Does anyone have any tips for allergy sufferers?
On good days, I can run a bit over 2 miles (though, I still think I can run further :S) and on a bad day I can't even run half of one. I was running everyday for a month and I developed a sinus infection--something I've never gotten before--and I've been an allergy sufferer for 16 years.
Is there anything I can be doing to make my symptoms more tolerable? Thank you kindly for your advice heart
P.S. I really want to run in a marathon some day. It's a goal of mine.

Have you tried taking Benadryl before heading out? The only other thing I can suggest would be to wear a mask over your nose and mouth to keep the irritants out, but it's not really an option if you're running in a populated area.
If the outdoors are too hard on you, you could try to get ahold of a treadmill or use Wiifit's running exercises. Not ideal solutions, but they work.

It's been a while since I came to this guild. I hate to necromine this thread, but thank you. heart 4laugh
I've taken Benadryl before. There's a little improvement when I take over-the-counter medications, not much--but it's definitely there. I decided to incorporate really long powerwalks to increase my runs. I hope to increase my tolerance to the environment by doing this. They do long powerwalks in the military, and my husband said it increases his endurance. And I'm taking a lot of vitamin C and rinsing out my nose with salt water.

It's fine, we don't have any rule against reviving forgotten threads XD
I know that the military hikes with weighted packs, I hadn't heard of them powerwalking before.
If the medicine helps, then go for it! The only downside is that for some people, medicines like Benadryl can make them sleepy. My brother's girlfriend has a severe pet allergy, and whenever she takes Benadryl for it, it puts her to sleep. I'm glad that things are going well for you!
