For the past few weeks the land has been ravaged both day and night. The hours that the sun would normally appear, it becomes pitch black as the moon and stars have pardoned themselves to only their familiar hours. On other days the sun remains in the sky well through the hours that night should descend. This has given marauders, bandits, monsters and other loathsome beings a great advantage during prolonged nights. A great deal of the land is feeling the pangs of famine and civil ware due to the pandemonium. In some areas an odd crevice ruptures from the earth. From these are heard the stuff of nightmares. Some nights, willowy figures slink from these fissures and will surely attack you if you're seen. A wayward rogue is to blame for this. She stole a precious amulet from one of the gods' temples and has supposedly angered the gods to have this curse so far spread over the nation of Senkarde. Her punishment is to right this wrong and seek solution. Sadly that amulet has shattered. Soddit, what can she do now?

note: if you're interested in already being associated with the rogue, PM me or post in the OOC. I'd greatly appreciate someone to step up as a watcher over the rogue who stays with her at all costs to ensure she does what she's supposed to be doing. Most likely a warrior class or mage. Then again make it a paladin and Fam will love you. Paladins make the rogue miserable.

This roleplay will benefit the most if there are at least 3-5 other users involved.

1. Literacy is a must. I expect no less than two paragraphs. A single paragraph for this RP is compiled of seven sentences. Grammar, appropriate capitalization, creativity, etc, are all dire. I will be prompt to point out your mistakes if there are more than two in a single post. Feel free to point out my own.
2. Don't post in the IC unless your profile is in the profile thread.
3. Respect your RPers and don't be a drama queen/king. Whatever happens in the IC is between characters, not users directly. Don't be offended and please don't whine or b***h to us if your character is being "ignored". You're not the star, no one is, up to you to get into the thick of things.
4. These following races will not be permitted in this RP: vampires, lycanthropes, nekos, inus, demons, or angels.
5. The following class specializations will not be permitted in this RP: ninjas, samurai, necromancers, dragon slayer.
6. Make your character realistic. Don't god mode and don't have a dramatic tale or know five languages totally off from your character's race. Follow Gaia TOS.
7. No instant romance. You will have no feelings for someone a couple of days after meeting them. Become friends/enemies first and see how things turn out.
8. PM profiles to myself, Fam, with your class as the title. Once your profile has been approved by myself via PM post it in the profile storage thread and make an IC post whenever you can.
9. Keep all OOC in the OOC thread. No, don't even use [, ( in IC posts. I made the OOC thread for a reason.
10. This is a medieval RP. Refrain from using the word "crap". Vulgarity is allowed, but keep it reasonable and pertaining to the era you bloody knave.
11. Please don't clutter your post with decor. Remember the days when Gaia RPing was grand? Let's get a taste of that here. Meaning no post decor whatsoever. I dare you to this challenge.
12. You will use third person, book style. Your character thinks in italics and "speaks in bold".
13. Fam has bad eyesight. Please use IC font of size 10-12. Don't use obnoxiously bright/neon colors for posts either. Or, for that matter, ridiculously light and soft colors.
14. Have a mount that makes sense race wise and kingdom wise. If someone wishes for a dragon as a mount they must make a separate profile for said dragon as a secondary character, seeing as dragons are more intelligent than human beings.
15. Two strikes and you're out. Breaking a rule, sending a poorly crafted profile, etc.
16. Rules are subject to change and expand as I see fit.

Drow: About standard human size, their intentions are usually more sinister than that of their lighter skinned cousins, the elves. Drow have dark purple to black skin and commonly white hair although light hues have also been noted. Being a scorned race they don't have any contact with the surface world and only they are aware of any tunnels leading into their underground kingdom. Not much is known of them.

Dwarf: Very rugged and hearty, dwarves are able to consume a lot and have even brewed the strongest ale in Alphlern. They rarely laugh or smile on humor's part and specialize in smithing as well as working with any sort of gem. As a short race, normally three feet and very rarely exactly four feet, the dwarves have made allies of the halflings. Humans are tolerated and the orcs are warily regarded for business. Hardly getting along with elves, the dwarves also barely respect lizardfolk as they have limited interaction with them. Dwarves are very stubborn so they never back down from a challenge. This could either be a curse or a gift at times, depending on the offending situation. Working mostly within mines they appreciate the natural beauty of things and love to keep their hands busy with anything.

Elf: Ever close to nature the elves have been able to construct most living space within behemoth trees, blending in with the forest. In their culture they don't ask straightforward questions when at a certain level of maturity. Instead the more experienced ones are able to inquire what they wish to know, some even use riddles to talk although this becomes very frustrating for the other races. This is very true of the dwarves as their blunt attributes falter, they view most prolonged business tedious and therefore it is difficult for elves to make peace with them. Elves disregard their drow cousins for the most part but few have done otherwise. Orcs are looked down upon as barbaric monsters and are barred from ever nearing the elven kingdom. Aside from that the elves accept every other race. The elves specialize in magick and animal husbandry.

Halfling: Not exactly fighters the halflings thrive on learning magick and many flock to the elven kingdom to extend their knowledge if they wish for such. They trust the elves greatly as well as the humans, welcoming the dwarves was not so exerting either. Most halflings have dark hair, the purest of halfling blood will have midnight blue. Over all they reach about two feet and five inches to three feet and five inches with a lithe build. They are wary of the towering orcs and have yet to attempt making allies of lizard-folk. Many families own a vineyard, a fish farm, or a produce farm so they are very diligent with work. Festivals are evident as they hope for good fortune during the harsh seasons. Although a merry people sometimes halflings lose control with their short fused tempers.

Halves/Mixed*: Appearances dramatically vary depending on the acquired bloodlines. A halve will stay within an area of either breed they derived from, switch over every season to maintain two cultures, or remain wherever they like regardless of race. They more so get along with humans and both of their breeds. There are still many who scorn a mixed being, considering it disgraceful and dishonorable to let an abomination live among them. A halve's class might be affected by their races. Usually resulting from a refusal to be taught or even, sadly, rejection from culture.

Human: Average mortal beings, humans will get along with any race depending on their personality and preferences. The other kingdoms seem to put up with this bunch. The Fenster kingdom itself is allied with the elves and lizard-folk. Much can be learned from the elves, mostly powerful magick, and the lizard-folk offer abundant trade for goods. Halflings aren't taken very seriously, humans often challenge dwarves to drinking contests in vain and a sworn enemy is commonly the orc. They are very diverse in concerning class, popular classes among humans are that of the scout, paladin, alchemist, and guard. Some being near the ocean will become pirates to live on the dangerous Carouser Isles.

Lizard-folk**: Long ago their ancestors lived in the swamps but were driven out by rough orc clans. Today few still have retained their gills as they now reside within the desert. These reptilian humanoids have close-knit communities but enjoy trading with the other kingdoms. They appear to feel no hostility towards the orcs aside from an occasional complaint or wistful notion to return to the marshes, entranced by the history passed on from old relatives. Some have become spies but most prefer life in the sandy dunes, or even the broadened horizon of a merchant/merchant's guard. The lizard-folk don't all look similar. Families can be pointed out by what breed of animal lizard they most represent. For example, the royal Trocknen family have always resembled the bearded dragon lizard. And depending on their base breed of lizard, lizard-folk can burrow quickly, leap far, attack with a whipping tongue/tail, be toxic, remain underwater for hours or blend in with current surroundings.

Orc: Towering over most at about six feet to the orc king's nine foot height, orcs range in skin of grounded colors. Namely the common dark green to a pale green, or even a muddy brown or dark yellow of some elders. Orcs are rather barbaric and prefer a cave rather than some peaking inn. Unless bored they won't attack without reason. If a non-orc speaks their native tongue the present green beings calm a little to accept them, if only for a moment. To gain the friendship of an orc one should do something either very stupid and lucky, or something daring. The orcs have gone into war with the lizard-folk many years ago, elves twenty years ago, and humans only five years back. Contrary to popular belief, not every orc is a mad barbarian although they all have that rough 'n' tumble streak in them. Every orc has gone into battle after puberty, before and even after this they are constantly fighting each other but only one on one for the young ones. This teaches that a duel is important, one on one battle being a nearly sacred things among offending sides or even true enemies.

*Mixed: of no more than three races and no less.
**Lizard-folk: don't have any hair. Females don't have breasts. They're reptiles, get over it.

Languages: [all languages but any Common will be color coded. Feel free to discuss with me about an additional language. Any of the Uncommon languages can be typed as regular English but must be correctly color coded]

Common [everyone can know English automatically; modern languages may be used. German, Latin, Spanish, French, etc. Put translation at end of post or after each pause]-black or default posting color of individual unless any of the colors listed below

Elven-green

Drow-dark blue

Draconis-orange [Druids will automatically know this as well as reptile-like creatures and lizard-folk]

Dwarven-brown

Orc-olive

Common kingdom mounts:

Denkmal: Gryphons [specifically bred types]

Elbenstrass: Battle-trained unicorns [not just for healing/girly whims anymore]

Fenster: Horses [all breeds]

Regierung: Hydra [big enough to carry one orc, usually three to five heads]

Sabbat: None known thus far.

Trocknen: Basilisk [not really basilisk, they're basically reptilian horses with a nasty temper and a love for taking a dip. Inspired by Lynx_Dragunhart]

Winzig: Axe-beak [an ostrich like bird from my DnD Monster Manual, can't fly but is very defensive]
