Canada, you fail. Namely when you try to say you're better than America, which is quite often.

You don't stand for anything! America came about because of the need for a place in the world for free thinking, free speech, a no-strings democracy where the people govern instead of the wealthy and powerful. America stands for truth, justice and equality. It's a young and powerful nation that was built on dreams. Canada came about because of diplomacy, negotiation with Mother Britain that we'd still pay taxes to her as long as we could govern ourselves. We weren't built on anything, we're just a self-sufficient country.

Your social studies education is polluted with false history that came about because of nationalism. Apparently we kicked a** in World War 1. According to my grade 10 history book, America and Britain were pounding the bunkers of Vimy Ridge, France for months with no progress, and when the Canadians volunteered to make a charge for it, it took us three days of close-range combat to capture it. So what? Vimy Ridge had little strategic value, and above all, it was ONE BATTLE. One battle does not turn the tide of a war. Vimy Ridge was the only battle talked about that had Canadian battalions fighting, because I'm pretty sure that was the one day we got lucky in the whole war. We were a minor help to an army of 3-4 world superpowers. However, the textbooks make it out that after the war, Canadians were seen as rowdy and tough frontiersmen and lumberjacks that no German could match in hand-to-hand combat. I doubt most of those soldiers could point us out on a map.

Now that we're on the topic of wars, how about our contribution to World War 2? Apparently a big part of our heritage was the Normandy Invasion, where American, British, Free French and Canadian marines assaulted the beaches of Normandy, France in the first breach of the Nazis' Fortress Europa. The plan was for several battalions to hit several different beachheads at the same time, causing confusion all over the Nazi defenses. Britain hit like, 10 beaches, America hit 9 or something, I think Free France hit 4 or 5, and how many did Canada hit? One. Canada had one beach to hit. And lets not forget that Germany had enough troops to cover defenses on every beach. My history textbooks say that Britain and Canada were the first ones to hit the beaches while the lazy Americans stayed behind on their naval ships and fired mortars on the bunkers before getting on the beaches we spearheaded. This is not only false, but hugely disrespectful to the thousands of Americans that spearheaded beaches and were killed by Nazi machine guns that day.

What else have you lied about Canada?

Oh, I've got a good one. They say Canada was responsible for burning down the White House and burnt New York to the ground. This one is understandable though, it's an easy ******** up. We burnt down the White House in retaliation to America invading and sacking York (now named Toronto, Ontario, New York was never invaded by us). Even so, we did it when we were still British-controlled, with powerful British armies and supplies, not independent Canada. In my mind, we're taking a lot more credit for this than we deserve. In fact, my teachers always left out that part about America taking Toronto, which is like New York to us.

Canada, grow a d**k. If you can't be a military or political power in the world, at least don't lie to children that you are. This doesn't give us pride, it's only fuel for Canadian/American flame wars on the internet.

oh and another thing...our debt is in the trillions. I mean wtf...no one's debt should be that high. We still havent paid off WWII or Vietnam or any other war since then. I mean really....
