NEVER go to the airplane bathroom unless it's an emergency......I hate those SO much, but that's just my opinion.

Do people really have sex in them? I mean, you'd think that they'd be able to wait until they got to wherever they were going...
Hmm. Drinking water and eating lightly while travelling has always made it a more endurable experience for me, but...

Learn the word for exit in whatever language it is where you are going. It helps a lot.

Hhhmmm...I don't think so. I mean, you'll hear noises if you sit next to it and it'll be strange to the other passengers that 'one' person is hogging up the bathroom for the whole time....

Always have something to occupy yourself with if the flight is really long. Sometimes they have movies, but those only last around 2 hours. If you don't have anything to do, you'll be bored to death!

If you’re going to another country and bringing electronics, check the electric current and outlets to see if they're the same in your own country, if not there are adapters you can buy smile

Double check your customs paper. Especially if you've been awake for awhile...

Know the word for toilet/bathroom.

If your flight is more than 4-5 hours, get up and walk around (bathroom and back should work, don't have to use it, just need to get the blood flowing).

Know how to pop your ears. it makes the change in altitude whether ascending or descending feel a lot nicer.

If you have ANYTHING valuable/breakable in your check-in bag (that will be tossed into the plane), tell the nice person at the baggage check-in and they will mark your bag so your valuables have a much higher chance of remaining intact

Every airline is different; make sure you know if your checked baggage is free, how much it can weigh, how many you can have, if you have a refundable ticket, how the airline seats people on the airplane, etc.

For travel through an American Airport;

Get to the airport at least 2 hours ahead of your scheduled flight. There's a good chance you'll spend quite a bit of time in line for security.

Security is pretty tight. be prepared to take off your shoes, remove coats, sweatshirts, metal beltbuckles etc. take laptops out of their cases, shut off your electronics, no more than 3 liquid oz of almost any liquid (and the containers must be in a plastic bag), and have your boarding pass and ID in hand to show security.
Leave pocket knives, small scissors, etc. in your checked-in baggage or at home.

Find reliable reviews of the hotel you want to stay at before booking. It will not only help you make sure that the hotel is good, but usually people will comment about the area around the hotel, giving you an idea of what kind of place it is.

I don't know if any of my tips will be of any use.. But to those of you whom are like me and get motion sickness extremely easily, do take Dramamine. That stuff works wonders..

@Baltic State Lithuania: It's true. Arizona's drinking water is horrid. Lol. 8D I think I can say that as a fact for living there for 14 years! I was so impressed with the drinking water in MA. Lol.

Hmm a good travel tip: Learn the emergency numbers for different countries if you plan to go to another country. This is because they are different in different countries.

Something I learned at Band camp:
If you are in a large group in an unfamiliar area, use the buddy system if you have to leave the group. If you don't you might get lost/hurt/SNATCHED!

Here's a couple travel tips from my French and Spanish teachers:

1. If you're traveling to a different country, make sure you know enough of that country's language so you'll be able to enjoy your trip. You don't have to be a complete master at it, but you might find yourself wanting to order something at a restaurant, asking for directions, or even making a friend or two in said country. (Advice from French teacher)

2. If you're alone, when taking transportation or walking around, keep an eye on whatever valuables you might be carrying with you, so as to avoid being pickpocketed. (This advice came from my Spanish teacher)

When you are in Loas
Don't take pictures of people, that is rude, don't touch there head. And if they offer food take it. Also Don't drink ANYTHING with ice that doesnt have holes through the middle. One that do not have holes through the middle will cause extream sickness (and this is horrible)

When in Thailand
Everyone is lovely here, so be lovely back. Do not shout! Also Wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees. I have seen people countless times wear skimpy clotheing and the Thai's dislike this and find it rude. Don't touch monks heads. And don't touch monks.

When in Australia.
get a plane ticket home. QUICKLY

I have never actually traveled but I have heard a lot of tips from various teachers and exchange students:

Be careful when crossing the streets in Rome! My friend was almost hit by a nun on a scooter lol.

When in France, avoid vendors that are around the Eiffel Tower. They will convince you to try on a bracelet and you will not be able to get it off until you buy it for some outrageous price.

When in Paris, France, be weary of bringing large bags, backpacks on public transportation. There is a high chance of items going missing because they will know you are a tourist. AKA easy pickings!

In Germany, never show up early for anything. This is very rude to your host in that country.

I think that is all for now!
