Benjamin Payne walked in the front door of Ollivander's, looking around. There was an awful lot of boxes in there, and he spent the first thirty seconds or so just kinda staring at them. Now, he didn't know much about getting a wand, but he had learned from his parents that wands did the choosing. Which Ben found wildly unbelievable... Until he picked up the first wand he saw. It shook violently, throwing Ben to the floor and casting the wand itself across the room, into a picture frame. Stunned and confused, Ben just sat there. "Um... Oops?"

"Whoa, chill!" Ben said, raising an eyebrow as he stood up. "I was just checking it out! Besides, no one got hurt, or anything." He shrugged, not seeing the big deal. "What's the problem then? Because I fail to see it." He smirked a bit, looking around the room.

"Oh, yeah. I'm the one with a ridiculous accent," Ben muttered, frowning. "Let me guess; stuck up, annoying, bratty... You must be rich," he said, his frown turning to a slight smirk. "You're all the same, all over the world. You know that, right?" He chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he took another look around the store impatiently. He might be a nice guy, but he wasn't about to be insulted by some uppity, spoiled-rotten snob with attitude problems.

Madison strode into the wand shoppe, only to witness a HufflePuff boy and a Slytherin girl yelling back and forth at each other. "Uh, I'll be over here, then..." She slowly backed into the nearest corner, taking a long look at all the wands, trying hard to fade into the background...

"You're a malnourished what-now?" Ben asked, raising an eyebrow. "That sounds like some sort of hideous disease..." His smirk grew with the idea, and then chuckled. Quoting his father, he said, "Respect is earned, not given..." And then off-quote, "And so far, you've given me nothing to respect." He grinned... And then the last comment, about him getting eaten alive. "Oh, yeah? Eaten alive, huh? Bite me."

"She says that as if it were an insult," Ben said, grinning to himself. Then he went back to the wands picking up random ones, with dramatically varying effects. One shot confetti out of the tip as he picked it up, he liked that one. But another one just poofed ugly brown-green smog. He raised an eyebrow, thoroughly entertained with the reactions.
