I'm not sure most of us do like them either. I don't know how exactly to take care of it, but what if you made a layer on top of the scan and used the pen tool to smooth it out? Or is it colored? If so, I'm out of ideas, sorry.

I like scan lines, but I don't like overpowering and strong ones. I make mine pretty light. xD
I'm sure some new effect will become the new fad, and scanlines will fade away.
For now, they're extremely popular, but I don't really mind. xD

I like using scanlines but I make the opacity like 5-10 so they're not overpowering. However, what gets to me is vertical/horizontal lines because when you stare at them for a while, they seem to be moving and that gives me a headache.
I particularly like using thick white scan lines like in this:[x]
I dunno why but I think they look cool!

I like scan lines as long as they aren't overpowering or anything. I only add them if I see the need for some effect to spruce the graphic up a bit smile
