*throw confetti*
I've been working on my doujinshi scanlation website, working at a fast food restaurant and watching NCIS in order with my family.
How about you?

@Mistina Huh, are you hand coding, using a WYSIWYG editor, or using a template? *loves web design* @わきのした What kind of Japanese Language school? I've been reading Japanese novels, learning new Japanese words and playing Bokura no Fantasia AKA Bo-Fan, I'd kind of forgotten about my Mixi (Japan's largest social network, or it was until Twitter became larger than it about a month ago. It's pretty Facebook-like, from the little I know of Facebook, but everyone uses fake names, so they don't have to worry about privacy, which is nice) account, I logged in and found out that they added apps. smile I guess they're copying Facebook, even though Facebook's a huge failure in Japan, because they don't want to lose to Twitter. Anyway, Bo-fan's pretty cool. It's like zOMG in that it feels more like a download RPG than a BBG RPG, but the graphics are more 2-D which I like. It's too bad it only works in Mixi.

Bokusenou @わきのした What kind of Japanese Language school? *also loves web design* *** I thought I'd quickly mention this now - our main forum has no limits to what you post here. Off-topic, or not! We recommend that if you want to start something like a role play, that you post that in our Role Play forum. . . however, all Off-Topic threads belong in the main forum. (Our version of Gaia's Chatterbox, LOL.) So post threads to your heart's content everyone~ ;D I've been reading some Japanese books as well~ . . . . Some old kids' books Miu's younger brother gave me. D; NEVERTHELESS; they're really helpful and I'm working through each one with a dictionary and a notebook. One thing I noticed, however, is that all the stories in them are very, VERY depressing !!
One is about a man that rides a turtle down to Japan-version-Atlantis, parties with the princess for 100 years, gets booted out with a good-bye present, opens it ashore--and becomes an old man after realizing all his friends had died. DO YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN ?? D;

@ Haruyoi I only took Japanese 101 in high school. crying Also, I need glasses too! I just haven't gotten around to booking an appointment with the optometrist. ^^;; @ Bokunesou I'm using dreamweaver. I can't code to save my life so I'm starting the site and having my friend finish it for me. OCDPurple ParadiseThese are what I have started. I've given up on divs. I can't figure them out. I have figured out iframes, but only because I was soooo in love with frames ten years ago... Frames hasn't changed very much.

Should I change the thread title then? sweatdrop Ah, the story of Urashima Tarou (or Tarou Urashima said the English way I guess)? That's a pretty well known story. It kind of reminded me of Pandora's box, the way he was told not to open the box and he did. @Mistina Yourhtmlsource.com helped me a lot when I was learning this stuff. Here's the part on divs. BTW, did you make the graphics yourself?

@りんちゃん;; ええ?!In my version of うらしまたろう, the princess told him to open it when he came ashore !! and He did what she said. . . he came ashore and BAM. T__T
Oh, and no no--it's fine. I just wanted everyone to know~ I've been thinking about changing the main-forum's name to "Chatterbox" anyways~
^the above is a deeply engaging, serious discussion on a children's novel. Yes. I listen to "Mary-san no Hitsuji" when no one's home. I could go pro. American Idol, here I come~ xD

Really? In the version I read, she said he should never open the box, I guess like any legend versions differ on things though. Ok, just making sure it's alright.

Well, I'm taking summer classes, seven Saturdays (From 8:45 am - 12:30 am) You learn the culture, language, and food. Yesterday during snack break, we made and ate onigiri and miso soup (we didn't make the soup). Then 2 Saturdays before that there was a Shinkendo demonstration. The Japanese guy from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was there demonstrating it. This year the theme is "Samurai."
I'm really learning a lot!

I'm really learning a lot! That's great! I hope the classes aren't too light on kanji. @Everyone I guess I should mention this (not sure what thread to put it in) the guild's advertising thread is here, if once in a while you guys could check if it's on the first page and if it's not, bump it then that would be a great help. Currently Rikki and I are the only ones bumping that thread.

@ Bokusenou
Yup, I made all the graphics myself. That was my cool for my website reboot. No more using anime art, make it yourself!
And thank you very much for the link. I will check them out. In the meantime I'm going to put in iframes. iframes aren't a no-no are they? When I told my computer graphics teacher I used to code frames, he flipped. ^^;;

Some people don't like them because frames/iframes used to cause problems in search engines (somewhat fixed I think) and they're not very mobile-friendly. Personally I don't think they're that bad, but let's just say it's as unpopular as using Comic Sans, with some people.

I used Adobe Illustrator then Adobe Photoshop.
Ah, I see. I'll have someone convert my stuff to divs later. Don't want to piss off the hardcore coders, do I? ^^

Well, my teacher hasn't taught any Kanji yet, that's only for students that attend during the fall and spring.
OH NO!! WHAT AM I DOING!?! THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE OFF TOPIC!
Let's see, does anyone watch the Nick Jr. Channel in America?
