I've gotten into what is probably the worst hobby for someone trying to lose weight. I'm baking!
Yesterday I made a delicious apple bread that the entire family raved about, but despite my best efforts, it was way too many calories!
It's so hard not to take a taste of what I'm making...

Ooh, I can see how that could pose a problem...
My suggestion:
1) Keep baking! I don't know what your baking habits are like, but picking a new project every week will hone your skills. Don't sacrifice the hobby.
2) Share. Share a LOT. That way you don't end up eating all of it yourself, gorging yourself on the same calories you've been trying to lose -- and everyone you know will love you forever.

Thanks, that's good advice. smile
Luckily, I'm baking mainly so I can sell the loaves off and make a little money (since I'm still having trouble getting a job...) so I'm not snacking too bad. But the temptation is there!

Eating healthy shouldn't be a sacrifice. I say you research some healthier recipes. There's plenty of delicious, guilt-free desserts that exist.

Don't worry, I'm not sacrificing good food at all. I'm just trying not to overindulge. smile Losing weight is mainly about moving around rather than just cutting out certain foods, so I count on my daily walks to keep me healthy.
I had a nice bagel with eggs from my own flock (the bantam eggs are too small to sell so I use them myself) and feta cheese today. Yum!
