What I do is usually get some burst of inspiration and open up gimp. I let myself wander a bit with a kinda main concept design in my head ( this relates to any kinda graphic) and once I feel its complete I add a few neat effects save then upload it. Once I upload it I check it out, if I don't like it (which is most of the time) I still have the gimp file open and edit it. If I really don't like it I just scrap it. x-x
What about you? ;D

Pretty much the same. I'll get a thought from doing something and want to create something based off it. In my case I'd open up photoshop and get to work. Most of the times my ideas don't transfer as well but with trial and error it comes through eventually.
Though I usually spend hours pondering its missing something, what should go there?, it needs more color. Takes a while but when I finally get the desired result its well worth it.

Well Usually, I will get an Idea, then I sectch it on paper and then scan it, line art it, and color it. Or of photo editing, just plane mess around in gimp until I find a combonation I like

I normally have a vision in my head the second I get inspiration... or an order. So I open up photoshop, load the necessary brushes, new image, and I do that s**t. I only putz with image adjustments. I do all this stuff until I find that I like it.
And that's all I have to say about that.

I throw on a visually exciting movie. Sit down and look at what they want. And go at it. I can be almost done and decide I hate it and redo 3/4 of it. But I just start and make changes as I go and to the customers preference.

lol, of course I don't do much planned. xDDD Go with a general feeling/theme, put on music that goes with what I want. P: Usually I put WAAAY too much on and end up deleting several layers.

I'm terrible. I'll go all out, merge all the layers togther. OVERWRITE IT, upload it, show it to the person and if they go, "Nice but can you change this one thing?"
I'll go like, "...fack."

Weird as it may sound, but my creativity only hits when I'm busy or I'm having class. Sometimes, it would be based on my mood or a music I'm listening to. ;D

Whenever I make a post style, I always have the same first three layers: 1. White background (usually unnecessary but I make it anyway. xD) 2. Gradient 3. Scan lines
Then I do whatever from there. xD

oooh same here mostly.
first, i would probably read the commission request at least three times to get an idea in my head. then i open up photoshop. start a blank canvas and usually their main piece of art. put the art on the canvas and play around with making a 'background'. and scan lines are a must for me. its like my trademark. hahaha all my graphics have them.

I'll go like, "...fack."Oh my god I hate when I do that. It's like I sigh of relief when I perfect it (according to my vision) and then the customer's like it's awesome but can you change the red to one that's a bit darker and I'm like are you effin kidding me? And then I feel bad because they're, like, paying me so I just redo the whole damn thing.

invest all my money in a bottle of abinthe gold and go wild. just kidding
i pretty much stare at my order for about an hour, trying to get a feel for what they want i make a folder on the desktop with their user names so all their stuff can go in there. i open up the old PS CS3, and open up the stuff they gave me, work from there and before you know it....i have a profile layout. SO then... i slice everything up and put them individually in the folder. open up flash CS3 and make a few fancy animations and thier contact buttons. i optionally open up limewire and input a song if they want one, still in flash. save, upload and there you go!
