The contestants have been left to fight it out in an abandoned coliseum somewhere in the Cross Roads. The ground is made of solid rock, and though the place is nearing ruins, one can not see up and over unless the climb the perilous steps in the seating area. The battle starts around dusk, and by midnight, visibility will be low. Wind whistles through the large cracks in the upper arena, and one would have to climb straight up 15 feet of smooth wall to reach one.

Salaura walked into the abandoned coliseum with her trusty quarterstaff in hand. The only sound she heard was the wind whistling through the area. Her opponent was nowhere to be seen. The white-haired young woman took a deep breath to settle her nerves, then another, until she dropped into a light meditative trance, still standing with both her hands on her staff.

Koji wandered his way into the abandoned coliseum. As he walked he constantly looked around almost seeming as if he was had gotten himself lost. He was in such a rush to make it to the field he had forgotten his armor, but managed to grab his small cross bow and his sword. As he saw Salaura his ears twitched lightly as his tail slowly moved from side to side as he man his way towards her. Once he got to her, he bowed lightly. "I'm sorry I'm late," He paused. "S..Salaura?" He asked just to make sure this was his opponent.

Salaura had heard Koji enter the arena. From the sound of his footfalls, he was not human. When he spoke, she opened her eyes to see a more lupine appearance then she'd been expecting. "I am she." Sala said calmly. "You must be Koji, then."

"Yes, I am Koji Tatsumoko." He answered Salaura. He smiled lightly, even knowing they would have to fight he couldn't help, but be polite it was his nature. "Well, we should get started." He said as he bowed again, the weight of his katana on his back, pushing him forwards a little as he stagger back up quickly. "Good, luck, just tell me when your ready, Ms. Salaura." He said as he moved his sword down to around his hip so that he could unsheathe is easier.

"Good luck to you too, Koji." Salaura said, her emotions hidden behind a polite smile. She then started turning her quarterstaff hand-over-hand to loosen up her shoulder muscles, and to start stirring up some useful air currents.

Koji had faked the stagger, only to throw his enemies perception of his balance off, a lot he was small, his balance was incredible; regardless of the weight he carried. He unsheathed his sword, then removed the sheath from his waist, resting it on a near by wall. He gripped onto the hilt with both hands and took a deep breath before pointing the tip of his blade at Salaura. He moved his legs, taking more a defensive stance as he waited for Salaura to make the first move.

Salaura stopped spinning her staff when the length of wood was alongside her body in a position called 'Broom' Then, like a broom, Sala swept the staff upwards, using the pole to direct a gust of air along the ground, picking up dirt, dust and any other sediment on the ground, and send it in a cloud into Koji's face. Then the young woman let go of the staff with one hand, to clutch at an unseen object under her tunic collar, calling on another breeze to twine around the sheathe against the wall. When she was sure that her rope of wind was secure, Salaura put that arm out, her fingers in a grasping motion, then yanked on the breeze around the sheathe, calling it to her, then whipped it around to try and hit Koji in the back of the head with his own sheathe.

Koji watched as Salaura began to spin her staff, he hadn't been trained in the bo staff so he didn't know what she was doing. He slowly moved back, keeping his eyes on her as she continued to pick up dust. When she threw the dust forwards he left of of his sword with on hand and pushed it forwards; as he pushed his hand in Salaura's direction a wind current pushed the dust back towards her. Suddenly Koji's ear twitched as he heard the sound of bamboo scraping against stone, he quickly turned around, just managing to move out of the way before his sheathe hit him.

Salaura was surprised when Koji sent the cloud of dust back at her. She hadn't been expecting to fight another fighter who could manipulate the wind! Salaura let go of her staff with her left hand, then whipped it across her chest to make a gap in the dust cloud, and charged through it. Once she could see Koji, Salaura swung her staff horizontally at his ribs.

As Salaura sliced the dust cloud in half, he decided to make a small move forwards. He attempted to help to move closer to Salaura, he figured with a weapon such as the bo staff her close range motions would be restricted. But he picked the wrong time to move because Salaura decided to swing her staff towards his ribs, but this would work to his advantage. He lifted his arm a little on the side that Salaura aimed for, as her staff made impact he cringed with pain, but quickly moved his arm down tightly holding on to Salaura's staff. He then throw a high kick, aiming for Salaura's head.

Salaura hadn't expected Koji to catch her quarterstaff between his arm and ribs. Most people who touched the seemingly plain staff got a nasty jolt of raw power until they let go of the wood. Could there be some kind of celestial disconnect between myself and the Mother here? Salaura though. While she was distracted by these thoughts, she almost didn't see Koji's kick. She tried to duck down to the side, but his foot still managed to catch her over her left eye. Salaura winced, but while Koji was still on one foot, she pushed on her staff, like a lever to try and shove him off-balance, or possibly over onto his side.

He had made his first hit, although it wasn't a direct hit; it was still worth taking her strike. He didn't let his small victory go to his head though and kept his eyes on Salaura as he leg made it's way back down to the ground. But before his foot could reach the ground he was shoved by Salaura, an unexpected maneuver, but he wasn't going to let it get the better of him. As he tilted over he moved his hand to catch himself, before he hit the ground, using the momentum from Salaura's push to cart wheel away from her. After he cart wheel, Koji jumped back and grabbed onto hilt of his sword with both hands again. He still had a small smile on his face, even though in the heat of battle. "Your a really good fighter, Salaura." He said.

Salaura resettled her grip on her staff while Koji did his acrobatics. Even doing this duel, he was still smiling, and aside from her aching head, Sala felt fine too. "Thank you, this is one of my first fights of this nature." she said modestly. "Shall we continue?"

Koji nodded. "Of course." Koji changed his footing as he slowly made his way to the right, keeping his distance. While moving in his circle, Koji randomly jumped forwards swinging his sword downward, but at and angle. But he didn't swing with the sword with the blade facing Salaura, but with the spin, his intent was to daze Salaura so that he could attack again, with a higher chance of hitting.
