Armoring vehicles is a good idea. Get something like a van, cut off the top, cover the top in a mesh or a cage, make a plow out of sheet metal and place it on the front of the car. Make room in the mesh to fit out weapons such as rifles, etc and remove the windscreen and replace it with strong iron mesh. I'd also but ice chains on the tires.

You don't always have to kill a zombie to stop it, if you have a blade with a long reach such as the katana, you can dismember the limbs ( the arms and legs) and you stop the chase.
Zombies can also be stopped by ''incineration'', us survivors are capable of fire, a good way to deal with a large group of zombies, is to either create a wall of fire, throw a molotov, or if you got the guts, go pyromaniac on them, with fire, you can gradually deteriate their brain tissue, and they'll inevitabley fall.

When It comes to barricades, heavily reinforced windows and doors are good in general, but modifications can be made with the right skill and tools, for instance, you can set a tripwire that will trigger the chainsaw rev to activate and shreds zombies to nothing but spewed guts and organs.

Large buildings are difficult to protect, a small area such as an apartment house can be a bit easier to defend, the more people that you have on hand the better, if you have no choice but to protect an area such as a mall or school, use radios to stay in touch with your team.

Weapons of choice can be difficult, most primary weapons should remain at the limit from long range to medium, secondaries are considered short range to point blank. Examples of long range weapons are rifles, assault rifles or explosives, examples for medium ranges are normally machine guns, examples of short ranges or point blanks are pistols (or similar single handed weapon) shotguns, melee weapons, or machine pistols. Long or medium ranges are used at best. WARNING: The short to point blank range weapons, should be used for UP-CLOSE-AND PERSONAL ONLY, never for constant use.

Melee weapons are a difficult choice as they are used only at close range of the zombie, HOWEVER, some melee weapons possess practical uses, example, the crowbar can be used to pry doors and windows open, also it does have a sharp end, enabling for a quick stab to the eye if needed. The axe can be used for chopping down doors too. Also, lead/iron pipes or beams can be used as a second line of barricade on doors. Examples of not very useful melee weapons include the hammer, with it's short reach and heavy handling, screwdrivers, Frying pans, ect.

Unfortunately, there is no known cure for the infection, if you become infected, your only going to grow more and more of a threat to your group. If one of your teammates has become infected, they are a danger and will try to kill you, making it even more difficult, emotions may cause you to hesitate, and is normal, but there is no other way... They must be put to rest. In a world of an apocalypse, you have room for one mantra only... Numbness, is the path to survival.

Vehicles
Vehicles have pros and con's, if you are traveling to another area with a group, suv's or jeeps and trucks work well. But, they will make noise and make much more likely engaged by either zombies or even crazed raiders that kill for pleasure and for loot.

Psychopaths
In the chaos driven world, zombies aren't the only problem, people can eventually be corrupted, and may lose their will to reason and just kill, raid and take whatever they can get there sinister hands on, and there not into asking... ''Politely''.

Body armor is something a lot of people think about. The first choice of a suit of armor may seem like a great idea, being completely surrounded in metal, buy it's bulky, loud, hot, and most importantly, slow. This would make you no more than walking tuna. Instead think of sharks. When handling sharks, divers wear aluminum chain mail. This is lightweight and fairly quite. If you can get fine chain mail you could potentially keep from being bitten.

Explosives
Most people have been dooped into thinking explosives are great to use on zombies, well. YOUR WRONG, a hand grenade would just explode shards of concrete on the zombies, having little chance to hit them in the head. This means, if your too close, YOU could be the one getting cut by shards of concrete, and thats not even the worst part. If the grenade goes off and does kill the zombie(s) then it could just end up showering you with infectious blood and internal organs. However, this does not mean that explosives are ENTIRELY useless, explosives can be used for a much more practical use. They can be used to blast down a locked door if a crowbar is unavailable, or a permanent barricade. So there you have it. Science. Are you gonna argue with science? ARE YOU!?!?

The Ultimate Weapon
You may think that the best weapon in the world to use against the undead hordes is a minigun, a flamethrower, an AK-47 or a Katana. Well, YOUR WRONG! The best weapon in the entire world to combat zombies, is... YOU YOURSELF. In regular every day life, when there is NO apocalypse, you should train your body to become the mean green killing machine. Meaning in english, "Get off the couch, quit playing Xbox all day, and do some athletic work ya lazy bum." Americans are notorious for their laziness, poor diet and lack of exercise. Remember, only you can prevent mad zombie virus.

Friendly fire
Likely there will be tension between the group of survivors if the outbreak lasts a long time. The constant sounds of moaning, the lack of sleep, or the panic of low supplies will drive some people mad. If someone in your group threatens to attack you or someone in your group, attempt to calm them down, or reason with them. However if they persist in the threat, take action and warn them to relax or they will regret it.

Types of blades
Katanas are the toughest of all the blades in the world, but of course not EVERYONE can get their hands on them. So you should find a substitute for the rare katana. Combat knives, khukuris, and even bayonets will do.
