So, just as I was ready to go back to Kenpo, the school in town closed down...The closest school is 33 miles away from here, and I don't know that I have time and effort to drive over a state. I'm thinking about Krav Maga. Have any of you actually studied it? If so, got any advice for me?! I know one thing I'm looking forward to is the effectiveness I've seen demonstrated in the techniques. We worked with a little bit of it at my old school, but only to put it into a kenpo context.

Wow... it's been a loooooong time =o
Krav Maga is basically real karate... their techniques are for real life street situations. It's a good art to know, considering that karate now a days is a mere sport and not much of it's real aspect is being taught anymore. =

I looked into the school and it seemed a bit questionable. Luckily, the people I used to work with have gotten back together and opened up a new place. Not really a school in the sense that they don't advertise and it kind of invitation only....It's more like a club that way and will cut back on the typical "revolving door" of new students that schools in this area tend to have.
I haven't made it in yet, though. I've been pretty busy lately but I'm looking forward to making it there in the next few weeks. YAY!
