Demon of Pain

PostPosted: Fri Jan 13, 2006 3:52 am

A simple wooden door, braced by ancient wraught iron bars blocks the way to Pain's chamber. A single crude ring adorns the door to allow one to open it. The medievil design and building materials make the door heavy and ungainly.
But upon opening the door one does not see a hallway or a dungeon, not even a room, but a hole in the floor leading straight down into the shadows. As one peers down it one can see a torch just at the edge of human vision, and no signs of any hand-holds.
One has but two options upon seeing this, either dive in or give up. Assuming that one degins to proceed one would leap in and brace for impact. Along the tube are five torches in total, each just far enough apart to hide the previous from vision.
The hole ends in a hard floor, decorated in varying colors and shades of blood and several large gashes and dents. The floor though is the last plain thing to this chamber.
Assuming one has survived this far one would open their eyes or expand their senses to find a massive cavern of a chamber. The tube from which one had just dropped is actually the throat of an ornately carved dragon, whose body is hewn from the living rock of the ceiling. Light seems to emenate from everywhere in this place, though no fires but one can be seen.
This fire is set in the only fireplace in the room, set along a wall not far from a lage collection of cushions arranged into a 'bed'. One area of the cavern is obviously a training area. In this area are pillars set to test one's agility, a large open area bound by runes and a ring of rocks with further runes on them and a collection of foreign weapons ranging from the ungainly and massive double bladed war scythe down to 'scatter tacks', small sharp pebble like devices made to force an opponent to avoid an area.
Besides this are is what one could only call a stage. A massive plateau of ruck juts up a few feet above the cold stone floor. In the four corners of this stage are tall wrought iron bars with countless rings set in the surface. Their function unclear.
The last thing one sees, wether by chance or enchantment is the massive ruby set into the wall above an empty space in the cavern. One would think that such an impressive gold rimmed specimin would be spotted first, but instead seems to hide it's presence till all else has been observed. It's function and purpose are unlcear if not just for show.
