Oh, I'm sure you think you know all there is to know about the living dead. I doubt it. Oh, they're just walking corpses, you say. I shoot them, they die. I throw a grenade at them, they die. They're just slower, flesh eating people. They're no threat. Why are people so afraid of them?
You think you're so smart, don't you. I'm going to laugh so hard when you die first.
Consider this an invitation to Hunter High. You want to live out the war that's soon to come? Join us. Become a true Hunter, learn to fight, to survive, to run sweeps and rescue the suckers who never learned, and when you graduate you'll know that you have the power to survive when the worst comes. Or become a Scholar, researching the truth about zombies, why they are what they are, and how we can finally find a cure for zombism...you pansy.
Come, or don't come. Your life is in your own hands now, soldier. I hope to see you here. After all, every uneducated rube is one more zombie we'll have to shoot down.Sincerly, William T. Jacobsen Principal of Hunter High

 The Rules 1. Within the confines of this roleplay, I shall be your Lord and Savior. Get the idea?
2. One of the things I hate most to see are the people I actually like trying to kill each other. Keep arguing to a minimum or I shall unleash Principal Jacobsen upon you and your character.
3. Such requirements like literacy are thankfully null and void within this particular guild since everyone here is of the level I require.
4. Language and romance. Language I leave to the decision of when Broken starts to get annoyed. Otherwise, go nuts. But there is no human alive that uses only the word '********' to communicate. Romance is also encouraged, to a point. Love at first sight should be rare if at all in existence. There had also better be no cybering what so ever, not that I really think I have to tell anyone here. If you must, indicate that it happened, and leave it at that.
5. As far as posting format goes, no enormous or tiny text and keep colors away from blinding. Should you damage my retina with your yellow, I will find you. And hurt you. Making your posts look good too are very welcome.
6. These zombies are based off of Zombie Land as well as Max Brooks' Survival Guide. If you've never seen Zombie Land, then I suggest you do so out of the goodness of my heart. It's great. But you don't need to have watched or read anything to apply here. Though I suggest some research, unless you want to turn into a horrible undead abomination of course. Below is a link that leads to a page that fairly well describes Max Brooks' definition and thoughts. Really the only thing that's really being drawn in from Zombieland is the zombie's ability for sprinting. So really, Max Brook's zombies except they can chase you down. smile
7. When applying for a character send them to me through a private message with the title: "Huzzah, Headshot!" It makes me happy to find certain things springing up in my inbox. Especially amongst all of my other messages...

Know Your Surroundings! The following is the basic things you will need to know about each building where you'll be staying.
Hunter High - part normal high school, part college, part penitentiary, by appearance at least. But of course, nothing inside is the slightest bit normal. Hunter High is designed with nothing but safety in mind. There are no windows on the ground floor with the exception of the barred ones on The Home, and the doors have solid steel shutters, easily pulled over. The stairs are all retractable, and huge amounts of supplies are stored in the second floor of every building. All of this makes Hunter High the perfect place to stay during a zombie siege. And naturally, the perfect place to learn to weather the crisis.
Hunter High is nominally a high school, but actually holds a place for a wide variety of students in a wide variety of age ranges. High school students take classes here from 8-3:30 and then go home, but night classes start at 5 and end at 11:30 for adults, and both students from other states, or countries, and full time zombie experts sleep in the dormitories and spend basically all their time on campus.
Beyond the walls of the buildings, all of the campus is surrounded with a fifteen foot tall chain link fence. Since the zombies aren't capable of fine motor movement, they can't climb it. The fence is also electrified, to even though the zombies can't feel it, it will eventually burn off their fingers if they should try to climb it. The only entrance to the campus is a large double-gated structure near Hunter Hall. This could almost qualify as a building, since all but the gates are made of concrete. The giant, porous gates are made entirely of steel. In case a student with a home nearby or a high priority individual is trying to enter the school.
There is also a helipad with two chinooks at the ready. These are mostly used to transport students who live close enough to the campus that they can be choppered in, but too far to drive. Principal Jacobsen would like to give everyone the most opportunities he can.
The buildings in Hunter High are as follows:
++ Hunter Hall: The largest building on campus, Hunter Hall is where the Hunter classes take place. Principle Jacobsen makes his residence here, as do the other Hunting teachers. Most of Hunter Hall's first floor is taken up by a massive shooting range, connected to a smaller one in the courtyard. Hunter High's 'popular kids' are often seen hanging around Hunter Hall, often engaging in shooting-range competitions. Zombies are generally not held at Hunter Hall- occasionally one or two will be let loose for target practice, but it's a relatively risk-free zone (though getting shot by an overzealous student is always a possibility...)
++ Scholar House: The second largest building on campus. This is where the Scholar classes take place. Home to several state of the art laboratories and medical facilities, real scientists and doctors often come to speak to students or just to use these facilities themselves. Generally there are a decent number of zombies here at any given time, for dissection or for medical testing. The more studious kids tend to congregate here. The nurse's office is also here.
++ Academia: Unfortunately, even in a school like Hunter High, students must take at least a few normal classes. Math, English, history and non-zombie related science courses are held here, which obviously makes this a fairly unpopular building amongst at least the Hunters. Since most of the teachers who teach here also teach other, zombie-related subjects, they try to make their subjects interesting by connecting them to the students' true passions.
++ Mess Hall: Obvious enough- this is the cafeteria. Breakfast is served at 7:30 AM, right before school starts. Lunch is served for all students at 12:30 PM and dinner is served at 6:00 PM. The Mess Hall is open for all students during breaks and after classes end at 3:30, and sells snacks all day. A wide variety of students hang around here.
++ The Home: Officially called the Hunter Dormitories, the day students call the dorms 'The Home' mainly because most of the full time students are older. The few full-timers (as students who stay in the dorms are called) who are of high school age tend to suffer from teasing. Outside of the adults who live there, students avoid the Home like the plague.
++ The Sanatorium: Having no official name, this small building in the farthest corner of campus is home to Hunter High's store of zombies, used for a variety of studious purposes. A popular hangout for the 'darker' kids of Hunter High, it's nicknamed the Sanatorium due to the constant moaning coming from inside- impossible to hear unless you're standing extremely close- which could drive you insane. Students often dare each other to go inside, but none ever do- they've heard the stories. In addition, it's whispered amongst the student body, there's one room in the Sanatorium that is accessible only from the outside. That room is the fate of the student with the misfortune to be bit by a zombie- they walk in, and only Principal Jacobsen walks out, pistol still in his hand, with a sad look in his eye.

Some Important Background Information! Okay, we've already discussed the zombies. Now. This is set in modern times, so technology hasn't changed a bit. There's nothing new though, so boo hoo if you want some crazy death ray. Hunter High is based almost in the center of Nevada in the United States, and while anyone who lives there may choose to go to Hunter High, anyone else is strictly invite only.
The undead started to their little escapade nearly simultaneously in two different locations about thirty years ago: California in the United States, and Hong Kong in China. With air travel, there are several infected areas all over the world. No where is truly safe, but the farther you get from most major cities, the better. There are still small communities that are self-sufficient and unharmed, these either existed before the outbreak or were created because of the outbreaks. The zombies can't be everywhere at once.
Hunter High is currently the leading authority on Zombie defense, and is the refuge for anyone in Nevada, but Jacobsen will turn away anyone else should the world fall to chaos.

++ s т u ∂ ε η т s ++
Students of Hunter High are a wildly varying lot, ranging in ages from fourteen to adulthood, with different interests, passions and goals. Upon entering Hunter Hall, students must choose between one of two disciplines. This choice will not only determine how one will spend their academic years at Hunter High, but, to an extent, how their peers will treat them, as well.
++ нuηтєяs ++
Hunters are the jocks and cheerleaders of Hunter High- though not always in attitude or appearance, certainly in popularity. Hunters must be in top physical condition, and all must take a gym course every semester they attend. Hunters, it should be obvious from their name, learn how to hunt zombies- to kill efficiently, as well as how to lure zombies to their position, how to ambush them, and more defensive techniques like how to survive in a siege. Hunters are generally quite popular, and spend most of their time at Hunter Hall.
Specializing: Every Hunter must, by their second year at Hunter High, choose a weapons proficiency. Freshman may take all, one or none of the weapons classes first year, but by sophomore year a student must choose between Martial Arts, Close Combat (blunt), Close Combat (Bladed), Firearms, and Silent Projectiles (crossbows, throwing knives, and the like). Firearms is easily the most popular.
Schedule: Mandatory for All Hunters: Zombies 101 On The Attack- Baiting, Ambushing, and More On The Defense- The Siege Physical Education Mathematics English Weapons Proficiency course (from sophomore year forward)
Optional [Hunters can pick two]: Terrain and the Attack Firing Practice Zombie Physiology Basic First Aid Science History Weapons Proficiency course (for freshman)
A Hunter schedule is always 10 periods long- lunch is always 6th and weapons proficiency (the mandatory one for sophomores and up) is always 1st. Freshman always have Zombies 101 first. The rest of the scheduling is entirely up to you.
++ scнolαяs ++
First of all, since you're here: somewhere in your profile, put a heart. That'll tell me you actually read this far! Good on you. Anyway, Scholars are the nerds of Hunter Hall. They are divided into two subclasses, Doctors and Scientists, depending on what the Scholar in question wishes to become. Their classes are solely academic- Physical Education is optional- many Scholar students thank their lucky stars for that. Scholars are often picked on- their choice of career means that their classes are much more difficult than Hunter classes and thus require more work, so they are often seen as eggheads even when that's not their personality at all. Hunters tend to think they're superior to them, while Scholars see Hunters as meatheads who are only interested in instant gratification. All Scholars are required to take Firing Practice, so they aren't completely helpless in the case of an attack, but many of them resent this.
Scholar Types: The two types of Scholars, Doctors and Scientists, are much more separate than the different Hunter specializations, and are essentially two completely separate classes, unified by the stereotypes Hunters have about them and by their residence in the Scholar House. Doctors are interested mainly in finding a cure or a vaccine for/against zombieism. Scientists are more interested in how zombieism works, how zombies differ from humans, and- Hunters tend to have more respect for this type of Scientist- better and more efficient ways to eliminate zombies.
Schedule: Mandatory for All Scholars: Zombies 101 Math English Science History Firing Practice
Mandatory for Scientists: Zombie Physiology Zombie Psychology Military Science
Mandatory for Doctors: Basic First Aid Finding a Cure: Medical Research Decoding the Virus
(Scholars can take any Hunter class optionally, but they must stay at school late. They have 10 periods (as Hunters do) normally, with lunch also at sixth period. Their other classes can be scheduled as you like (except freshman have Zombies 101 first with the freshman Hunters, always.)

Feel free to mix and match. If you want to be 'The Violent One' but with a text book instead of a weapon, do so. Just point it out to me. If you want 'The Timid One,' but would rather be a lady, that's good too. See where I'm going with this?
Also, characters may only be based loosely on their role if you so choose. For instance, I'm taking the male heroic role, which if someone wanted there could be another, depending on what we've got, but my character isn't going to be all Gung-ho about it. But he should be more likely to dive in after someone than say the timid role.)

isaac ARMINE You don't listen too well. I'll stab those eyes.Wakey-wakey. Smell those eggs and bakey. - Isaac. Isaac sighed as he rubbed his left eye. There he sat, admiring the light fog that had rolled in from some unknown source thanks to the early time. Just outside the Mess Hall, Isaac was perched upon the steps leading inside. The cooks were inside already, but they didn't open the doors until seven, so the early birds could still eat sooner than scheduled, but not a moment sooner.
Minutes before this exciting moment Isaac had jumped out of bed thanks to the blaring siren that was his alarm clock. Isaac resided within the Home, so it was actually quite unnecessary for him to have an alarm clock. The hustle of everyone inside the Home could rouse a hibernating bear. But he was an 'overachiever.'
After showering and dressing, a pair of long tan khakis and a simple light blue shirt was perfect for such a cool morning. But it was after listening to his stomach roar at him for sustenance for a while that he finally decided to walk out into the world of the soon to be living. Arming himself with his pistol and several clips, he had set out. Knowing that Hunter High would turn into a very lively place at about quarter to seven, meant he could deal with the fog.
Soon there would be cars and a few helicopters showing up to drop off students of all kinds. Soon, Isaac would be able to sate his raging stomach. And soon, classes would begin.
(Something to keep in mind. School will have been in session for about two weeks. Enough for freshmen to at least be noticed. Characters do not have to know each other or even be familiar with them. But it shouldn't be anyone's very first day.)

Adrian was an early riser; she loved having time in the morning. After taking a quick shower, she got dressed, pulling on her favourite jeans, a lose tank top and finally, as an afterthought, a sweater. It looked like it would be a cool day. She sat down at her desk, opening one of her textbooks and began to read. This is how she usually spent her extra time in the morning, reading. As she came to the end of her page, she looked at her clock, 6:18 am. The other reason she always got up early was to miss the buzz of the Home’s morning crowd. She liked her peace and quiet in the morning.
Realizing the time, she quickly gathered what she would need for the day, leaving her room as the other students were starting to groggily role out of bed. It sounded like a sleeping giant was suddenly coming to life. As she exited the building, Adrian decided to take a walk around the compound. She had the time to spare.
Finally, she looped back to the Mess Hall. It was almost 7:00 and they would be opening up the cafeteria soon. She found Isaac sitting on the steps outside the building. She nodded hello, giving him a small smile, before also taking a seat on the steps. Silently, she removed the textbook she had been reading earlier from her bag, and continued to read. She and Isaac knew each other, both living in the Home, however, whether they were friends or not remained to be seen. They hadn’t really talked, and their different paths in school definitely caused a bit of rift between them.
Suddenly, Adrian’s stomach growled audibly. She laughed, closing her book, “Guess I am hungrier than I thought.” She commented, smiling. She was really excited for her classes later that day, some of the stuff they were going to cover looked really interesting.

┏━━━━━━━━━┓»εℓℓισт♀ιℓfяαcσmвε«┗━━━━━━━━━┛»scнσℓαя« You're a great friend but if the zombies chase us, I'm tripping you. On the ride to school, Elliot whipped out a book, intent on reading even if she would be there in five minutes. Her eyes scanned the page, looking for where she left off. Ah, there it was. A tiny smile worked its way on Elliot's face as she read, and she giggled at a particularly funny part. Several minutes into the book, the chauffeur informed her they'd be arriving soon. Sighing, Elliot tucked away her book and gazed out at the scenery. The day was new and the sky clear, but it still seemed like it was going to be a bit chilly. She'd dressed for cool May weather: faded jeans, a green shirt with the words "You read my t-shirt. That's enough social interaction for one day," and coal-black shoes. Her hair was left down, brushed, but barely.
"We're here," the chauffeur shouted. Elliot nodded and retrieved her backpack before unbuckling. The door opened, and Elliot hopped out of the helicopter, ducking and hurrying away. Her raven black hair flew all over the place before the helicopter returned to the air. Huffing, she fixed her hair, slinging her backpack onto her back, and made her way to the Mess Hall. There were already several students there, a fellow Scholar (Adrian something...) she recognized, a Hunter she didn't, and a few more. The Mess Hall hadn't opened yet, but it would in about three minutes.
"Hey," Elliot murmured to Adrian. She was a sophomore, and Elliot was only a freshman, but she figured it wouldn't matter to Adrian.

isaac ARMINE You don't listen too well. I'll stab those eyes.Welcoming Committee. - Isaac, Adrian, and Elliot Isaac nodded back his greeting to Adrian. He wasn't usually very talkative in the morning. He was neutral in his feelings towards her. She was a scholar, which wasn't really bad, but she was on the doctor branch, which made him lean towards avoiding her. At least the scientists were helping the hunters 'kill' the zombies with their research.
He started to play with the holster on his right thigh before looking up and seeing some of the first helicopters arrive. Some were private, others were the school's property. Isaac kind of wished he could leave this place occasionally. School got old after a while, and breaks sucked for him since he rarely actually went home. It was on breaks that he blew through ammo, and killed his arms. His revolver had more kick than tank in his opinion, which is why he only saved it for emergencies and target practice. He had to move his head to dodge it every time he fired it.
When Adrian's stomach growled, Isaac chuckled a little. Until his own answered back. Then his face went blank. His stomach would pay for that later. Embarrassing him this early in the morning. b*****d... But this would likely be offset by the arrival of another scholar. Isaac figured she was such since he didn't recognize her. That or she was just a bad hunter. Either way, it didn't matter too much to him. His little faux pas would be killed by distraction; excellent.
It was soon after that that the Mess Hall doors gave an small 'click'. This was the lock being undone. Isaac perked up, standing up in a shot. Waiting, the doors opened before him as one of the cooks propped it open. Isaac was hungry, but not enough for him to bumrush the poor cook. Isaac heard the tell-tale signs of several other students making their way towards the hall. Some students had it programmed into their watches, the weirdos. Heading inside, Isaac went to the counter, indicated what he wanted by pointing, and settled down at a table. Some of the cooks knew his face, and knew that he didn't want to speak much so early. He had ordered a glass of milk and a little bagel sandwich type thing with ham, cheese, and a fried egg. He was happy enough, for now.
