Perched on the bed and stretched in a patch of particularily warm sunlight, the creature purred, large paws batting at something unseen. Deep in slumber, he noticed naught around him, golden eyes closed tight. His fur was mottled, black and brown, with a tan underbelly. He was a cat. And for a cat, he was rather large.
He weighed 42 pounds, clearly overweight and yet not unable to function. He walked as if he were made of feathers, and was as lively and nimble as a cat half his size and age. For, as a cat, he was rather old. Going on ten years, he didn't seem to be deteriorating in the slightest, though his meow had never been quite right. More of a growl, a deep gravelly voice, than the cute mew that most expected. Though, such a mew would be naught but comical coming from such large a beast.
He snorted and twitched, slapping his paw against the bedspread, stretching and rolling before falling still. In all appearances, he seemed to be a perfectly normal house cat.
But things are not always as they appear, and often, they are...not quite normal.
Nothing did beley the appearance, however, not even as he opened strangely intelligent eyes and peeked blearily around the room. He was looking for his master, who was due home any moment. Yawning, he pulled himself off the bed and waddled out the door, down the stairs, and through the kitchen, sitting down expectantly by the front door.

Holly had been up since early in the morning thinking she had a lot to do but once dressed and ready to start working she realized that she only needed to go to one little store and she needed to feed light of her life. Yeah with that the cat is ment.
She had filled his bowl as quickly as possible and headed out to the store and since she didn't need a lot she'd stop at her parent's house just to say hi. They don't get to see her often since she usually is too busy with work and other things. Yay for a few days off.
The afternoon past quickly enough since her mother didn't stop talking for several hours and she never forgot to mention how Holly could look a bit more stylish in stead of wearing a scarf around her head. Holly ignored every comment and continued to sip her tea up until it was time for her to go, or so that's what she told her mother. Yeah she hadn't told her that Holyl had a few days off. It's for the better.
Holly sighed when she finally was standing in front of her own front door. She felt as tired as after a day of work but now she had a headache on top of that. "Every time..." Holly mumbled to herself as she opened the door. The headache forgotten quickly when she saw her cat sitting there. She threw her bag on the little table in the hall and perched down in front of her rather fat buddy and started to pet him. "Thank god you're not like my mother." Holly said with a little smile before standing up again and walking with her groceries to the kitchen.
