to be underestimated. He spent a few years gathering the ingredients necessary to compose the spell.
On the fateful night, when all was calm and the moon was full, Niles chanted and cast his spell. But alas! Nothing happened....
....Until he tried to walk. He found himself stuck in place and his skin slowly peeling away. Niles tried to scream but to no avail. It was a painful and long process but the foolish mage found a new life in his new form; as a lich.
The lich soon wandered out into the village and his first victims were his tormentors. Instead of remaining dead, they groaned and stirred; moaned and rose as his new army.
There was nothing left of the village save for a hallow shell of what it once was. The villagers now followed their new leader; the lich, Naglemure.
He had created a thing unknown and no matter where he went, it left a trail of death and destruction. Niles, in his last act as a human, had created a undead virus that Holy Water could not cure.
Some were immune to the disease and watched with sorrow as loved ones turned and had no choice to kill them. Others weren't immune but were lucky to survive for as long as they did.
Now a team of people, stuck to survive in the midst of this chaos, must work together to find a cure and bring down the lich.
Are you immune or are you one who think they are? Will you be a hero or will you become the undead?

The Rules of Engagement
The rule that should be common sense is to survive. Survive for as long as you can. But here are a few others to make sure we have fun:
1. Follow Gaia's TOS. 2. Follow the Guild's rules. 3. No God Modding. I'll allow some power play but make it fair. 4. Use "blah" for speech and (blah blah) for OOC. 5. You can play as many characters as you want so long as you can handle it (and the consequences). 6. PM me with any questions and/or concerns. 7. What I say goes, bottom line. 8. Any violation of these rules will result in a warning on the first offense. Any further offenses shall be dealt with at my discretion. **RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. WILL LET YOU KNOW BUT KEEP UP TOO**
Undead Status
That's right. This section is key to understanding your enemy.
Your main enemy encounters are the undead. This means as much as you want to, Holy Water is well, water these days (Did I mention its yummy?). Cleanse/Esuna/Spells of that sort do not also cure the undead status. So save your one spell for healing okay?
The Undead status blocks the Reraise status, and vice versa. This means that an Undead character can't receive Reraise status. You can prevent a character from becoming Undead by putting Reraise status. In other words, white mages are your friends. Be nice to them and they might know Reraise and cast it on you. Be mean and it was nice knowing ya chum.
A word to the wise: keep track of your health! This is very very important! Undead characters CANNOT be revived with Phoenix Down or the Raise/Arise magicks. But, the Monk's "Revive" ability does work. So also make buddy buddy with the monk.

Heartbroken, John buried her only to have her in the middle of the night arise and kill her brother.
In an effort to save his family, John tried to evacuate them only to lose his wife in the crowd of the undead and later his other son in a forest.
As for meeting his odd fellow companion; John stumbled upon the camp and was surprised to learn of another survivor from the Gemini Order. Other: Does not know Gravick is not immune and does not understand why the man is so paranoid over the 'germs'.

History: Gravick studied hard as a child to be a mage, but was a slacker. He never took his studies seriously except for the fire spells as he enjoyed setting things on fire. His parents gave up all means of getting Gravick to take his studies seriously and sent him off to the Order in hopes of helping him focus. However, Gravick arrived just as the odd flu hit the Order and caused havoc. Gravick did what he could to aid his fellow peers but fled.
Worried about being called a coward, Gravick stayed away until he met Dawson. Other: He knows he's not immune. Most of the Black Dragoons became infected, and were quickly dispatched by the remaining few survivors, who could not agree what the best course of action was, and disbanded. Varratzen now makes a living as a psuedo-mercenary who'll fight for anyone who can spare enough supplies to "hire" him. Other: He is more active during the night, than the day.

Over the years, Hyato made a name for himself within the Order for being a highly skilled marksmen. Hyato and Dominic have had a storied rivalry ever since Tsunaimei selected the youth to join the White Phoenix. They constantly try to one up each other in terms of ability and showmanship which has resulted in many a physical confrontation between the two. He alongside with Raipheale were dispatched to help the Order of Gemini in their time of need. Other: He is one of the founding members of the White Phoenix. Lady Tsunaimei dubbed him "The Maverick" considering that he defied carrying out orders to her liking more times than she can remember. Hyato oversees the more reconnaissance type missions and ranged training when it comes to matters of the White Phoenix. One time during a defensive battle at Dugeura Pass, Hyato shot down 100 men all by his lonesome. Hyato and Raipheale constantly fight like brothers and the two of them are very rarely ever seen by themselves.
User Name: The Super Penguin Character Name: Raipheale Plateaigo, Codename: "The Angel of Chaos" Age:45 Gender: Male Immune?: Immune Class: Arc Knight Sub-Class: Black Mage Order: Virgo Weapon: 2x Claw Blades, Black Magic Action Abilities: Blood Suck, Magic Ruin, Power Ruin, Mind Ruin, Speed Ruin, Asura, Kotetsu, Osafune, Muramasa, Kikuichimonji, Chikijiraden, Fire 1-4, Ice 1-4, Lightning 1-4, Shadow Bolt, Poison, Toad, Death, Flare Reaction Ability: Magic Boost Support Ability: Two Hands Movement Ability: Teleport 2 Appearance: Raipheale Personality: Originally, Raipheale was once that of a psychotic mastermind of murder and destruction, who loved nothing more than to make his victims suffer in the worst way possible and then add insult to injury for his own personal amusement. Thanks in large part to Hyato and Altima, he turned over a new leaf, the Demon Angel is quite humble and generous despite his physical appearance. Generally, he always has a calm demeanor about him and usually keeps to himself unless need be. Every now and then he struggles to kept his demonic tendencies in check. History: Raipheale was once a normal man studying Black Magic in Obea when he was kidnapped by a cult of foolish mages trying to use forbidden rituals to summon a demon for their own means. Though successful in summoning a powerful demon to be hosted within Raipheale's body, what the cultists didn't count on was the fact they were powerless to control it. The ritual forever changed Raipheale's body, most notably giving him demonic bat-like wings, changing his eye color from brown to a bright yellow, and giving him a demonic echo in his tone of voice. Shortly after being reborn as a demonic angel of sorts, Raipheale went on a rampage slaughtering nearby settlements. His best friend, Hyato Krouger, made the discovery too little too late and the two engaged in an epic battle just outside Virgo HQ which resulted in Raipheale losing his left eye. Raipheale was about to deal the final blow to Hyato when Lady Fiora summoned Altima in an effort to save the marksman's life. Altima managed to purify most of the demonic presence within Raipheale but could not completely remove it. Despite his redemption, Raipheale has served Virgo for the same amount of time Hyato. Other: Over the years, Raipheale has been able to control the evil demon within him. He was also another founding member of the White Phoenix. Hyato granted him the name of "The Angel of Chaos" for being a nearly unstoppable force on the battlefield. Then again once he loses his sense of control of his emotions all hell breaks loose. He joined the Order of Virgo the same time Hyato did. Raipheale and Hyato have been friends since childhood.

It was dawn when a pair of shadowy figures moved against the edge of the of the Siedge Woods forest; jogging and glancing back as they moved. One wore heavy robes with a hood and seemed to glance back more often than the unspoken leader of the pair who wore light armor and kept his eyes forward, gritting his teeth against the cold.
"I-I don't see them!" The robed one snarled to the armored man. "Yeah?! Well I don't need to see 'em to smell 'em!" He snapped back, glaring at his companion.
"And I thought I was the paranoid one!" "Pfffft! I'm not paranoid; I'm wary, cautious and alert! Whether you realize it or not Gravick, your a commodity these days. How many mages managed to learn Reraise before this madness?!"
Gravick fell silent and the two continued their travel to a small, deserted village they had spotted a few miles back. The town bore emblems of a fellow Order but the two men were too tired and too hungry to care or recognize them. All they wanted to do was to run as fast as possible to Igros Castle where they believed they could hole up safely and wait for the madness to pass....or at least a glorious last stand.
"Dawson, this could be a trap." Gravick muttered. "What if they are waiting for us?"
Dawson snorted. "As if they're smart enough. If there is any around here, we'll kill them. No questions asked." With that, Dawson patted the greatsword he kept sheathed on his back.
"Its why I carry a blade." "And I set things on fire."
Dawson only rolled his eyes. "We'll split up and search the houses for any food and other supplies. We'll meet back here." Gravick grimaced but only nodded in reply. As Dawson moved to a house, Gravick couldn't help but shoot one last parting sentence.
"And it was nice knowing you because you got, oh I dunno. Ambushed." Dawson only shot a glare.

Delaire sat on a large stone which was a piece of rubble from a village that was once used for the inhabitants of the Order of Sagittarius while the compound was being constructed. Garrick in the meantime was standing on a branch at the top of a tree, scanning the area they'd just came from for anything that may have been following them.
"Did we lose them?" Delaire called to him, not keeping too much watch of the deserted village behind them.
"No, they headed back to finish off the rest of the castle guard. They just lost interest." Garrick answered before turning and leaping out of the tree, landing hard but solid on the ground, not being phased at all from the impact.
"I can't believe this, Garrick." "I know, never did I think that Igros would fall so quickly." "If castles can't keep out the undead threat, what hope do we have?" Garrick turned to look at Delaire, observing the desperation in his eyes. "There's much more we can do to survive, friend. There are stronger fortresses than Igros Cas-" Just then he heard a distant sound of someone letting a door close loudly behind them.
Their weapons drawn, the two moved quickly to search for what caused the noise. Within seconds Garrick was on top of one roof in a long string of houses. With a silent nod they proceeded to search out who or what else was in this version.

Unaware that danger lurked nearby, the two continued their search. Dawson sighed, finding little to eat save a couple mounds of cheese and meat that he'd rather not know what it was before. He strolled into another house before he called out to the mage.
"Find anything?" "Rats. Yum. Just I was hungry for!"
Dawson shook his head and sighed. "Out of everyone....I get stuck with him! HIM!" he grumbled, moving aside some rubble in hopes of finding food.
Gravick managed to find a flask and popped it open, sniffing the contents. "I think I found a potion!" He called out, placing the cork back on and tucking it away somewhere in his robes. "Nothing is here! Its been ransacked already! Let's just make a break already for Igros!"
Dawson snorted. "No! Not ill prepared!" He dusted his hands, headed outside and to the house Gravick's voice gravitated from. It was a house that would had served his family well if they were alive and if times were better. If. The thought made his throat fill with bile and bitter words. "C'mon. I bet there's something in the barracks here at least."
Gravick shrugged. "I doubt it. I think its already been ransacked."
Dawson sighed for the third time. "Whatever. Fine. Stay here. I'm heading to the barracks." With that, the pair split again; Gravick staying in the house and Dawson moving to the barracks.

Hiding on the other side of a wall, Delaire listened to the bickering, knowing that they were just refugees from how hungry they seemed. Looking to the rooftops for Garrick he saw just the head of his companion as he laid on his stomach eves dropping as well. As the pair finished their bickering and parted ways again, Garrick looked to Delaire wondering if he came to the same conclusion.
With a reverent nod, Delaire sheathed the blade of his sword silently, stepping out of his hiding place, Garrick staying hidden in case there was more to these refugees than met the eye.
"Hello! I couldn't help but over hear the two of you arguing! I was wondering if you needed any assistance." He called to them, making sure that both of them could hear his shouting greeting.

Varr, the black dragoon, wandered into a small deserted town with little of anything left. There even seemed to be less undead than usual. Varr found an item shop that seemed to be fairly intact, and walked toward it. However, a zombie had placed itself between him, and the shop. Without even slowing down for a moment, Varr had shoved his lance into the zombie, and threw it's corpse aside. The loud "Thunk" of the corpse hitting the ground echoed throuout the town, which caught the attention of more local zombies.
Seeing that at least four zombies had started waddling toward him, Varr uncaringly entered the store, and started rummaging through the leftover items within. Finding a few potions, a pheonix down, and an antidote, Varr decided that he would not likely find anything more within the store.
Soon however, the zombies had reached the store and started clawing at the door, and wall. Varr quickly concealed himself, and hid behind the counter. The zombies broke through the door, and stumbled in. Even without seeing anyone there, the zombies continued to walk through the store. After all of them were inseide the store, Varr quickly made his way to the exit, and breathed fire inside the store, thus catching it on fire from the inside out. Varr quickly ran from the store as it burned, and the zombies inside were incinerated.
Varr was being chased be many zombies now. Seeing himself outnumbered, and outpowered, Varr braced himself, and jumped high into the air, and onto the roof of a two-story building, thus losing the zombies, which continued to walk in straight lines in many different directions. Varr decided to wait on the roof untill he had a better chance to escape, or continue his search.

Their first instinct was to draw their weapons, having been such a long time since they heard another's voice except one another. The last group of survivors they had come across, Gravick's constant grumblings had gotten them kicked out which made Dawson furious at him for quite some time.
When they saw he had come out without wielding a weapon, Dawson relaxed and sheathed his but Gravick remained ready. "Greetings! Its been sometime since we saw a fellow survivor! As for assistance, perhaps you can tell us if we are on the right road to Igros Castle? We've come a long way." As he spoke, he shot Gravick a glare, telling him to stay silent. But the mage didn't heed it; in fact he out right ignored it.
"I bet Igros Castle is no better off than Zeltennia or Tanya Castle! I wouldn't be surprised if its crawling with undead! No place is safe from the damned creatures these days!" "Ugh! Will be silent for once?!" "What? Its true!"
Dawson only shook his head. "We are also in search of food. Might you have some to spare?" He held up the cheese he found and the meat. "So far, our luck has been rather ill and this all we've managed to find."

Through the forest, past one tree then the next, her steps powered her endurance restoring her mental state as she fled. Her home now burned far behind her, her family dead, gone, turned. Krysta had been running for so long, no direction just terror. monsters and corpses leaping at her from anywhere they could hide within the blasted forest. Her feet had been carrying her for nearly two days without rest, she was at her limit. Hearing something behind her she pushed onward, powerless within her panic. She caught a glimpse of a different color in the woods, at first she assumed it was a threat, then she realized it was stationary. Turning sharply she narrowly escaped a lunge from a man infected. She hurried toward the gray mass in the distance, it looked like a town. Pleading in her mind for safety it wa all she could do not to cry from the fear.

Delaire heard seemed somewhat hurt upon hearing or some of the other castles. "Sadly your friend is correct. Igros is overrun. I'm a knight of the Hokuten." It was then that he began searching through his pack. "Sadly, we had no word of an attack before it had happened, otherwise I would've brought more food. All I have are some field rations, which could be stretched to last all of us for the next two days.... though they appear to be mostly cheese." He said in a somewhat annoyed tone before he sealed his pack up not handing over any of the food. "May I ask where you are both from?" He questioned still weary of the two, doing his best to choose his words so that he had never lied but did not disclose the presence of Garrick.
The lancer in the meantime found some trust in them due to their bickering but stayed watchful. He knew that it was now his duty to keep an eye on all the surroundings, not just those they'd just encountered. Seeing movement in the forest behind them he watched. It was at most three zombies, but it could've only been one. He readied himself for an attack but knew it may simply be someone in need of assistance.

Dawson's face visibly sank and looked saddened. The knight missed the annoyance at the mention of cheese but heard his question. "We hail from the Gemini Order. As I've said; a long way and so far from home. I had hoped that we might find safety somewhere...."
It was around then Gravick had begun to smell something on fire. He sniffed the air like a bloodhound and began to wonder away, following the smell. Dawson continued to speak, not noticing the mage wandering away from his side.
"I suppose the three of us should team up with one another. More the merrier right? And better chance of survival. Isn't that right Gravick?" Dawson then turned to his right to see the mage gone. "Gravick?! Where the hell did you go now?!"
The mage had managed to wander over to the burning item shop and wondered who had done it. Gravick fell into defense stance and eyed the area. "Who's here?!" He called out.

She was nearing the end of the trees when she saw them, people. Non-infected people. Just as she saw them she heard them. 'Where the hell did you go now?!' one of them shouted. She tried to call back for help but she couldn't, too tired, too exhausted, too out of breath. Instead she ran harder, feeling the corpse at her heels. She finally left the forest into a deserted village, heading straight for a couple of men who'd been conversing, they both carried weapons though only one was in armor. Tears of hope began to stream down her face, her vision blurred, she tripped and fell, all her hope was lost as she tumbled. Landing on her back she saw two corpses coming at her, one before the other, all she could think to do was scream.

Garrick saw a girl emerge from the forest, sprinting wildly toward his comrade while being followed closely by undead. She fell just as Garrick had gotten to his feet. Leaping into the air he came down halberd first onto one of the zombies, then quickly backhanded the next, clotheslining him with his elbow causing the zombie to back flip forward. With a quick twist of his pole-arm he finished off one corpse and turned to the next, it seemed it had broken it's back from a bad landing of the somersault. Offering his hand to the girl he smiled, showing some kindness in his eyes. "Are hurt miss? That was a close call."
((From now on Delaire will be this color.))
Putting his hand on his sword he was ready for combat as the girl began to scream, but quickly relaxed as he saw Garrick's shadow pass from the rooftop to the fight. Acting casually he spoke to Dawson once again. "About this 'the three of us' business. That man that just landed there, with the spear, is my friend Garrick, also a knight of the Hokuten. He was making sure we were safe whilst I learned your intentions, and it would seem he's done his job well enough to save someone else. My name is Delaire, what do you say we go find Gravick since it looks like there will be more undead here soon?" Delaire spoke clearly and without worry in his voice, reverence was one of his specialties.
